If you need to buy a Harley or dress a certain way to see yourself as a man then you're just not a man yet
Christian Zavala absolute facts my friend. Don’t worry about other people and their opinions. I stopped to see the bike. The title is just silly to me. I just bought a grom most fun I’ve had in a long time.
Its all about that BDE bring it every day no matter what you ride and it will show.
Says the little bitty man. 😂😂
@@noidontthinksolol 😂😂😂😂
The dressing part, sure, but I assumed he was talking about “fitting” a man, as in the bike would be too small and uncomfortable, not anything about ego or anything.
Indian is better than harley
polaris*
Gatorade is better
I'm a small man so for me every bike is big enough. Some are too big.
I never thought id see a YT comment that speaks to me so well lmao
I actually bought a scout bobber because it was the perfect fit. It's a fun ride.
Ha Ha Me too brother. I have to worry if I can reach the ground not if its too big :)
Ditto my fellow hobbit, 5'7 and 150 I have trouble taking advice on bikes from most bikers I've met seeing as they usually have 6 plus inches on me and 60 plus pounds. As much as it pains me to say it I glance at reviews for bikes for women now and then when I start thinking about getting another bike.
Im 5’6 is this still too big?
I’ve got the Indian scout 60, could afford the actual scout but decided against it due to the cosmetic look of it, the scout looked better, blacked out top covers, frame,
I test rode both and there just wasn’t enough of a difference to warrant the extra money,
I put the extra cash into mini apes, a Vance and Hines exhaust and some white walls, looks and sounds great and will easily keep up with the bigger engined bikes. Gets comments wherever I go and it rides really well for the kind of bike that it is, really well balanced
Keep up the good work fellas
Sorry, I meant the scout 60 looked better in my opinion
@@empiredrummer 2 years later...still liking it? I've just finished the MSF course and got my endorsements. Is it a good bike for a newbie like myself?
@@ItothaGO Absolutely, I still believe the scout60 is an awesome bike, unfortunately some lowlife knocked mine over whilst it was parked up, didn’t do a lot of damage considering how hard they hit it, but for me it just wasn’t the same anymore, I now have the ‘anniversary’ scout, I do miss my 60 though, they’re brilliant bikes, the thing that shocked me when I got my scout 60 was the power, I’d gone from Yamaha, and Honda V twins and the scout 60 was just a very different animal, could easily catch you out with its speed and power so just be very careful, and remember, the bike will only go as fast as you want it to, you’re in complete control, so stay in complete control 👍🏼
@@empiredrummer Yessir!
@@ItothaGO Iv had my scout 60 a year and 3 months and I’m still loving it. Did the class last year and I think I got the bike a week or so before that so I was a newbie as well.
that mini heart attack you get when you realize you just passed a cop going 20 over. 5:55
That mirror check LOL
Only 20?
Haha nice catch
@@CCFONESOL no it was like 10 to 15. he went about 48 in a 35.
I have that exact bike in the video. I have done that more times than I can count. The amazing thing is I still have a perfect driving record.
I bought a Scout Sixty about three months ago as my first motorcycle at age 48. I feel like it has a good amount of power. I already added slip-on exhaust and plan to get the Indian performance air intake and tune in the near future, just to pick up a few extra horses. I feel plenty manly on my bike ;)
I’m 46 and I’m getting my first bike this summer. Thank you for the comment
@@toonfuhtrakoon8239 I'm 46 and just got one also! Is this mid-life crisis?
We just want to have fun and more fun.
I'm 48 and here looking to see if the Scout Sixty is a good first bike!
I dont think people realize how fast 0-60 in 4 seconds is... i get people might want more speed. But as a general car guy... thats extremely quick
This is my dream job brother, offering quality bikes to the working class...and you get to ride so many different bikes...you are blessed sir, cherish it
Jesse James I always think that too.
Jesse James I’ve only rode 3 harleys and 3 sport bikes in my lifetime plus a Honda . I wondered how it feels to ride other bikes
I had never ridden a bike in my life (37 years old) and bought a 2018. It's a great bike, I'll go bigger down the road but it is an A+ entry level bike for a novice rider.
The scout and scout 60 are great bikes! My favorite Indian is the Scout bobber. Left a demo day contemplating the pricetag....
I test rode a Scout 60 a few years ago. I'm 6' ~235lbs and was impressed at how the baby Scout fit me and it had plenty of gitty-up & go.
I've just been reading the reviews on these Indian scout bikes to see if a taller rider liked the fit on these bikes lol. I'm 6'4" and I have been eyeballing these bikes alot lately but wasnt sure about the size. So not bad? I mean they do make extended foot controls too so that is a possibility.
@@bigsterms My nephew just bought one, and they swapped out the extended reach controls and bars for him at no cost. He is 6'4" also, and loves the bike.
@@scootterpootter I need that
You do a great Job Shawn. Really enjoy how you handle yourself on these videos.
my next bike is going to be the Scout Bobber, that thing looks gorgeous.
Rode one of those at Demo Days a couple weeks back...that thing is a blast to ride!
Scout Bobber is my dream bike.
Anhnole Only problem with the scout bobber is my butt would fly off the seat under hard acceleration.
I just got a 2019 and love it so far
@George B but is 43% more torque than harley with same cc due water cooling
Some may bash you for your thoughts on the scout vs. scout sixty but I, for one, really appreciate your honesty. Info like this is super helpful in making buying decisions.
He’s trying to sell the bike
It's all about personal preference dude!...I do agree, that if you are watching your wallet, logically, this is the Scout you want. Scouts are in a class of their own, and honestly l like them all...And don't get me started on the 2020 models! Indian is bringing the heat!! We can definitely be excited about American bikes again!!
Did that sucker peel rubber at the start of the 0-60 run??? sure sounded like it did lol
I’m 6’3 I love the smaller cruiser motorcycles. They just look more fun to ride. And the Scout Sixty is definitely no exception.
I like the design of that bike. Everything fits together so well
I test road the scout sixty abs 2019 last week it’s a really fun bike with great handling in 6 feet tall and my only complaint was my legs kept bowing out from the stock foot pegs making it annoying but that’s fixable over all I totally agree with Shawn
I got my Scout Sixty two years ago and still love it. Got the White/Titanium color so it really stands out from the black harleys and with V&H slip ons it sounds great also.
I was checking out the Scout Bobber for months and then I fell in love with the Victory OCTANE. Ground work from Project 156 went into designing the Octane and the first time I rode it I was sold. Super fast and loud. Great bike!
MikeBeth Edwards the octane blows the Scout out of the water, we just have a longevity issue now
I'm tired of seeing these is it big enough for a man videos lol. I'll ride a vespa all day every day and still be a man lol jk. Love the vids guy's keep up the good content.
Seriously, is it manly to care what other people think, now?
I think scooters are pretty cool. If it was practical I'd go get me a Ruckus to mod. Just looks like a ton of fun.
Me too, Scott. What does a bigger bike have to do with being a real man? But yes, Sean's a good guy.
If you ride a hardly davidson because you think it's manly, then you aren't really a man yet...Real men don't really give a shit about what others reckon. (".)
If your under 200 lb and under five nine you can buy any child's motorcycle. Don't waste your time watching videos big enough for a man to ride. I rode a Honda Shadow American classic edition for 15 years that was too small for me, that's why I'm looking for a man size bike.
My great uncle used to restore the classic Indians... Before the internet and used message boards... 10k up front and 10k when it was done ... Pappy had two 1949 Indian chiefs
Yes, that's why I bought one!! Scout 60 and a Victory Vision in the garage.
Awesome! Thanks for the review! I’m planning to get one this summer and this video reassured me of getting the scout sixty !
Great review! Love your channel , keep on ridin'! I wish I could afford another bike but am to old , decrepit and broke now to be on "2 wheels" ! Enjoy the Scout Shawn!
I want to say God bless you with the motorcycles be safe God bless you guys really☺☺
I bought the Scout over the Scout 60 for the paint and brown leather. The mint and cream is just beautiful.
They discontinued the green and cream. 😭
Just ordered my scout 60! This video was one of the main deciders. They are delivering it in the morning! I’m stoked!!!
Hows the Scout 60 doing?
@@rodneyjordan6745 sold it to my buddy and he loves it. It’s a neat machine. Good bang for buck. I replaced it with a FLD switchback.
The Scout 69 has the extra gear between 4th and 5th of the Scout 60. So, the gear ratio of the highest gear on each bike is the same. From everything I've read and heard, it's tough to tell the difference in performance between the two bikes. I have a Scout 69 but haven't ridden a 60. My wife and I rode our Scout 2-up for 15,000 miles. I know it sounds crazy but we did and we kept up with the big boys. Now we have a Springfield and she gets the ride the Scout by herself. Thanks for the video!
He hit the nail square on !!! I have always rode Harley, but just bought a 2020 Scout 60, & DAMN !! It feels really close speed, handling, & fitment to a DYNA !!!!
Beautiful 60-degree v twin, liquid cooled, good power, beautiful, well-made bike. Nice job, Indian! Wish you made them with standard controls, though (30+ inch seat height with the footpegs under you). Good review, Sean.
This was a great video! Very informative... it's the one I want! Thanks!
Loving my scout sixty, upgrades now were a passenger pillion, Aeormach engine protector, denali soundbomb mini, Kuryakin bar end mirrors and grips, lickscycle tapered slip on exhaust and added a Perf air intake telling me it will add up to 81hp, but anyways it's a good filter with a plus.
3:26 AMEN! 🔥 Triumph Bobber Black vs. Scout Bobber Vid. Next! 👊
That was a pretty impressive review . I haven’t owned a bike for 18 years . I’ve been thinking about getting into again . This looks like it may be my way back on the road .
I rode the Sixty, but recently bought the Scout. Both are light, quick and very easy to handle. The Sixty is quite sufficient; but I had the money, so I went for a little extra power.
And, they’re great looking!
I traded in a 2014 HD. One thing I wanted was ground clearance. My HD would scrape against the speed bumps in my neighborhood; the Indian doesn’t. The Indians all have about an inch-plus more clearance than Harleys.
Best choice in a clean looking bike! I got the 2018 bronze colored one..... I upgraded the pipes to slip ons (Van's and Hines) it's been mistaking for a Harley many times! Definitely a head Turner! 😉
"keep it down... I know someone is doing it... we don't want to hear about it.."
lol
Haha I was going to comment and say I do 😆
I've been riding the Scout 60 for 5 years. Love it! I'm 5'10", 175 and it fits me perfect. Best bike I have ever owned...
Great review of the bike. Also, respect for the verse before riding. Subscribed.
most obvious difference visually between the scout and the 60 is the 60 doesn't have a scout badge whereas the regular scout does....you're absolutely right...it's not what you ride it's where you're riding..
I bought the 2019 Scout 60 and put Reinhardt pipes on it with the Indian hp intake. I'm 6'2" 225lbs. No problem with speed or torque. Mines thunder black but all the colors offered are noticeable. You get a bang for your buck with an Indian. The warranty was a big plus aswell. Do yourself a favor and test ride one before you buy your next bike. The 6th gear on the scout is the same ratio as 5th gear on the Scout 60. Cruising at 80mph isn't a problem all day long unless the wind is high. This bike works for both highway and around town cruises.
Nice review man, really liked, and this bike sounds fun as heck.
I plan on getting the Scout this summer. Cant wait!
Did you?
@@jahimuddin2306 Probably not
Man its crazy.. I havent lived in Pa for a while but I still know these roads ❤. I was watching and thinking “why does this drive seem so familiar?” Great commentary. I own a 69cc rogue but I agree.. for the size and suspension, the 60cc is the right engine. Im always pushing beyond the chassis ability
glad I saw this video because I just bought a 2022 scout sixty.. thanks and Happy Holidays!
I've got a 1982 Honda goldwing gl1100 that's a cafe racer, I love it because compared to my old Kawasaki Vulcan 800, it rides so much better and struggles alot less on the highway and I love it because it just has so much power no matter where you accelerate at
Thanks for this - I'm looking at the Scout, Scout 60, Chief, and Rebel 1100.
The Chief is really more than I want to spend (even the base Chief). So I started looking at the Scout, then the Rebel - then I realized what the Scout 60 was - and I think it's what I'm going to go for. (about 70% sure at the moment - more research to do)
Entry level is an 1000 cc engine! Does anyone remember 250 cc bikes?
Most cruisers come in this range like 700 to 1000cc coz these bike need power as they r heavy , the 250cc are gr8 for sports or lighter bikes
It’s a beautiful bike. I love Indian motorcycles and HD Sportsters, you definitely have the freedom to like both, it doesn’t have to be either or. Peace out and keep riding✌🏼
Sean,, Grrrreat job I have the same bike which I get so many compliments about the bike and Indian does not promote the bike like they should. thanks for shining a light on a great bike
I'm getting the 2020 scout just waiting on winter to blow over I haven't even got a chance to ride my 2019 kx100 much due to the season but it is gona be a fun transition from my 2012 z1000
Love the words of wisdom mixed in there. Great video!
From what I understand, Indian had to seriously detune the Scout 60 to make a noticeable difference from the regular Scout. Apparently both motors make roughly the same horsepower and torque. Add a fuel tuner and you gain back the HP/Torque and then some. Every time the demo truck comes to town I ride the Scout. They are just plain fun!!!
Could not agree More Sean I see a reoccurring theme here... Multiple bikes for various hikes.. That nice streetglide I came down on would pair nicely with something smaller and lighter to bang around town on... Ehh but maybe I'll pay it off first! Lol. You can never go wrong if you buy something from each style that you have interest in.. One day Ducati, next day Scout, and a GOLDWING for the weekends! Just get out there and CRUSH those miles! 😎👍👍
Started watching your videos and thanks for the uplifting scriptures!
I had a sport bike and wanting to transition to a cruiser with passenger capability. What would be a good intermediate cruiser with passenger capability and bang for the buck?
I'm in love with my 2018 Scout Bobber.
Fantastic review. Glad you mentioned your size & fit of bike.
The Scout Sixty can have a black or tan seat. I have a 2017 Scout Sixty with the OEM Tan seat and bags. The only for sure way to tell them apart is the Heads. The Sixty will ALWAYS have stock black heads. Oh, and all you need is a Power commander. $300 and you put down just as much, if not more power than a typical scout.
I was wondering if that would be the case. Great info
Like a white bike if you live down here in Florida when we get Love Bug season twice a year
Like the video. Also wanted to ask you if the sway was due to wind due to your helmet cam or due you to the thick front tires on the Scout sixty. Could it be the road surface? It just seemed like a bit of sway and play.
Your thoughts?
(Not been on anything in that style so just wondering.)
5:59 = Bad boys Bad boys, watcha gonna do watcha gonna do when they come for you
I'm going to ride it!!!! like I stole it That's what I'm going to do
I've been trying to decide between a scout and a scout sixty and trying to justify the extra cash for the scout which I don't really have. You answered the question for me and I thank you. A Scout sixty it is.
I didn't know you where PA based til I felt oddly nostalgic watching this vid, then there it was a highway sign to Harrisburg!
Great vid thanks for the info!
At first I was like wow where he's riding looks familiar. Then when you started heading towards Spooky Nook i was like damn that's where I grew up. I never see CZcams videos near me lol.
Nice demo, nice bike...love your route, nice scenery
The bore makes little difference in power in this engine. The 60 has a different map that closes the throttle valves at around 5500 rpms if I remember correctly. Otherwise, the 60 is the same bike with minor cosmetic differences and one less gear. If the 20 hp really matters that much then flash the 60 with a pvcx and you basically have the same power.
...so no. You don't need a stage 2 kit to get the same power...just a $300 investment. This was proven like 3 years ago....not sure why people are still confused by this.
Lol I just posted this. Unfortunately the 2018+ ones they got wise to this and changed the throttle body to a 54mm instead of the 60mm.
First I agree that they are very similar bikes, both are great. However, there are more differences than just the extra gear and power. The scout also has an upgraded front shock and much better tires. They made the changes back in 2018.
My guy, first time looking into bikes and came across your page. Immediate sub off the bat for reading scripture. Love it brother
Dressed out a79 CX500 rode every where cruised at 70,80 mph all the time. Point is 1000cc,1200cc Plenty power for cruising ,been thinking about scout 60.
Thank god, someone taller than a 5th grader. I was worried I would be too tall for this bike at 6 feet tall and being all legs as a dude. So many guys doing reviews on the scout are like 5'7 or 5'6... You don't look too long for the bike at all. Fantastic.
Great video. I am going to look at, and possibly test ride, a bike just like this one tomorrow.
I watched this video went and checked out so.e harleys then went to our local Polaris dealer and got the indian scout sixty my first bike. the video gave me all the info I was looking for Thanks love the videos guys
Sean, I like when you start to get "On it" at the 6 minute mark and that SUV comes at you so you "get off it." Yep, POLICE right on the side.... Almost got caught, didn't you Batman.... ha, ha..
The regular Scout has more chrome and fancier paint and seat and stuff also but I like the plain look of the sixty better myself
love your channel. Keep up the good work. God Bless
The five speed has the same top gear as the 1100 scout. They took out 5th and all the other gears are the same
Yeah It's all about final drive ratio.
Honestly I have the regular scout. You barely need gears 4-5. 1,2,3,6 are the gears I use. I almost never use 4/5 as its blast around gears in 1-3, then pop up to 6 for highway cruising.
W W the Scout 6th gear is 4.087:1. The scout sixty 5th gear is 4.087:1. They are the same.
W W I guess the info I had was wrong. Good to know. Thank you
@@WW-to4ni Correct. The Scout has longer legs. That was important to me because of where I live. My daughter loves it, but I'm steering her toward a 60 because she's not a long-haul rider. The 60 isn't a "girl's bike." Just less expensive and lacking 1 extra gear. It's a fine choice for suburban riders, and it'll still do highway just fine for weekends. And they're all vastly customizable so what it looks like is probably irrelevant.
Another great video.
I would like to see the SRK Rider Scale for other bikes you have done videos for (but didn’t add this rating) such as the 883 Sportster and so on. Maybe a page on your website with this? Would be cool to compare something like this Indian to an 883 then to something like a Dyna Wide Glide etc.
rebelcat420 it sounds like it has a lot more power than an 883
The 2016-2017 Scout 60s are strangled artificially by the tune Polaris installed. You can throw a PCVX fuelmoto tune on and make up a lot of the power difference from the "bigger" bike. Even more if you throw on an intake and slip ons.
They use a PV3 now. Doing my tune tomorrow
@@CDLNEPA I'll be getting mine tomorrow! Can't wait supposed to be a big bump with slip on and intake.
Hey Sean, Im debating wether to get this or a phantom. I’ve always loved the phantom but afraid I might get bored of the power. Do you think the power would be an issue on the phantom? Would you rate this bike funner than a phantom? Im not a speed freak but it’s nice to know you got the power when you need it. This would be my first street bike but grew up riding dirt bikes.
I got my 2016 Scout 69 cu. in. last year (2 years old) for only $7500 from a private party. (The guy wasn't asking four times book price for his used bike.)
I almost bought a victory octane three years ago . But waited to long and now i ride a iron 883. But i love the the look of the Indian scout very clean looking.
I looked at the Indian scout bobber and It was a great looking bike. But I'm loving my Yamaha XSR
Sean, I sincerely think I’d like to buy a used bike from you if I see one I like from your website. God bless you man. You’re awesome. 😊👍🏻✝️
Indian did such a good job designing the scout, better than anything HD has come up with as far as the sportsters go.
Indian's "beginner bike" will leave a Sportster 1200 in the dust, actually it will leave pretty much every stock Harley in the dust now that the V-Rod was put out to pasture.
HahahHa Hahahaha!!!!
Dude... Thumbs up just for the prayer at the start of the ride!!
Great review. How tall are you? I'm 6 feet and started with a Sportster 48 and it seemed just too small. Not in power, but in size. I felt like I was squatting on the bike instead of the brawler look I'd seen in the ads. I eventually traded to a Softail and love it, but would love to have something a little smaller and more nimble for around town.
Yup I'm just waiting for mine to arrive!
Always wanted an Indian Scout, never owned a bike other than a dirt bike, at 35 it's time. Great video BTW, if it fits you well at 6"2, I will be fine a 6 foot even.
The bike looked small until you sit on it. That is what happens with my Kawasaki vn 1600....until I sit on it lol. Thank you for the video. I enjoy your channel
Good looking bike. Looks even better in slate gray and/or black
Where would you place the Indian Scout Bobber on the riding scale?
In the 30’s -60’s white Harley’s were almost always police bikes ,70’s 80’s and 90’s Black Harley’s were almost custom order (except for my fxb sturgis of course ),being most were metallic , the “new” thing. Within the last 6-8 years it’s been like the black and dark age as far as factory paint , they’ve GOT to be saving money somewhere.
I have a RE classic 350 right now and it’s standard seating position. For my next bike I’m split between the XSR700 and the scout sixty. I really only ride to work and back home with the occasional trip on the weekend. I’d keep my 350 but it really can’t hand the hills of western PA at highway speeds.
Hello ! have been looking at the 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Sixty ABS as my first bike and wondering if this really the a great starter bike? I have no riding experience . I looked at the Honda Rebel 500 ABS but thats out of stock and backed up for months . From the options i have now , I am confused between the 2020 Harley IRON 883 ABS and the 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Sixty ABS . I would really appreciate some advice . Thank you
Bought my scout sixty bobber after watching this. Zero Regrets, amazing bike.
Hi, thanks for the video. What kind of cruiser do you recommend from Indian offer to a 6,2 tall guy as a beginner? There is a good bike from Scout range or its acceptable Chief dark horse too or not. Im curious to have your recommendation from Harley or other produsers cruiser offers too. Thanks in advance for your response.
I love the looks of the motor they really thought about that design
I really like Sportster type bikes but I'm 6'2 so this video really helpful
Compared to the Vulcan 900, would you choose the Scout Sixty over it?
Which would you recommend for a first time rider who loves the bobber style? The scout or the scout 60?
