- How to remove a BMW exhaust muffler tip, this will be similar on most vehicles.
I used a small oil filter wrench tool, the large wrench may not work for this purpose.

Best video EVER for removing exhaust tips. Thanks man. Spray a little WD40 back in their first to help make it easier.
This tip was straight FIRE!
I’m trying to install some on my 2014 Nissan Altima, but there are already some on it. I’m not sure if they’re welded or not
Nice video. Exactly what i was looking for! Thankyou very much sir
Dr Cursed thank you sir
100th subscriber, keep it up 💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks brother
This will not work on an M series BMW. There is pin sticking out on top that prevents the tips from turning until you get it out about 3/4 of an inch
do you have a video on how to remove exhaust tips from a m6 gc?
Does changing the tip change sound at all?
Where did u buy the covers
Great video! I need to chnage the tips on my 535xi with M package. Question: where did you get that tool from and is the M package exhaust tip easy to remove? Thanks
The 5 series I have in this is an M package, and I bought the tips from an Australian Ebay seller
Will this work on an IS250?
The most simple and easier video for tips on CZcams!!! Will this process work on a 2019 Camry xse???? Thanks!
Where did you find your tips at? Trying to replace mine on a 2010 bmw 135i
www.ebay.com/itm/Tail-Muffler-Exhaust-Rear-Pipe-Tip-For-BMW-5-Series-528i-530i-535d-535i-F10-F18/272648707474?hash=item3f7b211d92:g:FnwAAOSw2xRYPk42
I’m just about to install my first set. How long did it take for the old ones to discolour?
Mine were defaced by stone chips as I drove on gravel a lot, 4 years in my case.
Hey have you done it on 550i exhaust tips I have 13 model I want to learn how to take them off they aren’t like yours. Good job looks nice!
They would be same as ones in this video, held by 5 tension spring clips. They are fairly solid you might think it's welded.
good job; very professional
very much appreciated
A whole lot easier than hammer plywood method brain over Braun. Nice!!
Thanks where can I get new exhaust tips or what kind are they Oem
I got these from Ebay seller Autotrimpro www.ebay.com.au/str/autotrimpro, they are identical with the stock tips.
Great 'how to' video, especially for the hard of hearing...like me!
nice tips you got there.. what’s the outer diameter of those chrome tips?
Surely that dosnt affect the sound ? I want to beef up my audi tt exhaust any advice ?
Haha I wish it did boost the sound. I'm sure older Audi TTs only have one muffler but not sure about yours. Cheapest way is to replace the muffler with a straight pipe otherwise you won't go wrong with a Milltek Sport exhaust system complete/cat back.
Wow nice idea..
i have a 2014 225I and the muffler is making a noise. what do you think might be the problem
I'm not sure what the your noise sounds like but I would suggest you check for unhooked or broken exhaust mountings. Small rocks or collapsed muffler contents will cause a rattling sound from inside the muffler.
Hi, I’ve an Audi A3 hatchback 2017 model and I’m wanting to remove the exhaust tips.
I’ve tried everything to remove them and they are absolutely solid.
Is there something I’m missing ?
Any help much appreciated 👍
Yours must be spring tensioned just like the ones in this video. Have you tried spraying some WD40 on the tension springs or heating them prior to pulling the tips?
I'm assuming there's no locking bolt.

Thanks for Replying 👍
I’ve ordered one of these tools from e bay and I will go from there 👍
I bought an oil filter tool and had them removed in a few minutes 👍
@@RD-ox3ce that's awesome, glad it was a worthy purchase.
Send me the link . I want to buy
Thank you!👍
Genius idea. Never would've thought to use an oil filter wrench. ✌
Instablaster...
I'm guessing this doesn't work if the stock tips were welded on?
No it wouldn't work, though mine looked like it was welded and would not move. After a close inspection, I realized that the 5 spring clips were not welded but had a good gripping tension.
Do this work for a mazda protege 03?
It will work but first check the existing muffler tip as some use bolts to lock onto the output pipe, you can also replace those with a new tip that uses tension springs
Was it welded on?
No, it had 5 tension spring clips.
What year is your BMW
2013 F10
What car model was this??
F10 520d
Be nice if every car was that simple.....
What is the tool used?
That's an oil filter wrench
Wish mine was that easy..kind of looked like theres 2 welded pins holding it in place...
The two pins you are referring to might be the little tension springs welded inside the muffler cap.
@@Appydem I have that on my Acura Integra 1990 how do I take it off? Can u make a video I want to take it off and replace it with this bigger one with Japanese letters on the side looks dope for $20 bucks on Amazon
@@Appydem can it be removed with that tool?
@@bocap1980 I'm sure it can be done with a good grip and adequate muscles, I would suggest removing the bumper for a good gripping position.
@Appydem I got these, but can you show a picture how the clips are to be once installed?
I tried this and it looked like my exhaust was going to break so I stopped
Maybe try again while the exhaust is hot and spray some DW40 from the back end of cap.
Misleading title lol
I'm sure I would have done it in seconds if I wasn't fooling around 🤣
Cool vid but the EDM 👎🏾
Hahaha will use some good techno on the next one
like for the ending :D
Chinese tips, they may not last long..
Yes I bought these cheap but they still solidly attached and looking fresh 2 years later 🤷🏾♂️.
Remember China makes products for different markets and brands starting from cheap builds to affordable and expensive.
a... that's not a muffler knot head
I'm sure my caption says "tip", have a great day.
Applause Ndlovu it did. Sorry my mistake
