First off happy birthday to Cado the Shiba! (and Alex his dad)
In todays video I wanted to let y'all know the three biggest mistakes I made when I first got my puppy. I think these mistakes a very common for first time dog owners so why not share them with everyone so they can avoid them too. Let me know it the comments if you have any questions or you've made any big mistakes when you first got your puppy so when can all learn from each other too! :)

My Shiba SCREAMS when she gets a bath!! I tried to get her used to water as a puppy but it didn’t work. It’s highly embarrassing because she sounds like she’s being tortured. Otherwise she’s extremely sweet, well behaved & hardly ever makes a sound!❤️
What mistakes did y'all make with your first puppies??
One mistake I know we did and was very much like first part of this video. In that my mom had dogs around while I was growing up, but none of them really were use to water.

Blackroses yeah it’s very common for dogs to not like water just keep up the training & good luck! :)
I made a mistake that's I never thought through after fostering my girl and her 4 siblings. I knew I was keeping my girl and one sibling was adopted out at first, but the other 3 were all adopted out on the same weekend a few weeks later. My girl, Honi (means Kiss in Hawaiian) then came home to the only home she'd ever known with her siblings and mom - but everyone else was gone. She went through a bit of a depression and man, did I feel like a horrible fur-parent!

I'm about to get my puppy in a few weeks, and I definitely have been looking into emergency insurance for him. I'm sorry for being nosy, but was the $3k you spent on Tori for basic things like checkups, or did it escalate beyond that?
I was recommended to really get into dental care (so like teeth brushing and saving up for yearly cleanings after he's 2) for my shiba by my bf who's studying to be a vet, and worked as an assistant in a vet clinic for ~2 years, because shibas tend to be more prone to tooth issues as they get older. He also recommended for me to look into insurances that have really good dental coverage.
Also, I saw your other video regarding Tori and the dog park. I'm happy to hear she's recovering well and wasn't traumatized from both incidents. I've read about how Shibas are more likely to develop aggression problems as they get older and from certain events, so I'm so happy you have a little unicorn puppy that can withstand that trauma. Lots of peace and love man
I wish I would’ve gotten insurance! 3k was all the vet visits, depending on where you go tho (mine was expensive af) 😢 but if you do a lot of research, and ask around you can probably mimimize the vet visits. But as a first time dog owner it was a Lil scary

My job offers pet insurance. So yup! I enrolled my Shiba, Zoey. $20 per paycheck. I won't see those huge vet bills I've once seen with my other pooch.

Yep she’s full size at 15lbs! She was a runt of her litter

It was a zoom groom brush! There really good for getting their undercoat 👍🏾
