Great to hear a vocal by Phil....so now he is 71.... how come I am still 24? Oh wait a second, I am 63... what a long strange wonderful trip it has been.
i was there gratefully sober
It's never too late...wharf rat since 9.19.98 Robert H.
Happy 84th Phil!
This show was fun. God, I was 20. Today Phil turns 73, so that makes me.... FUCKING OLD
Awesome fricken show, I was there on the third row. We sang happy birthday to Phil at the start of the second set. Was the best dead show I ever attended. Thanks for posting!
Jerry's Baby Blue, Bobby's Queen Jane and Phil'sTom Thumb's Blues- 3 perfect Dylan covers
Bobby's Desolation Row is right up there.
What about Weir's Desolation Row, Garcia's She Belongs to Me
His best friend the drummer couldn't even tell him what he dropped. Excellent ad lib by Phil. Outstanding Tom Thumb's blues! Thanks for the post, PanamaRed.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHIL!
And thanks to you, Larry. When security did their sweep(looking for smokers not videotapers, I suppose) during the Black-throated Wind, I nearly and truly lost it. But didn't. Thanks again, all these years later.
phil straight from the heart and a beautiful deep voice
this was the day i was born! 50 years older than me, keep on truckin' phil.
This was the best i ever saw. And i saw close to a hundred. It was Phil's 50th b-dayand they closed with Revolution and Jerry was dancing.

Today is the 30th anniversary of Phil's 50th birthday!
Special thanks to Larry G of Deadstein for his inspiration and for keeping his eyes open. The yellow-coats never had a chance.
I forget the incident but I can imagine it. So much blur if you know what I mean. It's still a blessing that you got whatever videos you got so in whatever aspect I helped out I'm glad I did. Let's get together soon.
Man. Oh man. They'd surely make a mess out of you...
this song feels the way a london fog smells
Come to think of it, these were the shows that I first met Sarah, thanks to Larry Menaker, and picked her up at Metropark in NJ and drove her down to Landover. My brother got married the next week and I had to miss the 3-24-90 Albany show due to his wedding. It's all coming back, security guards during the black throated wind. Are you saying you kept rolling during the intrusion?
Check out Medicine Head's version; I shall not blaspheme.
What happened to Heineken?
The outcome makes the hair on my neck shimy
lol seems to be the way things roll. was this before or afrer they did cats - you remember ?
They got some hungry creatures there, they'll surely make a mess out of you
