It's always wild to see pilots again in animation. Rick's voice is so different and the animation is so much jankier. Visually the show is just on another level from the early stuff.
Yeah it’s unfortunate how people see the simple main character designs and write it off as another adult animated show in terms of visuals, it deserves so much credit for how much love they put into the character animation. Compare it to a modern episode of Simpsons or Family Guy, those shows look super stiff these days, their character movement is just point A to point B.

The end of season 6 teases that 7 will be the search for Rick Prime, 8 could potentially be some return of evil morty or something they set up in season 7, but season 9 (the final season, whatever the rest of the arc is) will end with Rick getting his Szechuan sauce. It's a perfect finale for the show

His dimension is the one where his wife created the sauce and his wife's version of the recipe is way better tasting than any other across the dimensions. It all makes sense now! Rick Prime travelled across dimensions steadily gaining more and more knowledge just as Rick C-137 monologued about how he/they became the smartest man across every dimension in one of his monologues (Dnt remember exactly when or what he said but he said something along those lines of being the smartest through dimensional travel). Rick Prime traded his dimensional travel tech to other Ricks for whatever knowledge they could give him. However, Rick C-137 wouldn't take the deal because he wanted the sauce for himself so Rick Prime stole the recipe and killed Beth so nobody else could learn the secret. Rick C-137 is out for the sauce recipe!
I mean that was his original intention but I think that he probably gave up some time before Rick Potion #9, if only because he was forced to conclude that Prime, mad lad that he is, was probably outside the curve. That said Szechuan Sauce was never anything as opposed to revenge which was a thing that was either abandoned or on break (Morty was originally bait until Rick got attached, which was honestly could have happened at any point before the opening of Season 2) I assume the reason he was ranting to Morty about the sauce was because he wanted to intimidate and control Morty, which in a way is itself revenge for Beth (I still don’t think that he loved or even liked Diane)

I miss how Justin did Rick's voice in earlier seasons. Now it sounds fairly similar to the Morty voice. Which I understand it probably takes a toll having to be that raspy all the time. But still

I think by "garage rant" they are specifically referring to the rants Rick would do at the beginning of every season until season 7. It was a tradition. So rants set in the middle of the series don't count.

It was less fluid and a little less polished, and even though I prefer the new look season 1’s style still holds a special place in my heart.
