Part 1: • Sniper Nicholas Irving...
--------
In this clip, Nicholas Irving described his first deployment and how it wasn’t anything like he expected considering how the war movies depict it. He talked about getting off the plane and the scene being quiet and “nothing like war,” however, it was about 8 hours into his deployment that Nicholas got into his first firefight. He said it was about a week or so into things that he shot his first person.

Out of all the Vlad videos I've watched over the years, this is the first time where I'm literally waiting for the next video to upload
Him and sheek been my favorite that i anticipate the most
Same
Yup!
I love Vlad’s series when I’m feeling like that!
Shit makes me want to subscribe lol
Imagine being 18. Getting off a plane in the desert and 8 hrs later being in a fire fight. That's crazy.
This man a real slider
Imagine those 18yr old 88m in Iraq. Still don’t understand the courage or stupidity of them folks.
And it's about to happen again.... In Taiwan
😂
@@bph5070 I'm chilling in Taipei right now, calm down G.
I remember hearing about the reaper (nick irv) on my 2nd tour in Afghanistan. He’s the real thing. You’re a legend bro.
💯💪🏾🤞🏾
How this man conducts himself in this interview is a stark contrast to the turncoat gangsters Vlad usually interviews for his channel. There is no disillusions of grandeur or pompous attitude. This gentleman seems humble, honest, and unapologetically real. Big salute to this soldier 💪
That's probably because he's not a gangster...
@@bmurph1723 he is a killer though.
This is a real killer not someone who just barks
This is a prep for Americans especially Black & Brown for yet Another MASSIVE USA NEVER ENDING WAR UKRAINE.. USA has pushed NATO into permanent War. ZERO negotiation with Russia
.. DJ Vlad is clearly doing propaganda disguised .Noble Warrior shit ...When all we have ever done is Total Destruction.Rape & Mass Torture ,& Murder ..
.The First.German Tanks have rolled out of Germany into Eastern Europe since WW2 . On the side of Ukraine an openly Nazi State.
That's why all of a sudden Military Veterans Issue will be heavy on Bidens National Address...How to hood wink Black & Brown Americans into funding srning. killing & dying for Nazis is some sale .
Vlad is helping in thst endeavor.
@@ThaAJ510 probably cause Vlad not the person interviewing him. With the dumb laugh and stupid question
He said nah I did some killing on every deployment! Lmao Nick a beast
😂😂fr
Bro I fell out 🤣🤣
It seems like he has been able to make peace with his past and not let it fuck up his future. There are so many others that can't say that.
@@chrispickrell3137 he’s a fckn animal 💯🎯
Love the willingness to answer questions about a time period that had to be traumatic, most of us don’t know much about the military/war
I did 4 years in the Navy, it sucked. I didn't expect so many things.
Watch the Shawn Ryan Show and the team house it’s alot of former special operations and intel guys interviews their good asf
@@aaronjackson2052 I love the Shawn Ryan show.
And I'd recommend The Jocko Willink, Mike Ritland and Cleared Hot podcasts, too. You can get some really great interviews on all things military from them, too.
I hope that this will start something on Vlad's channel and that he'll start having a lot more different kinds of guests on a lot more often. Now that he's had on Nicholas Irving, I really hope he can get on Remi Adeleke and David Goggins, too!
I'd love to see him have on Wes Moore but he might be pretty busy now that he's the Governor of Maryland.
@@Hawkeyes319 how did it suck?
@Iyen Alfonso the hours, the people, the pay, etc. There were good times but the bad made it not worth it.
Shoutout to my veterans . We got off the plane in Baghdad and as soon as we got out we could hear explosions in the background . That’s when it hit me in the face that I was at war.

Man those Army Rangers are no joke. The training they do is unreal!
Saving Private Ryan for sure!
Yeah it’s all fun and games but mentally it will eat most of us up
As an Air Force vet, I'll tell you I APPRECIATED guys like this when I was deployed to the AOR. Stayed my happy ass on the base, INSIDE the wire with the McDonald's and the coffee shops, and the pool and the chow hall and the gym and the internet cafe. I will say, I felt somewhat guilty that I was getting the same hazardous duty pay as they were. These guys were putting their lives on the line daily, while my bitch ass chilled in a tent complaining about the intense heat outside and the lack of alcohol.
Lol at least you're honest
I agree! At least you honest, so I still thank you for your service. Btw, you did earn that hazardous pay. You were still in harms way inside the wire.
just because your role may not have been as crucial as the guys getting into the gunfights every single day doesnt mean you didnt help.
If you werent important you wouldnt have been there at all it's that simple in my mind.
@@eyesnearstactical facts war tactics involve air strikes and any base is a target.

Much respect to this guy. I've been watching him on another channel for a couple yrs now. I have firsthand knowledge of him being a well-respected dude in his city(SA). The gangsters and the cops both respect him.

I remember my first deployment too and how he describes coming into theatre is spot tf on. It felt like somebody put the biggest blow dryer they could possibly find in front of my face and turned it up as high as it could go.
And all that gear made it 10X worst
As a military vet, I can tell u deployment is scary as hell until you actually get there. I served a year on KNB Kuwait Naval Base Camp Patriot 09-10 CTG 56.5. When u get there they brief you on being in a theater zone do not pull over for police and if you leave the base u had to have a E5 or above and at minimum your M4 with a 9mm at your side.
Kuwait isn’t dangerous. Lmao it’s a fuckin vacation you must be finance or some shit talking like this. Don’t lie to these ppl about that bullshit deployment.
@@SRT_Powered Who lied about anything weirdo, No one said Kuwait was dangerous🤣😂, trust and believe your response clearly shows you can’t read. Also Kuwait wasn’t my only deployment Nancy just the first. Learn to read instead of racing to reply calling someone out. FYI I was a small boat engineer big guy!
Respect this guy so much and every soldier that put their lives on the line to protect their country and saves lives 🙏blessings

For all the bodies he has he's so chill. Mind of stone
Lovin this interview! 💪🏽👍🏽✊🏽
The Reaper is a nickname of his, that he earned while being out in the field. Because of how much of a killing machine he was, and the things he did to protect and serve his country... And most importantly he did what he had to do by any means to protect and serve his country and without a doubt make it home safely
@1:24 " yeah I'd did some killing" is craziest humble flex ever lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
I remember dming him before I joined and he answered we had a dope lil convo but in the Army world he's like a LeBron y'all don't understand
I've never even served and I know his name is the truth
Hell ya I heard of buddy
He bringing back my memories man dang
This man is a TRUE war hero, very fascinating life story he should write a book.
I see him being a reoccurring guest fersure…💯
It’s like that in Afghanistan. Only night missions for the most part and that’s because it’s harder to see us mobilizing. Trying to fight the taliban in the daytime in their country is suicide for the most part. You’ll get shot and snipe from places in the mountains you can barely see. They know their land
Nah fr especially if they catch us with the sun to their backs and some high ground🤦🏿♂️
Right. They dropped off the Soviets too

Tikrit? So he was where I was at for a bit. I was over there during OIF III. I was at Speicher. Speicher wasn't bad. We had our mortar round attacks in whatnot, but overall our convoys to the local FOBs north and south of us wasn't bad. It was when we started doing convoys to and from LSA Anaconda where we were getting the IED attacks. But the real fighting was at Fallujah and Ramadi. Good times.
Interviewer is trying to prove how smart he is instead of asking questions and letting Nicholas answer them
Asking if he killed anyone before deployment is quintessential officer glad line of questioning. Wild.
@@alexred1038 That question had me scratching my head…so you asking if he murdered anyone before he deployed? Made zero sense to me

Platoon is one of the few movies that depicted the Vietnam War as honest as possible
Platoon was good too
And the fact that the director, Oliver Stone, was a real soldier who served in Vietnam and that the military consultant, Dale Dye( who also acted in the movie as Captain Harris) was also a marine in Vietnam, helped with the realism. It's one of my favorite war movies.
“ we only did missions at night, I never saw Iraq in the day time” man he lived in the shadows
He's so calm 🤔
The “excuse me..” took me out lol needed a little comedic relief.
Platoon was good but I was always a “Boys in Company C” and Born on the 4th of July fan.
