It did, I loved growing up in a home that made us look at things creatively and see new possibilities in the way things were combined and arranged. I loved learning the power creativity from you 😘😘
I’m drawn towards English Country, because it isn’t fussy, and is so comfortable. However, I like elements of all of the styles you highlighted. I like some of the formality of classic design, I like the wood and neutral color scheme of modern design, I like the use of natural materials of the organic design, and I like the quirky international vibe of bohemian design style. I guess that makes me pretty eclectic.
All those elements are truly timeless in my opinion! I love them all as well❤️❤️ thanks for watching!

I’m a mix of three! Classic in the living and dining room… and then organic, English cottage in the family room and kitchen. It’s like a mullet! Business in the front, party in the back! 😊

What a lovely & fabulous outline! I am a mix with the exception of Boho. Two weeks ago, I just purchased my first structural piece. A bench (bold checkered black & white) which is now in front of the fireplace. I absolutely love it! It was the piece I may have been missing. I did not see that vision from the beginning. A very delightful surprise! I do lean towards, french anything, however, I have to use restraint. Darn!

My house has two units. One unit was built in 1944. That has dark gray walls in the living room, with pops of red. I call it “Oriental Noir.”
The other unit was built in 1973. A mid century modern. It’s got a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams. It’s all modern in there. I chose a black, white and green (with plants) color scheme, there. So, I let the space and the period it was built, direct its style.
I love that! Letting our homes architectural heritage inform the design direction is such a great way to decorate! And "Oriental Noir" sounds gorgeous!
Organic... definitely organic for me. I would love to see more about color palettes for these. It's so hard for me to choose colors! I love the calm monochromatic tones of Scandinavian style, but I'm affraid I would yearn for change because I also love all kinds and depths of colors, mainly blues (LOVE teal), yellows, peaches, pinks, and purples! I just don't understand how to make it all work together. 😢 Maybe just stick to muted tones??

@@ashleychilders Thank you, I did check it out... it's a beautiful video. I downloaded the color palette guide, too, so thank you for that. It helps, but I'm still confused. I like warm and cool colors and I just don't know what the rules are for using them together in the same room or entire home (or should we even?) I'm remodeling my kitchen with stained wood lower cabs and white uppers and I have no idea what stain or white to use or what shade of wood flooring to go with them. And if I make a mistake, it'll be too expensive for me to fix. Ugh.
80% classic, 10% English cottage (mostly in the floral department), 5% organic, 5% bohemian

Thank you!! I lean towards a Modern + Classic mix, that's how I would describe our home, but I love English Country accents too!
Ashley would appreciate a quick advice. Can we use a rectangle and a circular table of varying heights on each side of a sofa as end tables?
Absolutely, especially if the sofa is floating in the center of the room and has arm chairs to one side. If you need lamps on each table, I’d look for two that will be similar in height and shade size once they’re on the tables, making up the difference in the table heights. So visually, when they’re turned on in the evening the light projection is at a similar level. It will create more balance to your eye that way ❤️
