    My uncle was brutally murdered in 1984 unsolved in his home on burns and I will never give up on getting his case opened knowing there is a file and dna that can be tested.

      He was stabbed and found with a plastic bag over his head in his kitchen. He had just been dropped off so we aren't sure if someone followed him in or was already in his house.

    My Grandparents lived here. Glad to see this historic area of East Detroit hasn't been relegated to the dust bin of history like the rest of the surrounding area.

    This is what all of Detroit should look like...beautiful classic homes & great streets, property areas and street signs.
    What's the sad shame is what a large area of the city looks like from many other CZcams videos...all meant to tell us that the city is in trouble and has been for 30 - 40 plus years.
    Anyway...the driver of the van "slipped on through" a few stop signs. Oops!

    Beautiful homes. Looks almost identical to homes in Walkerville across the river. (Windsor, Ontario)

    Do people still live there these days? The area looks empty, and there are very few cars parked.

      @@jodyswan5863 Thanks for the response. Nice to hear it, the area looks beautiful. It robably looks even better in winter when there's snow on the trees and streets and houses are lit.

    It's a good thing some of the homeowners spent their own money on private streetlights. That place would be black as pitch after dark without them. A major American city that can't afford streetlights.

      You're a dumbass, the city just got new LED lights. The city now has better lighting than any other city in America.

    • @sarjim4381

      Do you have a link to a story that says Detroit has better street lighting than any other city in America?

      The story merely said the city now has 100% LED lights. It said nothing about Detroit having "better street lighting than any other city in America". Do you live in Detroit? If so, how much driving in the neighborhoods do you after dark? You might also note that the majority of the costs were paid for by state and federal taxpayers.

    • @kennethbyer7725
      @kennethbyer7725 Před 7 lety +2

      LED lights are more energy efficient and brighter than conventional street lights, it's going to save the city millions every year in costs. AKA it's a big advantage for the city which is why it's much better.
      Cool? You realize every city gets federal money to aid in infrastructure projects like this, it's why we pay federal taxes.

    I grew up there and enjoyed it. Issue is it is surrounded by a rough area. I only hope the people there now do not think they are safe.
