    I've always wonder why bearings shrink when welded. common sense will tell you that metal expands when heated.

    Stick welding? Rod size/type and amps used?

      I think I was actually using a Miller 325 wire feed that time but either will work. The idea is that gives you quick focused heat on the race of the bearing. Sorry I don't remember amps.
