  • This is Germains Big Turbo TT
    500 BHP generated by a Garrett G25-660 turbo, with all the goodies. Built by the guys at Badger 5. we needed to fit a new gearbox, so while i was there i wanted to share it with you guys. It was great to take it for a spin as well!

    I'm following a similar upgrade path so I'm glad to see confirmation of the 500 bhp. Keep up the content as these old bugs are immensely fun to drive and quicker handling than most as they were designed for the Isle of Man TT(duh). Once I've got mine rolling I'll take a road trip to the mts of West Virgina just to see how it climbs.

    Had a run in with this tt by silvertown yesterday. Looks lovely sounds the nuts and it's rapid!! Left my tt like I was sitting still I mean I'm only 270 bhp but the difference was madness.. and I could tell he wasn't even trying . Cars a beast ! Love it.... I got smoooked

    I love how he can switch between tunes with cruise control. I have been doing research on ignitron for my 1.8t MK1 GTX3071R & I think I might be sold. Great content

      APR maps allow you to switch between modes

    your tt is my inspiration, im rocking the 380 hybrid atm, kinda wished i planned for big turbo to begin with tho. im at 350 atm hoping for 380 to 390 after the latest round of mods

      @@paulknight7535 yeah, the car drives nicely off boost, and is an animal on boost. If it was me I would go for a 550, and sacrifice peak bhp for a slightly earlier spool, but for track work the 660 will happily be in usable power band

      Excellent I'm looking g25-550 full build but I really don't want wmi my budget is good but I don't want to end up losing drivability .

    Great video, thank you. I didn't realise Royal Mail workers got paid that much :) Really tempted to get Bill at B5 to sort my Cupra R out but i'd be looking at the 360-380 bhp mark, so interested in his previous setup. Wonder if this setup really cost a ton more or was just a step up that built on the 380 setup.

      Stage 2 up to 300bhp is the most cost effective, you need 10k to go to this red monster.

    Hello nice videos. I bought a mamba turbo ko4 with the out diameter of the turbo inlet is 50mm wide. it is a Audi tt 1.8t 2006 FWD. can you show me a turbo intake hose that will connect to the 50mm or 2" end that goes to the turbo? I see all these hoses online but they are all 45 mm at the turbo side.

    Hello I am looking for a turbo inlet hose to the turbo that is 50mm or 2" for an 2006 Audi TT I took the ko3 out but now the TIP on the turbo is larger. Car is at the mechanic right now and trying to figure out what I do for a turbo intake pipe or tip to connect to the Mamba 4660 extreme turbo

      Nah, no need to add expense of seals and fluid, it's a bit more fiddly on this one because of the downpipe situation, but it's still the easiest way and the way I do it every time

      BWS TT cool, each to their own. I must have done my S3 clutch 8 times, always re-use the o rings with a wee bit sealant on them. Don’t mind giving the gearbox oil a flush either.

      @James Chaffe when it's your own it's a risk you can take, but for customers I couldn't chance it- last thing I wanna do is lose a day's labour to go and sort out some seals. I do discuss both options on my clutch change guide, and for some people that will be the easier way

    Hi, I was searching on You Tube and came across your page. I have got an Audi TT Auto, 2009 with similar problem and same faulty code (P2711) Dual Clutch. The car does not go into Reverse. Is this something can be fixed and will you be able to fix this issue? Car is in London and I would appreiate if you let me knoww how much does it cost?

    Hello! My current set up is with g25-660 on a stroked to 2 liters 1.8t. Tried to tune it with the stock me7.5, it didn't happen good, and now I'm breaking in a second stroker... and waiting for link ecu. I want to ask some question about the car if possible: 1: What is done to the head?
    2. What is the boost pressure on the high setting, because I didn't hear that in the video?
    3. What are the pistons?
    4. What is the rpm limit?
    5. Are any performance measurements done? Quarter mile, 0-100, 100-200 (km/h) or the mph equivalent of course 😁.

      Is the TT much different to the Leon Cupra R mk1? I thought they had the same front end .my mechanic has had my gearbox and clutch off a few times (long story why) and he can do it in less than a hour.

      @@webdesignengineeringservic6515 the cupra is a front wheel drive setup, the TT is Quattro. It's the Quattro aspect (the transfer box) that restricts the job

      The ignitron *is* an aftermarket ecu, highly recommended for such a build.

    So its about 4k RPM that it really takes off? I'm just trying to gauge how it compares to the BBTR K418T K04 hybrid in my S3 which takes off at 3.5k RPM. I'd love to upgrade to a G25-550.

      It's simple, volume is king. He wants to draw in as much air as possible without restriction, then the combination of a massive intercooler and the water meth injection get the air nice and cold in time for the intake manifold

      It spools before 5k rpm. At 3k rpm its got more power than a k04 hybrid, at just over 4k its at full boost. This was on 1.8 displacement still, you should see it now that its on a 2.1 with a g30-770! Currently 666bhp on race fuel

      Ignitron ecu 1500, G25 another 1500, forging the engine probably 2k, fmic 400-600, add another 1000 for exhaust, 400 for fuel pump and thats just not even half of it.

      He's chasing higher currently, so maybe not.... It pulled a healthy 511 on the rollers last weekend, but before more can be added, the gearbox needs to be addressed!

    Only one person mentioned the gearbox so I’ll be the second. This video was created because the gearbox failed. It’s a big job labour-wise so I wouldn’t like to do it again. So? Checked/upgraded etc
