About Trollstigen
Trollstigen (“the Troll's Ladder”) is the most famous serpentine road in Norway. It combines majestic mountainscapes with impressive engineering. You start the ride early in the morning so you can enjoy this serene place without hordes of tourists. When you get to the serpentine road you can see huge waterfalls tumbling down next to the road. They are so close that you cannot avoid getting wet. As you finish the 11 hairpins you still have some great riding left. You pass the visitor center, an architectural masterpiece, and ride further up the mountains. The mountains and the snow makes this ride a visual feast. As you climb towards the top you will see skiers' cars parked along the road.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute CZcams and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, CZcams, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.

I saw the Marvel movie Black Widow this past weekend and recognized this road in the movie because I virtually road my stationary bike up Trollstigen. Thanks.
Ha ha - I did exactly the same - Nerds Assemble lol

Bike the World is an amazing channel! The quality of the videos is always impeccable and the locations are stunning. It really helps me exercise in this period when gyms are closed. And there are no interruptions by ads!

Glad you enjoy it! Thank you for your wonderfu comment.
Fine video! My grandfather built that road in the 1930s. No machines, just horses.
Amazing engineering taking the time it was built into consideration
One more awesome ride thank you!, 'Bike The World' videos are best for exercise.
Thanks Jayaram, glad you liked it :-)
Maravillosa! Me trae recuerdos de los años más plenos de mi vida. En 1995, julio, bajé esta excitante ruta con una caravana y mi familia. Subíamos hacia Cabo Norte recorriendo Noruega. Gracias por revivir mi memoria con este vídeo.

Thanks for your efforts to contribute such fantastic landscapes to us..it feels almost like training on the road when using enough imagination. And I love not having someone in front of me : ) generally.....Chapeau! So..next ride....
looks amazing but without sound, one can't experience it actually
The summits on the right hand in the sun 7:53 are called Queen, King and Bishop.
Another great video, thank you. Think that 'in the real world' I would probably have had difficulty going up any more quickly than the cow!!!
Well maybe a cow's speed is better, then one really has time to enjoy the view :-)
I have just discovered this CZcams channel and used one of my training apps to ride along with the video. The quality of the video is outstanding and I will be looking at Open Road as well. Great work!
Thanks Leslie, enjoy the ride :-)
Yeah, it looks absolutely fantastic, would love to cycle up it but it does look a tad remote lol
Yes, it is rather remote, but very beautiful :-)
Amazing 😍😍
Been waiting for you to do this one for ages!
As usual you didn't let us down with another stunning ride and views.
One more for the indoor bike.

One ride I would love you to do is the Transfăgărășan Highway in Transylvania, Romania!
Another amazing route winding it's way up the Fagaras mountains, but maybe just a bit out of the way even for you guys?
@@cumbrian9028 That would be an awesome addition to our collection of world-class rides. Thanks for the suggestion :-) The problem with filming these rides is not remoteness, but the weather. In Norway, we had to wait all most a week before the weather cleared up and we could film Trollstigen...
Point well taken about the weather conditions.
Whats often referred to as "The Best, Most Scenic Road in the World" does deserves to have that perfect weather window for your ride! I think the road is only fully open for certain months of the year?
It's pretty obvious that you do a lot of research for your rides so I'm sure this will happen at some point...hopefully later this year?
