+adamaj, technically there have been two different "dudes" that have hosted these segments in the past. In any case, all three do a good enough job that it's subject which one is better. Some of us prefer Cherie because she tends to geek-out a bit more on the astronomy and astrophysics than the other two.
3 different "dudes", if we're being pedantic. Dave Haddock, Will Weissbaum, and Adam Wieser. There is certainly a difference in lore mastery between them, with Dave Haddock being the best authority as Lead Writer. They also have very different personalities. I favor Cherie's episodes because of her enthusiasm, and the astronomical bits are great, too.
I'm not a fan of her personally. Nothing wrong with her or anything, but I just prefer the presentation of some of the other presenters. But its great that they cycle them all so everyone get a bit of what they like.

currently we are in alpha 2.4, planetary landing is coming in 3.0, leaving the solar system will be 4.0. probably a year at least until 4.0, release is probably 2 years away if not more.

@@Pig5432 it's literally confirmed PTU Q4 of 2022, and PU Q1 2023. Moondogg was just on the hype train of speculation, no one said it would come out in 2021..devs never said so, it was CZcamsrs who made wild assumptions and people thought it would be true. But, we have Chris Roberts' "Chairman's Letter" recently that states they've cracked persistence and the static mesh, which means they can confidently say now when Pyro will be out

Are their gonna be infested planets? It could add some tension and horror aspects :D
Like say its a very mineral rich planet, but its a fast rotating planet with 2hrs ish night day cycles. And these creatures in masses come out of nowhere and attack miners.
Just imagine. You and your mining guild start a big operation mining this planet, you started mining with your org. But a massive pirate fleet enters your radars, someone has tipped them off. They destroy all your escorts and manage to board the ship, you get into an escape pod. You land on the planets surface, and run to a wreck of a old capital ship. Night time arrives and you hear screeches, definitely not human. The shadows consume you, you draw your pistol and fire aimlessly, manage to take out a few but their is too many of those THINGS, your torn to pieces.

No info on horror on planet surface but I've heard them say that abandoned ships on space will have jump scares and aliens inside which it should be pretty cool.
Thanks for the great presentation Cherie - can't wait to see this in game. Since it takes about 5 hours for our sun's light to reach Pluto, hopefully it will be possible for some kind of early warning satellite system (given QT drive tech) for us to "duck and cover" flares.

So the gold horizon platform there is some sort of " mass effect OMEGA " space station , Nice i hope the inside will be interesting :)
little note: a nova is not an insta. event, just the core collapse part is, everything else takes hours to years.
like, parts of a second for core collapse, hours for the shockwave to reach the surface, weeks/months for max brightness and years afterglow.

Since pyro2 doesn’t have a core we can dig extremely deep for minerals. They should let us dig never ending tunnels and ruin the planet.

Do you know the different between promising a feature at launch and talking about ideas they have? Hint, this one is the ladder, nothing in this video is promised for launch. What happened to gaming community? It used to be a group of intelligent respectable people, now its filled with toxic morons who takes "i want to try to get this feature in my game" as "i swear x feature will be in the game at launch"
Brendan Forish I never said every feature of every planet will be ingame at launch. But these systems? Yes they will be because they're all part of the stretch goals and specifically say they are launch systems.
Gryphon0468 Ill bet there's fine print saying otherwise. Something like "the game is alpha everything is subject to change" Ill also bet not all the systems will make it into the game. Some will have issues that will render them not worth implementing. When it comes to software development, game development especially, not everything works out. Some things need to be cut no matter how much you don't want to.
Brendan Forish but they've already shown they can fully procedurally tender whole planets. What's stopping them? All they have to do is tweak it to produce something approximating their ideas then have their artists and content producers go in and fine tune it. If they can do it with one system they can do it with any number.
They need to bring her back for these.

That would require satellite network around the planet. But basically ship computer could map the planet from orbit and show the relative position when landed, based on that gathered information.

GamingBanana long stretch. Early 2017 is when 3.0 comes out (planetary landing, walking around, talking to people, etc) and squadron 42 (pretty much the campaign for the game) doesn't have a release date, but expect mid to late 2017. And during this time, they'll be releasing more planets to land on system by system. So the final game with everything in it should be released around 2018, but even before it's released, they'll still have plenty of content.

Any Dyson Spheres in Star Citizen? I looked and didn't see any but that doesn't really mean much.
Not any in the currently known systems. However the "map" technology should be able to support massive extraplanetary structures, so there's a possibility for something like that is possible in the future as they add discoverable new solar systems.

that's The goal. the only places we won,t be able to go is forbidden places like planetside bases or systems ruled by enemies. even the stars we can go, our ship will explode of course but CIG won't limit us to get close to a star or a super hot planet if we want to...

No problem. This game has a lot of goals, i do believe they will be able to hit their goals, but will take time, this game prolly will be out at the end of 2017 - mid 2018.

AsphaltSlayZ i think chris roberts stated that this game is not supposed to come out on console , ever . Maybe in 2-3 generations , when consoles are as powerful as current pcs , it miht be possible to crack a console and run star citizen on it , but you might as well play on pc .

And then , about the "it all feels like crap" , that's just personal preferences . Games that are more based around movement will feel better on consoles because joysticks provdie better mobility than keys , and games which are more based on aiming and shooting are easier with K+M .
I know it is unlikely that someone will read this but I feel like after seeing the "latest" citcon 2021 gameplay, the Information about Pyro III is no longer accurate and on the ARK starmap as well, the planet seems to no longer be a lava planet

klaiken989 AAA games usually take 4-6 years to make, sometimes longer. Star Citizen is the most ambitious game ever attempted. It's going to take some time to get it right. They plan to support the game for 10 years after release, so it's not like you won't be getting your money's worth.
