When we began filming this video, we hit 10,000 subscribers! Somehow, before we were able to upload this weeks video, the subscriber god blessed us with another 10,000! lol But in all seriousness, we can't believe how much we have grown! Thank you guys so much!
In this episode, Spenser bridged the center section of our shipping container home floor. We also did some cleaning up around the barn. There was a fallen tree and some much needed landscaping that we needed to take care of. Once those tasks were completed, we began supporting the cutouts of our shipping containers! - Zábava

That is crazy never seen a channel jump so fast from 10 to 20k, maybe its delayed and will soon hit 30K
Life Uncontained you guys are awesome !
You have 21,000 subscribers congratulation 👏🏻
I' very impressed with what you guys have been able to accomplish. Give yourself a big pat on the back. THANKS for the inspiration......
Life Uncontained your welcome how long have you guys been married for?
Came across this channel in August 2021.I had to go back and start watching from the beginning of their journey. Am from Kenya 🇰🇪
just found this series in 2021 about to binge-watch all of what is available for this build. loving it so far
6:25 when pulling something out throw a moving blanket or something over the chain/rope so if it snaps there is something to dampen it from going into the back of the car or people.
Hey I love the videos! My girlfriend and I are looking to do this in the future also! I'm wondering if you guys can put all your videos in a playlist (chronological order) it would definitely allow us to just plop it on and watch it more freely
I love your channel! You guys are funny, relaxed and never complain how difficult a job is!
You two are a hoot. Great content and great humor from Miss McKenzie. Keep it up.
My wife and I are following, planning our diy home. Thank you for sharing!
I just started watching your videos couple weeks ago and I went back and caught all the way up and I love these videos!! I am in the process of something similar and your videos are very helpful!
Strait up my sister's avenue. You've got her mentality. Great job you two!
Love you guys already. Seems such a wonderful journey you are sharing together and with us. Keep it up! Puns!!!
One thing you'll learn real quick is that everyone on CZcams is a expert. Not the content creators but the viewers. Each and every one are pure genius and always know what they're talking about. With that said I'm glad you did your own research and came to your own conclusions. Don't get me wrong, you can learn a lot for people in the comments, but the people in the comments can hinder you as much as help you. Just keep that in mind and you'll be fine!!
Great news on 10k subs by the way. 100k is just around the corner now!
True and anyone who is not a skilled metal worker or has other personal experience should not post at all.
*an expert
So true
Excellent work on the bracing, happy to see you guys going with this solution. Perfect.

U two are awesome!!! Just happened to stumble upon your channel and I love it! Two hard, hard workers no doubt. Keep up the hard work it will all be worth it at the end.
Love that nature around, great job you doing there. Thumbs up
I know this is an old vlog but I do love to see a Gen 2 CRV pulling that tree.
I love how smart and creative some people are. Instead of taking loans for life, you build your own house, you wont have to work your whole life like others, you will actually be able to enjoy it more and be happy. :) free of high bills and stuff. Im gonna build my own in 3 years when im done raising money, however its not gonna be from containers, also quite small though
I worked with shipping containers for many years and there really isn’t anything structural in the side panels the whole container is reinforced along the edges. The support needed is minimal.
Great job guys it’s really coming together.
mavos1211 the panel having striations is what makes the center structural like the mega rib design that most of those containers have how would someone that’s worked with something for years not know this
@@TheTinkle1 To an extent. The strongest points of a container are the corners where load locks are placed. Going along the edges, they are stong but not near as strong. Majority weight is never on the long edges but in the corners. The edges just prevent folding under load which maybe 50,000lbs. have to look at my containers sticker for weight capacity. Having been around enough containers, they are all pretty beaten up for the thin walls to be of any actual support of any kind.
that fencing can be done in a circle or square about 12 foot across for a compost pile. I have one I heap over full each fall with oak leaves, 10 years resulted in 1 foot of rich compost to be put in the garden.

I really admire how u both do good jobs, it need patience , creativity n knowledge to built container home..i m becoming addicted looking you both do the job...really admire how you can convert container into home sweet home...keep the good job..

Yep, had a chocolate who barked and wined as he followed me on a forklift at work, or when I moved my car without him in it. They're not very smart but dedicated to the core and lovable as can be!
i love that u2 are doing all the building urselves...so cool!
Love ur show! Just binged watch all episodes, learning tons from u guys keep it up!
Congrats on reaching 20k so quickly guys, just goes to show how much interest there is in container builds.
Part of my work here in the UK is converting containers into offices/studios/summerhouse/classrooms from a single 20ft unit, and even then, cutting side panels out weakens the structure quite a bit, so generally we leave 8" or so along the roof line, and weld in extra box section to frame the opening, then solid plate from that to the roof box section. We do put a lot of weight on top in the form of a living roof though, it's great for insulating against the heat of summer and cold of winter!
All the best in your endevour, I will be following with interest! ;)
You two are lucky to have each other, wish you all the best!😀😀
I have a 2003 CRV 4x4. The thing is a BEAST. Big ole 2.4L engine. Heck yeah.
Did you guys notice a increase of vibration on the floor after taking the wall off and before welding the columns? we took only like one third of what you took off and we felt a lot of vibration. But after we welded a reinforcement column it went back to normal. By the way, congrats on such an amazing growth of the channel.
Odd Life Crafting thank you guys! Actually no we didn’t realize any extra vibrations but we had welded our containers to the foundation. The roof did have slightly more movement once we made the cuts but that was quickly solved once we welded in the square tubing. Looking forward to your new video!
Ohh you have extra footings thats right. We have footing every 6 meters that must be why you had no problem and we had. Nice. This week's video is up. Hope you guys like it!!
Odd Life Craf
Wow! Since I’ve been watching y’all you’ve jumped up 20,000 subbies!! I’ve been watching for 3days now. That’s amazing y’all. I definitely know why people wanna watch though! 💕💕💕💕💕
The reason you have this many of subscribers is because of the content of your channel, Living in a Tiny House and in a container even, is actually very interesting to watch.
I really hope that you will finish your house,
This is channel is very interesting and fun to watch and also informative
Keep up the good work guys!!!
You got Spencer some poles to finally grind properly on, hope you got deep pockets, make it rain, lol. Great job on your journey so far. Love the content. You two a great.
awesome project ! congratulations to you both!! the chap is so lucky to have an apprentice with great sense of humour :) :)
I ran across a random vid from ur page and became instantly hooked....happy to c u both working hard to achieve your dreamz....keepum coming !
Having been raised in the construction business, and in Texas, I would have chosen untreated wood as well and for the very same reasons. I feel the steel posts are a bit of an overkill unless there will ultimately be no wood framing in their stead, but I sure recon the steel won't do any harm either.
These containers can hold 30 tons, but the frame can withstand about 300 tons. You won't have any issues there guys. You can stack 5 more containers on top and it's still a lot stronger than your house.
looking awesome. i am hopefully getting a conex in a few weeks and will be using your videos as my starting point.
Perhaps Rural King will send you a tractor to perform extended tests and reviews on for a couple years so you so you can stop wearing out the transmission in the poor CRV.
10,000 subscribers? LoL you guys will be hitting a MILLION soon!
Looking forward to seeing you complete this project
Thank you for showing us your project
Get the chainsaw out, that’s fire wood 🪵 Great job y’all , the containers are really coming along. I hope we get to meet grandpa one day, he comes in clutch! I’ve watched several container builds, and I’m sure y’all know you can always build up if needed. 👍👍👍
Awesome channel, finished watching all your videos in less than two days, keep up the great work. Love it
Great progress! And I'm not gonna throw any shade your way over stressing out your CR-V's transmission pulling that tree. I'm impressed that it even could. Congrats on using what you have to get what you want! A chainsaw could be a really solid investment (or target for borrowing), just sayin'. Otherwise, I think that the property is looking awesome and the build is coming along really well too. Great stuff! I've never dreamed of building a container home until I started watching you.
P.S. And while I feel like I'm an above average DIY homeowner and have been able to fix mostly everything in my house the past 18-years, Spencer solve a problem - bridging the center - in a way that I'd have never thought of. Staggering the supports. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.
very good video, progress and explanation from both of you, and your attention to detail, looking forward to your next video of your roof building,
This channel is awesome, really enjoying it. This video is the first one where the music isn't blasting. I hope this is the new norm. Keep up the great work and comedy, it's infectious!
A drag will make short work of clearing out that spot. I love your lil yard tractor. I used my jeep as a yard tractor when I bought my first property.
Great work glad you welded in those supports .... 👍
We wanted to go inside an already finishe container home to get the feel of how big they are and ironically we were in one and didn’t know it.
We recently went to a beach bar in snt. Pete called Fergs bar and low and behold it’s a giant open container building. It’s massive and gotta be more than 8 -40’ers easily.
Once finished you can’t even tell what it is.
Congratulations on 10,000 subscribers, but it now shows that you have 20,000!
weedygarden read their comment again.
[... observing a moment of silence for your Honda CRV's transmission...]
10k subs? You're already at 21k now and you will be at half a million in no time. Great channel, fun to watch. Keep it up guys! Congratulations and many thanks.
What a cool project.
COVID binge watching - thank goodness I found this channel. You guys are HILARIOUS!!
Congrats on you 20k+ You guys have an awesome channel and I'm always waiting for the next video on your progress👍👍 A big hello from South Texas...
You guys are a nice couple.... Your proyect is fantastic!!! Good luck!!!
YOU ARE DOING FINE ON YOUR BUILD. THOSE CONTAINERS ARE VERY STRONG. DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE UP INTO ONE WHILE YOU ARE WORKING AND PROVE IT. YOU COULD BUILD A SMALL BODY SHOP OUT OF THOSE CONTAINERS.
I love what yall are doing and your chemistry
Just started watching your videos and I am enjoying them
2october6 %% mom',k'
U guys are great doing it just the two of u together .. Relationship goals 😇😇❤❤❤
I'm glad you were still.laughing after that strap snapped... snapping straps under load are no joke..
I think most of the concern about structural integrity was based on the idea that you may want to build on top of the containers, and that the support would be needed for the weight of the structure and whatever else you would have on top of the containers. Your solution definitely satisfies that need.
I have now watched and liked all of your videos, and feel I am caught up to present. I look forward to seeing what comes next. Also, I don't know if you read comments on previous videos, but I did leave a comment on some of them.
Love Mackenzie, she must be a joy to have around. Spenser keep up the good work lad
This is my dream one day! By far my new favorite channel🙌🏽
that little crv is getting put thru the paces! kinda hard on the transmission to be pulling logs with it but its nice to see people utilizing what they have to its fullest.
You should look into a old military truck like the M35A2 that is a multifuel. Runs on most any flammable liquid from used motor oils, gas, diesel, vegi oil, transmission fluid, ect ect. I run mine on a mixture off everything together. I use it as a daily driver too. Nothing better than free fuel from all my mechanic friends giving me their old used flammables.
WOW! Now already to 30K!! Woot, WOOT to you both!
I really enjoy all of your videos, this one is too short ha ha. The longer the better, thanks for taking the time to make them and bring us along with the build.
You did a fantastic amount of landscape work. Clearly you are both hard workers. Where are you showering during all of this time?
the dog freaking out that's the biggest stick i ever saw
Very entertaining. Watched all of the progress so far. Awesome project. Actually laughed out loud on the ending music fake-out with the generator running out of gas.
Just wanted to say hello from Cincinnati, looks good keep it up
Can't wait for more video's. You guys are awesome.
~~AWESOME~~
I Love What You Guys Are Doing... So Cool!!!
No se lo que dicen pero no me importa la pareja más trabajadora que e visto que buen progreso con su casa y su familia los felicito
Good morning from St John Parish, Louisiana.
I like the CRV log pull. You will really need a truck in the near future. I have a CRV that I use for picking stuff up. Without the front and rear seat, you can easily lay down 8' studs in there.
Mackenzie and Spenser congratulations 🎉🎊🎈🍾 on 20k subs, Mackenzie you bring humor to the videos, and Spenser works, so it evens out. But I’m still LOVING your channel.
BLOND HUMOR
She is funny and that’s why I enjoy watching the channel
New subscriber I love the fact that you use at years Honda CRV it is a beast I have two one with 251 with 340 and they are still running strong I love with you guys are doing keep up the videos👏🏿👏🏿
You guys are some hard working folks!
I watched one video and was hooked on you guys. Y’all are awesome keep going
It would have been brilliant to have a third container sitting on the other two for an upstairs room, then hand rails fitted for verandahs and sundeck for better views, drinks and relaxing.
Not really. You'd need to build a deck on top because container roofs are thin and easily dented by foot traffic which causes water "ponding" and corrosion. I own four containers including two 40' High Cubes I joined as a shop.
@@obfuscated3090 Got any pics?
Y'all are making good progress.. Thanks
You're a lucky dude, Spencer. You have a good looking lady that works her ass off. The whole project looks fantastic. Very clever
My wife and I started looking into container homes not to long ago....I started looking for ideas and I came across your videos... great to watch your journey..
Thank you for sharing your amazing video. God bless you and your family joined
I have binged watched all of your videos and I must admit it took me a minute to commit, but Bear won me over. He is the star and those darn cows 💖 and oh yeah you guys are good too. 😂😂😂
