Holy crap, his younger years reads like the most impressive fan fiction I’ve ever seen
Or pretty much a template for Forrest Gump.
This stories written by George Lucas. Not fan fiction. This Canon.
haha!
@@ThierryVerhoeven Our first thought!
Young Indiana Jones chronicles were great! Even had appearances from Harrison Ford himself.
I love how Young Indiana Jones is canon since Indy references Pancho Villa in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
It was a great reference!
That reference did not deem the show canon...
The show was made by George Lucas himself, and Harrison Ford even made an appearance in one of the episodes....... Do you know anything about this franchise kid?
I always thought the Young Indy series was like canon-adjacent fan fiction, but presented like this, it actually fits in pretty easily. Who knew?
Spoilers for Dial of Destiny, but there are some things that happen in that movie which contradicts young Indiana Jones
@@isaiasovelar4434how so? I rewatched the entire show before seeing dial of destiny and didn’t see anything that would contradict it.
@@isaiasovelar4434 care to specify? I saw the movie last weekend, so I'm curious what you might be talking about.
@@isaiasovelar4434?
It's officially canon
Crystal skull is actually rlly great. It has the new theme of dealing with aging.
Dial of destiny while sad, is heartfelt and surprising. Deals with moving on from the past and living in the present.
The hate for the franchise is so silly, the movies have always been the same in spirit, but each one brining something different and leaves a great message
TFW you realize Young Indiana Jones has more screentime than Harrison Ford.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Isn't that common sense being one was a series and one was just movies...
Your comment is confusing but the person laughing really really hard is even more confusing

@@JacobDean88🤣 I was thinking the same thing
@@jamesharney1794wtf is so goddamn funny dude 😭🤣
Glad you included Young Indy, many love to disregard it for various reasons.
its pretty crazy how the TV show does in fact play into some of the movies (peacock's eye)
I never had a chance to watch Young Indiana Jones, and this makes me truly regret that! Fabulous job Billy and Ken!
Ya know we give the fridge scene a lot of internet anger but him surviving after drinking from the grail to get eternal life it might make it make sense.
He fell out a plane with an inflatable. He’s always done crazy things and lucky with it.
I like these “Cram it” types of videos. HOWEVER, I need one for the “Mission Impossible” movies.
That franchise is a bit complex. I can’t remember every character tie-in.
Wow; Indy really got around. What a life!
It's cool that you even included the bit from 1950 with the Native American Chief, trying to protect his peace pipe from armed thieves before Indy flashbacks about a saxophone.
Thats one hell of a life!!
Although Young Indy really had its goofy tacky moments, im glad they kept it canon.
Great video! Well done.
Excellent recap, thanks. Disney+ is currently airing all of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Am sorry Dial of Destiny was not the blockbuster everyone wanted it to be. I was hoping interest would be generated to continue more adventures of Young Indy. George Lucas wrote 70 episodes, only half were produced before the series was cancelled. If finished it would have taken timeline up to the start of the movies.
This was well done, which ever of the crew contributed, it reminds me of when Danielle profiled the Hulk, with great attention to history and to details.
Billy back at it again 🔥🔥🔥🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
Jeez, he’s been through more than Forrest Gump
Don't care what the internet wants me to believe, I'm so excited for Indy 5!!
I'll admit to being interested. I wouldn't say "excited," but interested. Then again, I don't even hate _Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,_ I don't like it, but I don't hate it.
@@scaper8 Same. It's very much a one step forward two steps back kind of movie. It can be frustrating, but I don't flat out hate it.
Me too!
I've seen it, and the more I ponder it, I'm beginning to prefer it to all the other sequels and prequels -- though nothing beats the original RAIDERS. Some people hate it -- hell, some people hated it before they even saw it, or hate it despite vowing they'll never see it (!), but don't listen to those naysayers. It's a good movie.
yey the film iso good
Is it bad I’m hoping Indy loses an eye in the upcoming film? Y’know, for consistent continuity?
He doesn’t, because the writers didn’t care.
The Old Indy segments have been decanonized by Lucas. Only the Young Indy scenes are canon.
Did anyone else want a little grail diary when they showed the little book crammed with hand drawn pictures maps and so much more, I was obsessed with finding a book like it to fill with my own sketches etc but no ebay or amazon back then and I couldn't find anything close.
I had a couple moleskin journals that were great. What I really wanted was River Song's Tardis journal
The Red Baron is Baron Manfred von Richthofen, not the plane.
Wow, Thank you man. Im all prepared for my thursday's show
Is it just me or does Indy become less interesting when you realise he's met every famous person in the 20th century?
yeah...
More interesting.
I like the idea of Harrison Ford bumbling through history, inadvertently part of key moments in modern civilisation.
No not just you. It's classic franchise bloat.
That, and just... the people he meets...
Yeah... Like, c'mon how does ye participates in every important event of the XIX century
Great summary, thanks! Now I'm ready for Dial of Destiny 😄
Very well done
Mr. Business
👏👏👏👏👏
Indiana Jones has met EVERY famous and infamous person alive during his lifetime.
Indiana Jones 6: Indy meets Forrest Gump and together they go on a quest for an inventive writer of original screenplays. Between the two of them, they met almost every important person of the 20th century, so they really know how to find things.
The exorcist
I didn’t realize that the Temple of doom technically takes place before the lost ark
It literally says that at the beginning of each film.....
"It seemed to be the final adventure of Indiana Jones Sike!!" 😂😂
Brilliant, but you missed the novels which go through his university days.. and the games that tie in...ooooh there's more what about the comics? My brain hurts lol. I love this though. I think a rewatch of young indiana jones is in order 😊
WHAT? Why the F Indi met Vlad The Impaler?
So if Indiana Jones was real he would have died in 1999 at the age of 100
Yep
It's Porkins! Dude, I laughed for an hour after that. You're such a great smartass!
Indiana Jones has lived such an adventure its crazy
And now Indiana and Henry are now immortal thanks to the holy grail
REMY! Oh jez, I forgot the order of this, helps to see it all pulled back in order.
I love all the movies, classic
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Is there somewhere a total count of the historical persons Indi met?
Reminds me of Forrest gump
The old Indy of the nineties was omitted from the DVDs, perhaps it's not canon, but if nothing in Dial of Destiny conflicts. . . .
The show needs a blu ray, any boxset calling itself complete is false advertising when lacking the television series
Oldi Indy isn't canon anymore indeed.
Man, and I thought Forrest Gump interacted with all of 20th century history.
Billyyyyyyyyyyy❤
You forgot to mention Emperors Tomb
Where do you find shows where he’s young
Damn... Indie Gump! That boy stayed busy!!
To me, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the final chapter of Indiana Jones, despite some flaws. Dial of Destiny is just Indiana Jones' nightmare.
,😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indiana's actual middle name was "Walton" just like his father, Professor Jones Senior never went by Indiana. I saw the "Young Indiana Jones" show on Disney+.
Indiana Jones should have a nephew to continue the legacy
21:37 Future Frozen reference!!! 😂
After all....
" It's Not the Years honey, just the Mileage "
- Dr.Henry Walton JonesJr,
I love young Indy
So the first half (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) is basically Forest Gump before Forest Gump..
You missed the episode when he's in Dublin, Ireland during the 19th Rising
Thank you This is impressive!!!
The thing they forgot though (and without giving spoilers) How did he become a grandfather with what he tells us in This last movie?
The Old Indy segments were decanonized by Lucasfilm years ago, even before Indy 4. So they don't count anymore.
Okay, but how are we not all talking about the fake Russian ballet in Spain shiny codpiece Morse code scene?
Nothing about the quality & nature of the TV stuff ever made me feel it was remotely connected to the movie material. Just leveraging a marketable brand name. Why do I feel that was more Lucas than Steven.
Indiana Jones and the Monkey King
In 1985, Columbus wrote a script for a third Indiana Jones film entitled Indiana Jones and the Monkey King. Columbus' script included Indy taking a trip with his assistant Betsy to a secret city protected by soldier gorillas and governed by the evil Monkey King. According to Columbus, the script was written so that the story didn't appear too similar to the previous film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. However, at the end, Columbus' script was rejected and the film was finally released in 1989 under the title Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and directed by Steven Spielberg. In 2017, Columbus' script was adapted into a five-part live reading/audio drama on the Alcohollywood podcast.
Corey loved playing young Indiana Jones for George Lucas 4 years George Lucas what a great guy!
@ 12:50 - Prime minister WHO??
What about that time when he discovers bigfoot who leads him to and odd disc with protruding mandable structures with a corpse of man with white shirt, black jacket and starnge kinship
the thing with the train and the Indian guy and the sax is from which movie?
The Young Indiana Jones episode "Mystery of the Blues"
Not a movie. An episode of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
You missed the computer games out
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis HAS to be canon.
26:00 What's the film?
Yay, Moab, Utah! I live in Utah!
Not bad, but you totally skipped over all the Young Indiana Jones books that bridge his life between 12 and 16!
Was only me, but the guy who played Belac , is in Young Indy during WW1 6:16 tan uniform with red band
Close up to face 6:22
This was pretty fun, is Young Indiana Jones worth the watch? Only saw a couple episodes, but after seeing this I might give it another try
I watched them when they first aired back in the 90s. It's really hit or miss. Some episodes are good, some are really boring. The ones with baby Indy you can probably skip all together.
Trenches of hell and masks of evil are must watch episodes. The second half of masks of evil is way more dark and scary than temple of doom.
@@nickoftimeproductions8719 sounds good, I started it a long time ago. I was kinda busy though and it was kinda hard to find. it's on Disney+ now right?
I'd recommend it. Just skip episodes 3 and 9, You won't regret it.
My uncle showed me his VHS of Radiers in the late 90s and he told me Indy eventually died in 1993 and was born in 1900. That meant he died at 93, which was a long time and I never fact-checked him. This was an interesting video, and my uncle said he was right bc Indy was not seen past 1994. Idk why i believe him, I just do 🤷♂
9:59 😂😂 it does
Why has Indy literally lived through every historical event and met every historical person to ever live after 1908
Binge them. Binge them all.
The brawl scene between the high school jocks and the bikers was pretty hilarious not just in the fourth film, but also because in a lot of stories where the main female character has two male love interests, one is often a high school jock and the other is often a delinquent who rides a motorcycle and is part of a biker gang. Though I wasn't a fan of the choice of background music that they played during the scene.
They rlly played into the times, aliens, greasers, commies, Indy has lived so much
Did i blink and miss the episode set in the 1916 easter rising in ireland. Is that the only one you ignored.
Some serious Gumping
Timelines mean NOTHING to Short Round, since he works at the TVA.
am I the only one who recognized Belloq?
but he was in st Petersburg too, Russian revolution right?
Yeah, there are so many fascinating/horrifying implications of young Indiana Jones if you think about them for even a little bit.
@@artistwithouttalent What are the horrifying implications?
@@troybonner91 Young Indiana Jones the TV series is basically Forrest Gump but all the historical figures were important because they created or maintained British colonialism. The "Selous" guy they keep mentioning was one of the founders of Rhodesia, and if that name means nothing to you outside of the dog, I would recommend this video: [CZcams]/7dtJGRIWEls
i kept hearing `Indian Salah'.
Ooohhhhhh....
😮
If there were any more names dropped than herein methinks me head would have EXPLODED!

They should have gotten a guy who looked more like Peter
O'Toole to play T. E. Lawrence.
Indy runs into Forrest Gump somehow lol
Oy. So much of his younger years were spent cavorting about with some really not-great people, and I just have to keep telling myself, "It's like this because it's a historical drama and an adventure story pastiche."
А где😢
Folks get rid of the TV look at the adventures indy had in a world without TV

Old One Eyed Indiana Jones is from which movie?
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. However the series was re-edited and retitled when put on DVD and thus those scenes were taken out.
How could they botch the match transition?
i see this damn ad when ever i use fandom! its Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying
but ... where is Sophia Hapgood? I am missing Sophia... anyone else?
12 minutes before any of the movies....
That's kinda the point...
Yes. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles had two seasons of backstory.
Yeah Ill take crystal skull over the 5th garbage. The movie has issues but atleast it ends on a high note with him getting married to the woman he loves and really felt like the ending of a series. It felt more like a finale that the recent abomination did. Kathleen Kennedy is a franchise killer.
Nice presentation.
Your pronunciation (of non-English names, etc) is terrible…like really bad.
WTF is all this BS outside of the movies?!?!
Who made these shows and who watched them?
11 mins = the actual start....before that is a bunch of kack zzzzzz about some weird older films that no one knows or wants to see or in hindsight wishes they hadn't lol
Everyone: This belongs in a museum!
You: So do you!
The first 11 minutes is about newer (than the first three films) television series, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which many Indy fans enjoyed quite a bit.
@Primogen16 true true still interesting in a historical sense and an glad ibwatched your vid about it than actually watching them 😄 🤜🤛👍👍🙏🙏👏👏👏
