Thanks for actually testing it! It's very frustrating to be looking for reviews and find people saying things like "Looks great!"
I don't care how it looks! I care if it saves me and my family in a fire!

How did this not get lots of likes??? It was a very cool alarm

Photoelectric smoke detectors are meant to detect slow, smoldering fires that cools be why you had to use so much canned smoke they are designed to cut down on false alarms in areas like kitchens etc ionizations are the ones that detect fast fires

I wish they had some online instructions that go into details. How are the detectors talking to each other? Is this over WiFi or their own 915~ MHz interconnect? I would worry if they use the wifi router as power to the house or the router itself may be one of the first things to go in a fire. The Wireless Interconnect sets up as a mesh so each interconnected alarm will start sending out a signal once it is triggered and this is without relying on external power or a wireless router, bluetooth, home hub etc..
But thank you for the video, I think I am going to sit out the Onelink and wish Leeo would somehow come back with a simple to set up and 100% functional device that integrates easily into any house that already has built in smoke detectors. Onelink doesnt seem quite ready for prime time. It doesnt even seem that the Onelink detectors interconnect with wired ones on the same system. Also, it doesnt seem that the Roost smoke detector batteries are available anymore. :-( Nor does Onelink seem to integrate with Google Assistant so, they are kind of locking out 71% of the world smart phones.

Generally they these types of devices will interconnect to each other via their own RF and one will talk to the wifi access point to update the app. I have had some luck testing X Sense smoke detectors if you are looking for another option.

The alarm is something I would hear when you are about to launch a nuclear missile.

What is best one to buy??? I am wanting to get away from nest myself.

Honestly I went to the nest one from this. Was not supper happy with the Onelink. If you are looking for a differnt company Xsense has some pretty good ones. I have tested an interconnected one it just did not have an app. But they do have versions that do. czcams.com/video/_VPgj2YQX38/video.html

If this product connects to HomeKit, you can configure to send you push notifications using Apple Home app. I don’t understand why everyone cares about native app’s push notifications.
It’s only the one product that Apple recommends for buying on their site.
Is it so important to get push notifications from native app?
Actually I don’t understand why did you buy it and test using Android device.

      @Wanderer001_Reviews  Před 3 lety +3

It's important for the native app to do push notifications because not everybody has an Apple device. In my case I tested it using an Android device because that is my primary phone. I was looking for an alternative to The Nest smoke detector. Which does support native app push notifications.

Dette er bare en røyk- og karbondioksyddetektor. Den sjekker ikke for radongass. Appen er en tredjepartsapp, men fungerer ikke bra.

@@Wanderer001_Reviewshe is discussing commercial fire alarms, since the commercial fire alarms market is a lot larger than the residential market, EST, Simplex, System Sensor, Wheelock, ETC have different sounds. As long as they sound in a T3 pattern, it is up to code.
For residential, the same applies, however since first alert and kidde dominate the residential market, most detectors sound similar.

Great review! Sucks that in reality this thing is complete garbage. Smart detector that didn't notify on phone lol. Shouldn't need to have apple! It should just work regardless of brand of phone you have.

I have a wired version which won't pair to WiFi network no matter what. Just a dumb detector.
