Nick Irving definitely seems like a cool guy to hang out with for an afternoon and have a conversation with. I listened to both the Reaper and The Way of The Reaper on audio book after he was on DemoRanch. Seems like a guy that can express his opinion in a well thought out and logical way with out just reacting. I completely agree with him on the social media points.
“Sniper” From a military mom, can I just say thank you? Thank you for your service, Nick! And than you Granger for your support of the our military men and women who put their lives on the line for us so we can enjoy our freedom and live our dreams!

SNIPER! This is an amazing podcast! I love Nick's story, his perspective, his motivation, and his courage. It always amazes me how soldiers come back from combat, after killing so many people in the name of freedom, AND being hunted themselves, and resume their "normal" life and routine. It takes so much strength and determination to transition from being in a place where everyone wants to kill you, back to normal, everyday life at home. I know that isn't easy, but as a soldier, you learn to adapt quickly to new environments, and that applies to battle and to returning home from deployment.
💙 Thank you Nick, for your service. 💙 Thank you for sharing your amazing story and for your openness and willingness to talk about your experiences, both good and bad. May God bless you. May God bless those who come home, but never truly come back. May God bless those who lose their life, whether in a combat situation or from PTSD. May God bless those who are currently fighting for our freedom and our country. May God bless the thousands who have fought for our country and our freedom. We see and hear so much about war and death, we've become complacent and numb. Every day, soldiers are dying for our freedom, but we'll never know their name. Freedom isn't cheap and many pay the ultimate price so you and I can live our lives without fear.

Hi Granger Smith, and everyone I have a question. I'm from Tennessee but live in California been here since 03, I don't hunt (sadly) because I physically I have health Issues. I don't know how to fish ( yet) but I wanna learn I ain't much for campin but I see myself as country. I love country music, grow up on it all my life (I'm 28).
I know country ain't where you're from, what you wear or how you talk but I've always believed that it's in your heart and your soul. But how do you tell someone (guy or girl) your country but not like so and so? I'd love to be YEE YEE but I don't know if I qualify.

Hey. If you’re here, you’re country. And more than that you are YEE YEE nation.
Like you said, it’s not about all the cliches. It’s the heart and soul.
You don’t have to tell anyone you’re country. You just be yourself and listen to what you want and like what you want. Let them find out in the mix of it all and it won’t be a “thing”. If it is, it’s not someone worth you’re time.

Watching these two both struggle for a second and come to tears and just have so much love in their eyes for eachother in that moment you’d probably never believe in a million years that the military calls this guy the reaper.
That was hard moment to watch but, like it felt necessary for the both of them to have it.

This is probably one of my favorite podcasts. Being a veteran, it really hit me. Now I have to go read his book.
I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this really wonderful and well-thought out, amazingly executed conversation between two intellectual men coming from very different perspectives in many ways. I have never heard of Granger Smith before this video (and I've obviously heard of Nick Irving - legend) and I'm so glad I stumbled across this channel. What a great video this was to watch. Thank you for this meditation of a conversation. Side note, that intro music is badass. I'm guessing that's Granger's stuff? Really good.
I can watch this over and over again knowing that I also served overseas in a combat zone. Thanks Sniper for the words of encouragement and tip for dealing with the vision that are always in my head.

Sniper. Hey Granger, your music has always been something I can turn to when I'm having a hard day or rough patch in my life. A lot of your songs mean a lot to me. The song that meant the most to me was Heaven Bound Balloons. I've lost a lot of people and my favorite cows that I raised and every time I listen to that song I think of them and wish they were still here. But I know it's better for them up their in heaven. On my wedding day (which will be several years from now) I wanna do a balloon launch like you did in your music video. I think it would be a really cool idea to bring to a happy time and to show people that I also care about how people feel when they lose a loved one.
One more thing. That was an amazing podcast. A lot of great points and a lot of things to think about. Thank you for everything you do in the music industry.
