Yesss once you can comfortably play the left hand in the beginning the rest is just simple, similar runs. First 30 seconds took me the longest by far!

What’s the easiest way to get the Rythm going for the left hand? And tricks up your sleeve ? I’m having a hard time picking up the left hand…absolutely beautiful piece of work. I’m inspired majorly
I have 3 questions. 🙋
1. What is your process of learning a song?
2. How do I use these kinds of tutorials?
3. Any tips on building a piano repertoire?
I'm also just a pretty casual player, but i can share my kind of learning: first I listen to the song a few times to memorize the melody (usually u already know most of it because u heard it before several times). After that i cut the song in short patterns that I learn by repeating them until i become comfy with them and start to co,mbine the patterns step by step into bigger patterns until the song is complete. And for building a repertoire chose songs that are challenging (not too easy or too hard) and dont try learn too many different songs at the sam time. Good luck :)
1. The longest part is "translating" the song on the piano. Then it's just... imagination!
2. You can slow down this video and watch it in slow motion to learn the hardest passages. Synthesia bars can be helpful too.
3. Maybe you should build your own repertoire according to the songs you like most ;)
@@moritz4085 I agree. I'm learning. I usually focus on one song, but to occasionally learn/practice other songs just to give myself a break from the one song. I try to mix up easy ones and more difficult ones.
Ik it’s years later and you may be better than me now but a HUGE thing that always helped me was say like 2 minutes into the song There is a crazy run or something you know you cannot play currently, as you’re learning the song you can work on that small 10-15 second or so bit over the weeks/days/months it takes you to learn the part leading up to it. Nothin worse than being mostly done with a song and then hitting a road-block like that without any prep! Hope piano has gone well for you! Self taught is not easy but I’m going on 6 years now and loving it!

Yes definitely not the original Wizard of Oz version. I was hoping it was. But this is a beautiful rendition from the version of the late Israel K.
