Searching A Pre-Civil War Home In Virginia For Relics And Coins

- Please join me and RelicManMatt as we search an old home that dates back to the 1700's. This home was once owned by Matt and he lived there and metal detected the yard over the course of seven years. At that time he was using a Garrett Ace 150 and found many colonial coins, Spanish Reales, Civil War buckles, bullets, and buttons. We had hoped that he probably missed a lot that we would be able to hear with newer machines. You can check out Matt's CZcams channel here: / @relicmanmatt
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my CZcams "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

A little metal detecting somewhere in Virginia. I hope you enjoy the video!
Thanx for the content chigg.sorry to comment so much..atkeast it boost the algorithm..thanx for the entertainment
Oh, I love it, when Professor Beau pops in from time to time, sharing all kinds of things.
Awesome as always!!!
definitely did! Thanks
Thank you Chigg. Your videos always make me smile and today I needed that!
I live half-way between Knoxville and Chattanooga TN. I actually found a couple of oxen shoes last year, here in a friend's back yard.
I have found so many of those teeth to the sickle mowers before, but just now found out what they were.. Thank you for the info 😁
Glad I could be of help.
I hear the road traffic in the background, modern times, and here is Chigg enveloped in history. Chigg the bridge.
I have AT Pros and a Max. And I still take my Ace 250 and 150's out. They do a fine job. If the site feels good I'll go back over it with the AT's and different coils on them. That's the kind of site I'd run several machines over 👍
You are right about that.
That lead ingot are wheel balancing weights they stick to inside of your alloy rims that’s why they have weights stamped on them, as they come in different sizes lol
I've never seen those used as wheel weights. How are they attached?
Very common in England they stick on self adhesive 👍
@@aquachigger they're "sticky weights" they have some serious sticky tape that sticks around the inside of the rim. Typically used on fancy wheels because they don't scratch the bead area.
@Andrew I've never seen those. Thanks
This guy from New England thought you said "auctions" when you said "ox shoes"! 🤣🤣 Love your channel. brother.
Great meeting you at the Garrett hunt! Thanks for sharing your adventures! Ro
That was a fun get together. Thanks
Looks like Matt's already pretty much cleared the place out, but seems like you both really enjoyed yourselves. Thanks for taking us along.
Yeap, he lived there for many years and had plenty of time to do that. It was interesting to see how we would do though.
@@aquachigger What town is that? I can tell you a secret area with gold near a abandoned mine if you tell me where this is.
Surprising what the ACE series machines can do.
I hunted with an ACE 300
for 2 years and absolutely killed it, especially on civil war bullets. Thanx Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE see you on the next
See ya then!
the "lead solder ingot" is a stick on wheel weight for balancing wheels, goes on the inside barrel of the wheel. each segment is a pre determined amount so you can break off what you need.
Ah! A great treasure hunting expedition. Less talk, more searching. It’s just more entertaining (imho) when you take us hunting with you. Keep up the great work. Love your videos in any capacity.
Strange metal object with a spout is a coffee basket from a percolator. The segmented lead strip is an adhesive backed group of wheel weights used in the inside of decorative chrome or mag rims.
Another awesome video. Thank you chiggs
Thanks
I wonder if that old tool without the handle is a rasp.
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Thanks for some great content
It's confirmed, I'm an old timer .
Still a couple months younger than chiggers is bahahaha 😂❤
If Matt had been detecting with a White's 2TRDX, all the relics would still be there just waitin'.
And we are searching the interweb for a relic and coin hunting video by Mr. Aquachigger.
I love the outro song.. Sometimes I stop by just to give it a listen ..
My grandmother has a farm between Stephens City and Winchester, Virginia. They used to find stuff every year when they plowed in the Spring. She used to have a wooden crate that she kept everything they would find. There must've been 30+ belt buckles with "CS" stamped in the center.
.
Bo, were not all that different, bout the same age, couple of old infantry guys! Thanks for another Awesome Video !
I got to melal detected my back year and found little metal army men. I found out that they were my Uncles toys when he was a kid. Back story I live in the home my Grandfather built. I hope you have a blessed day.
looked like a nice day to be hunting neat things lost in the ground keep up the search
The extended stay on his smile after saying it's too good to be true got me.
Thanks for sharing this little hunt .
Some great finds. Keep up sharing this great hobby
Cheers Chigg 👍🏻💚💨
Not bad day chigger after all the fines are not bad today 👍🐈
I believe the lead object that said 26 grams was a wheel weight.
The 3 section thing you found mentioning ingots, looks like more modern wheel weights to me. Especially with the weight stamp on it.
Gosh darn it! I was gardening!
Gotta garden while the sun shines!
Your diggen holes for gold and silver. I'm digging holes to plant trees. Been here from the start, love ya bro.
That root was pretty cool
As always thank you for taking us along 👍
Super cool!
Hey Chigg and and Matt
Fun dig & explore ! Love seeing the old building ruins. You guys made some nice finds too. Take care & best regards !
Maybe the penny was behind the fuse in a fuse block! 😁😁
Chigg and Matt see y’all soon GOD BLESS
awesome!
I enjoyed this video ❤
Indeed that fuse did bring back memories.
The one of few arguments I remember my parents getting into was over a fuse like that. We burnt a fuse something like that and my dad put a penny in it just until morning. (Most store back then closed at 8pm) My mother had a fit! Said he was trying to burn down the house lol. I didn't see the problem with it, it worked. I guess I'm a old timer 🤷♀️🤣
I've gone from vintage to antique a long time ago😂
I think the first item you found could be the tool masons used for pointing mortar in brick. Nice finds, Bo. Thanks for sharing !
Could be, thanks
or a rusty file.
Nice video 👍👍
16:34 My Grandfather would put copper pennies under some of those in the fuse box. Not sure why.
is that the chigger chirping along with a band?!? oh wow........ ;)
my voice, but taken from a video.
Put some pennies in the fuze box 😂 not good Beau!!!
We were using those fuses in the 80s - house from the 30s. I hope the new owners have upgraded the box since then.
Good evening from Syracuse NY brother
"Evening.
Hi my friend enjoy your videos
You know that you can put a penny behind that 30amp fuse and make the system work. Not safe but it works.
Chiggs due for a really great relic ❤
Waiting on the good stuff
You said a log cabin button... I recently found a log cabin button that is a 1838 William Henry Harrison presidential campaign button here in Michigan. You are by far my favorite CZcams detectorists by the way. It's very informative and you've taught me a lot that is help me find relics in my area
That first thing you found looked a lot like an older Pointing tool for Brickwork.
Yay, Virginia.
Just bought a long sleeve tee and a sweatshirt to help the channel. Didn't see any hats....? Bonfire?
Nah, I can't find anyone to make the kind of hats that I want. I'm still looking though. Thanks for your support!
Go Chigger!
Hi chigg that lead you found with the numbers on them is a weight to balance your alloy wheels with
Thanks. Never seen them before.
@@aquachigger yer they are the stick on ones
Aloha Chigg, Thanks for the companionship!
Good to have you here.
@@aquachigger Thanks, it's mutual.
You're first item is a fleshing knife or a joint knife for motor. Can't tell if it's been sharpened.
Got a question Chig. What is the biggest coil I can use on an Ace 400,
What I wonder is how much of this stuff goes for scrap.
those 3 squares of lead are for tire balancing on tractors
Tractors? Why would a tractor need balancing weights like that?
7:09 very large fusible link?
The solder looks like stick on wheel balance weights .
Came here just to say that. It's exactly what that is.
Good to see some normal Chigg video. (Got so involved in cave videos that I quit watching & subsequently my interest has waned.).
No worries. I film what I live.
👊🤩👍
Awesome possum
Wheel weights off a inside of a truck rim ?
Actually… it is a fusestat. It’s a little different than a fuse.
Afternoon, Beau -
We're wondering if your a fan of the Lagina brothers & Oak Island?
Don't know anything about them.
We are finding so much trash on our farm, wish it was easier to find goodies
There is always a lot more trash than treasure. Just don't give up and keep learning. Good luck!
Wheel weights?
How’s mr koi and his friends still in water .? 🐠
Doing just fine. Why do you keep asking about them? Just curious.
You said you had a pond leak other video
👍😸
Bo when are you going to go in that cave/sink hole that’s by the side of that road and leads under that house. You were stopped by rocks and you said you were going to go back sometime with a hammer and chisel and make hole so you can continue your exploration.
In the next month or so. It's on my schedule. Should be a fun adventure.
@@aquachigger I’ll look out for it. I’m looking forward to it and thank you for the reply 👍
I know screw in fuse I was putting one in for my neighbor one time it was brand new soon as it hit the bottom of the hole it blew out and it was like looking like a stick welder striking the arc
Good
what's with the gloves? ;)
I tell ya, if shotgun shell bases were valuable, you would be extremely 💰💰💰💰
I've been dating the ones I find, some are pretty old and some are rare. At first I was like.... ohh it's just another shotgun headstanp... It's kinda fun finding them now.
I should research them more myself. Thanks
Big foot small feet 😂😂😂
Yes. 1
STILL SETTING US UP FOR DISAPPOINTING OUTCOME BUT STILL WATCHING KEEP GOING ON THE BANTER 😊 .
I just record my day as it happens.
You ever think of using a waterpik for cleaning some of these things? I shiver every time you rub them on your pants..
And I was the 88th thumbs up! Which happens to be my favorite number 😍

Chigg is definitely first, but he doesn't count. 😂
@@RaceCar21 awe man, i tried. Some people are fast
So the Yankees wouldn't find them 😂 that's funny. Thx for the video!!!
Stick on wheel weights not ingots
Most awsome pawsom.
Chig rig seems faster on new tyres 🛞 😆
