That's interesting. I work for the MARC train. It's a transit rail system that shares the tracks with shipping trains. Anywho, at the station i was at yesterday, there was a guy taking photos on the track (not near like yours), and within a span of 20 minutes, he was getting cuffs. From my vantage point, it looked like he was asked to get off the tracks, and it seemed as if he was privileged to shoot whenever. That's a shame because his equipment won't be put in the cruiser the way a photographer would recommend. Great photos, though, and fantastic video. I appreciate any video that's just a series of photos and less talk.

That would be the same in the UK. It’s illegal to go into the tracks without proper authority anywhere on the UK rail system. I took these by poking my arms through a 8 feet high steel fence with the camera on the inside and me out.
Thanks for the kind words. I thought I’d just do something different with the photos as they really were spur of the moment shot with the whole thing lasting less than a minute.

Every time it’s been up here or the Merchant Navy “British India Line” I’ve missed them or forgotten they were coming so it really was nice to see this southerner up north.
No idea when I’ll be back over there next. Mrs 4/3 is off for a week at the end of the month. Jealous lol

Wow -- beautiful streamlined steam loco, consist and diesel -- the passenger cars all looked pretty special, any history on those? The wide-angle shots really do justice to the shape and design of all of those -- great catch!!! Now if you had just had a vintage Agifold folding 120 film camera to get the shots -- that would have been even better!!! Along with a steaming mug of tea! 😁

lumix GX8 with the 14-140mm f3.5-5.6 lens.
Aperture priority, iso 400 as it was a bit cloudy and to allow a faster shutter speed, aperture around f6.3 shutter speed averaged around 1/1300th
