  • Just some of my thoughts on one of the greatest movies of all time, Citizen Kane. I think this film really did cement a lot of our visual grammar and film-making techniques. A revolution in filmic storytelling, Citizen Kane definitely pioneered a lot. But it also took a lot of previously existing methods and breakthroughs and perfected them by creating a new way of making auteur-ing movies. No film before it had such a unique visual style while keeping a realistic feeling and mood. The obvious influence it had on such directors as David Fincher and Steven Spielberg, and even some contemporaries who were breaking ground of their own, like Hitchcock, shows how Citizen Kane changed the way movies were made forever.
Citizen Kane is a 1941 American drama film by Orson Welles, its producer, co-screenwriter, director and star. Starring mostly radio stars from the Mercury Theatre Troupe, who later became well-known in their own rights. Actors such as Joseph Cotten, Dorothy Comingore, Everett Sloane, Ray Collins, George Coulouris and Agnes Moorehead.

Despite the headaches it caused...Orson made this at 26...that is incredible...the man was a absolute genius.😊😊
