Gay Meadow the iconic former stadium of Shrewsbury Town Football Club was demolished in 2007. What is now where this picturesque jewell of stadium once was?

With regards to the overhead shots, it would have been really good to see a semi-transparent image of the ground overlaid on top of the housing development to see how the two compare.

I remember going there in the late eighties. It was possible to access the stadium via a path from the station platforms without having to walk through the town centre.

For me this is really interesting
I think Shrewsbury is a really lovely town.
Great place for football, I enjoyed following my club there.
I like the new ground.
The town reminded me of the Uk prior to the credit crunch! Great night life still

oh what memories, saw Arthur Rowley score h is record goal, saw us become league two champions there and get into what's now the championship, beating Everton in the FA cup, lovely little ground.
