- I had another awesome day diving out in Governors Lake again, this time connecting with my friend and his son. We took out a lot of trash and found some interesting bottles while doing it. The highlight of the dive for me was this crown top Felix J. Quinn ginger beer bottle, which I've never seen before. I love coming across bottles with the name of my city written on them!
Felix J. Quinn produced bottles in Halifax between 1888 and 1914. Eventually glass was used and these bottles were phased out. They were quite common in Halifax and used for drinking ginger beer, soda water and most likely a strong beer or two. The bottles were primarily imported from British bottle makers, but the contents were produced in Nova Scotia. The glaze helped protect the stamped logo on the bottle.
There is a great article about the history of Felix J. Quinn which you can read here: shorturl.at/ML09P
And also a link to Saint Mary's University information about the glazed bottle: www.smu.ca/anthropology/anthr...

Hello!
Hello!
Pop's here. Why not just pick it up instead of fanning it and create a silt cloud.
True. Was trying my best not to, but any movement caused silt to move
