i had an 03 sierra it was two clips no tools needed at al. forward i purchased a 2012 sierra a montha go a headlight finally went i had to take apart the entire front end of the vehicle to get it done ridiclous.

Dude, I am 64 years old. That is probably the best produced CZcams video I have ever seen! Clear, concise, and you used a tripod (with the perfect field of view) for rock solid steady image. Perfect lighting, narration spot on, wow!! You should consider making ilustration videos for a service, if not a living. Thank you👍🙂
Thanks. I always strive to make the video quality the best I can. I hate blurs and shakes. These videos on my channel started as just helping others DIY and save money, then I started making money. It’s now my part time side hustle (legally taxed of course) I work full time as well. Hopefully my channel becomes full time soon. I love doing this. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe. I will be having more equinox related videos soon.
WOW that is WAY easier than other videos that have you take the entire front end off. We were able to change both headlight bulbs in 20 minutes. We did not need to take off the wheels, we had a person holding the plastic fender well liner back while the other person swapped out the bulps. Easy peezy..
Yes it’s very easy to replace. Some people make things so complicated. I only had the wheel off to get my camera and tripod in there but if I wasn’t filming it would definitely be done with the wheel still on. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I think you're the same person that helped me get the headlight exchanged on my 2020 equinox it was the same thing everybody wanted to take the entire front end off found your video it took me a minute just because the angles would kind of crazy and I have a big hand but it worked I did it myself only paid the cost of the actual headlight now I have a 2016 equinox the light is going out I'm going to do the same thing on it go through the wheel well on this one this time looks a little easier
Definitely the best& simplest video out there for this task. BUT you dont really have to remove the tire or entire wheel well liner. Just the 2 screws & 3 plastic clips. I was able to bend the liner a little & simply reach up to do the rest. Literally a 5 min job. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Yes the only reason I removed the wheel is so that I. can get the camera and tripod in there. You are correct, it is manageable by simply turning the wheel peeling a bit and reaching up. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
THANK YOU❤️❤️ I was able to follow this tutorial with ease!! You saved me so much money, everyone was giving me quotes up the wazooo! You really helped a girl out, can’t thank you enough
I’m glad you found my video. Saving money is the best part of diy next to the feeling of satisfaction that you fixed something that requires a professional. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe. Ps How much are they quoting these days for this repair?
Thank you so much! I saw another video that removed the whole bumper so I looked around. It was daunting but pretty easy I didn’t want to go spend $100 bucks. I didn’t have that red tool but I did have a 4oz hammer that worked to remove those little cap things
Yes the claw side of a hammer would work as well. I’m glad you found the video. There are a lot of videos out there that remove more from the vehicle than needed. I like to keep it simple. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Yes that’s a very good tip. I did mention that in my led install video but forgot to include this one. Thanks for mentioning. Please like and subscribe

Wow. My headlight just burned out on my equinox. This really makes me miss my Honda Accord, on which i could change the bulb in about 40 seconds. Jeez. Why would they put the access in the wheel well? And why would they not just put an easy access panel in the wheel well if that is the way they design bulb replacement??? I really miss my Honda lol.
It is indeed a lot tougher. Some equinoxes have a trap door in the wheel well but some don’t. Not sure how they decided which ones get the access. I also miss my Pontiac vibe with easy access above the hood for bulbs. Glad you found the video helpful though. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Funny my 2010 equinox has a access panel and you just take one 1 screw and you are at that cap. Weird why these are different from each other. I do see you do not have the same access panel that I do.
Ya I’m not sure how they decided which ones get the access flap and which don’t. I imagine it’s because of money. It’s cheaper to press one solid piece of plastic compared to having to add that piece on an assembly line. They probably saved millions. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Marlinda Kleinert yes some have the access panel on older models. Newer ones the stopped that for reasons unknown. I wish I had one. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Ok. Is there just one bulb for both high and dim? I have a 2017, and it looks like there's 2 headlights, one dim one high beam. But all the videos show one bulb per side replacement.
Yes there is another bulb if you have projector lights. I have been meaning to make an updated video with both bulbs. If you look beside the low beam bulb there should be a 9005 bulb to remove. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I know right. They make it harder but we still get stronger as diy mechanics. Gotta keep learning to stay up to speed. I do miss the days of popping the hood and swapping both lights in five minutes. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
No there is no way. The frame goes right across the back of the light. Under the wheel well is unfortunately the only way. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 I did, thank you for the reply, I ended up going underneath, and luckily I didn’t have a tripod so no need to take the tire off lol you did that for us and thank you man!!

We gotta remember engineers only have to make the car go together and run properly. They never have to replace stuff later. They should make the engineers work as mechanics for a year. You would see drastic improvements in vehicle designs. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Chevy can burn in hell for making headlights this difficult. But yeah, you only need to take off the wheel if you need to see everything or to film it. For my 2015, it was two T20 screws and three push rivets to gain enough access to do it by feel.
Yes that’s right. Also depends on the size of the person. A husky size person may want the wheel off to help gain space. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Thanks for the tutorial. You gotta wonder what the designers were thinking when they made it this difficult to replace a headlight bulb.

Thanks! I only took out the front 2 T20s and the plastic rivet between them. Was just enough to get my hand in and did it 80% by feel - worked great!!

Back again for round two! It is so much easier taking the tires off as you suggested, especially for and older guy like me. 😂 Thanks again Bill!

@@BillOfAllTrades2016 Mine is the LTZ all wheel drive model, so maybe because its the higher end one they included the access panel..?
Ya that could be a reason.
On my 2013 I have an access cover in the wheel well and this equinox doesn’t have the access cover that I have.

@@BillOfAllTrades2016 what year is this equinox?
It is a 2017
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 can you put the year in the title , it will make it easier for people to know which car they have , thank you!

Sooo. High beams they have to come off it looks like.
Why is that? You only need to take the high beams off if they need replacement. When replacing the low beams you don’t need to touch them.
What da fuq was going through the engineer's head when they made it so hard to change a lightbulb?
