That change duration tip was the bomb. I’ve been changing my R5 clips to about 108% percent manually with the scale slider in a 4K timeline. Thanks a lot Tyler, great video!
Every time I watch your FCP tutorials I discover a hidden gem in the software. This time it was changing the duration of the clips all at once. Thanks so much 🙏
There’s no other reason to look at another filmmaker videos again !!! Thus fast this was THE BEST tutorial I’ve ever seen for making reels and videos !!! Thank you 🙏🏾
You are my Final Cut Pro guy. Period. Unbelievable that you post these videos for free👏
He actually gets paid for this🤭
@@miguelatino I think they meant that it’s free for us, atleast how I read it
This video should be seen by anyone learning FinalCut. Pure gold! Thank you!
You don’t know how much easier you’ve just made my life! Thanks for this! I had to favorite this video because there’s a ton of great info!
Thank you for getting right to it! Been editing for years and learned so much. This is one of my fave FXPC tutorials.
You've literally changed my editing world for the better with that change duration capability. Best tutorial I've seen in a long time, not too short/not too long, to the point, and broken down into clear tangible steps. Literally running to download Final Cut Pro - thank you infinitely!
Funny to watch this video today , because yesterday I was editing a reel watching your previous videos about FCP , I'm learning how to use it and they were pretty useful , specially the way you teach how to manage Media/Libraries , I like to keep things tidy so it helps A LOT ! I hope you keep doing this type of content !
Loving the "vertical" feature in FCP. Thanks for sharing. You've just earned a subscriber
as a beginner i have to say i love tutorials that are soooo detailed... thank you for that...
hope to see more like this in the future😊🙏
I realized I already was doing most of all that for my vertical edits but still I learned! Thanks! I bet this is gonna be super useful for many people!
The ‘Change Duration’ function is a game changer! Thank you!
This was so helpful! Keep it up! Love this series
Thank you for this tutorial! I bought the software three days ago and today I made my first reel following your instructions. Thanks!
Well done! Thanks a lot for posting Tyler. Always learn a lot from your rapid-fire tutorials.
Where was this video yesterday when I needed it lol! Thanks for another great video!
That change duration tip is……lol I needed it, wonder if that’s in premiere too. Now I can make Timelapse’s lol
Love the videos! They are so helpful to learn how to edit. Thank you so much!
This was seriously so helpful! I've been editing all my reels on my phone and it's been giving me the WORST tech neck, LOL! I'm excited to download FCP and get to work!
Also! You did a podcast episode with a guy in Europe talking about Mac Pro when it first released in 2019, and he talked about the I, O, F trick to select favorite clips and that's been an amazing time saver that I've used ever since!
This was so helpful. Thank you so much, Tyler 😀
This was great!! I learnt an embarrassing amount (lots and lots) about final cut from this! I’ve definitely been doing things the hard way haha
I trust anyone with healthy plants in the background. It’s some good energy in that home. GREAT TUTORIAL!
absolute genius when it comes to final cut
I really liked this tutorial Tyler! Thank you for making it so practical as most of us have pics on our phones from trips anyways, so why not make reels! I'll give it a go :)
Just what i needed, as an intermediate video editor trying to conform to this quick content world or Reelz & Toks . Youre amazing!
@@rob9386 Something wrong 🤔 , Im no "pro" but im FAR from beginner so whats the problem?
Thanks for sharing, Tyler!
Cheers from Brazil!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! You have no idea what this info has done for me!!
Great video that duration tip and using the yellow on the sound to time the cuts is nice 😊
The BEST FCPX tutorial. I learned so much, Thank You!
This video helped me soo much! Thank you 😊
Love this. Thanks so much!
This was what I needed thank you Tyler!
Great job explaining all that. I have never used Final Cut Pro, this makes it very approachable.
The way you saved me SO MUCH TIME by the whole Command A and change duration Tip! I would love to watch another video with any tips you would have to make editing vertical videos much faster!! I find its so time consuming!
Excellent video ! Well done sir just what I needed

Exellent! Thank you!😊
thanks that was awesome!
This just convinced me to finally bite the bullet and get final cut. Thanks mate!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!
This is why I like Final Cut Pro, the magnetic timeline.
Also, the reason I prefer Vegas Pro than Premiere Pro, the easy ripple editing toggle button.
Artlist is amazing, thank you for sharing. I signed up.
It's really helpful way for quick editing about reels and shorts video. Thanks for sharing! It would be an excellent alternative way to edit on Mac. 🤩
You are right this is the best tutorials for sure :D

It’s amazing I’m new to mac and you show this so simple like the way Steve Jobs probably want 🍎❤️
This video is Excellent!
Great video. I use I-O-E to select a range and add it to the timeline. No clicking or dragging necessary.
Thanks.
Tyler, you made this stupid simple. Much appreciated.
Ahh thank-you so much! I've been looking for a video like this lol. I almost went out and wasted more money. I have the iPhone 13 pro I specifically brought the phone for video and portrait purpose but couldnt figure out why all my videos on Instagram was low quality. I'll forever edit all my iPhone videos in final cut pro.
Great video! Thanks 😊
You are the man!!! Tk you
Great video! I appreciate the random photo bomb of Wesley Snipes on "Blade". Well done!
Legend! thanks a heap :)
This tutorial was everything...absolutely saving this to watch over and over again while I perfect my process. One question though - what is your take on "trending" audio? Or do you prefer using Artlist audio only?
thanks for the great video ... helped me a lot ...
I used to think I was a final cut expert...
then I found this video 😅 thanks Tyler!
Great content!
Great stuff! You’ve got a new subscriber. I need to learn final cut better.
Really good stuff.. new subscriber!!
This is quite a masterpiece, I had to leave a double comment. Whoa 🤯
Amazing, thanks for sharing these tips…………….just off to have a go🙌🏻
very useful. thanks a lot!
Hi, Tyler! I am learning to edit on Final Cut Pro. Thanks for your video! It was really clear. One question: when I post on reels (Instagram) should I mute the audio of my video and choose the same music on Instagram, adjusting the time that it should start? Thanks! :) Regards from Lisbon, Portugal.
great video thank you
Gravity towards the left 🔥
Thanks for your help
Good idea 🥰
This comes at a time where I am starting to edit reels. Something I thought you'd touch on is downloading reels that use trending audio and editing to that.
Would love to see you do some workflow stuff for Capture One and Lightroom - I generally like your thought process on things.
Yes I should have touched on that, I just use screen recordings of other peoples reels
Picked up a Mac because of FCP and your vids have been helping a ton! Quick question what's that on the back of your Macbook? I picked up an OWC Envoy enclosure wondering if that's some alternate mount that would be less grabby in and out of bags.
Best tutorial!!
awesome tutorial
life saver!
Wow you made it so much easier than I thought, thank you so much! Actually, you are talking at the right speed for me to quickly understand! 😂😂
Thanks a lot for this great tutorial video!!! 👍🏻I'm total newbie to FCP I even got a Mac recently🤪🤯Yes it's fast so I'm going to watch it in slow motion10 more times)))
very nice tip, I haven't noticed that the new version came with Vertical now. also the issue to fill out the frame. sometimes dealing with the German version is not easy. ;-) Thanks for the Tip and additional Info...
Thanks!
top tier tutorial
INCREDIBLY HELPFUL OMFG you gate-kept NOTHING
Great video, this really made things simple for me today. Q: Do you record video in HDR or SDR on your phone?
Thank you so much! After editing the short in Final Cut Pro, do you make the subtitles in FCP as well or do you do that in another software?
Have a whole LinkedIn course and still find myself coming back to Tylers vids, hahahaha
To the point! Thanks
Thank you so much for the great content! What microphone are you using in this video? It sounds great! Thank you again!
Amazing Content
thanks a lot for so much information.
Love from India 🇮🇳
useful tips.
this video is a msterpiece.
if u put an overlay on top of your mag timeline ia it magnetic too. or just the main timeline
Anything above or below the main timeline will kinda stick to the clips they’re touching in the main timeline, and move with them.
@@stalman thats whats up. i have the problem in capcut where they dont move w the main timeline so if i make a swich or cut something i have to figure it out and it sucks replacing
Waohhh, everything I want in one video explained
Thanks 🙏
