    I'm getting my first pair of hearing aids at 26, and I am not on board with paying more for oticon then paying for batteries as well. This video has given me a great idea about the functionality of phonak as I'm not too familiar with the different brands.

    Why are my phonak hearing aids flashing yellow when I have them in the charging case? Are they really charging?

    Good video! Too bad the the on/off switch requires a light to flash rather than convention toggle so that you know it on or off. My 95 year-old mother really struggles with the switch as it is so small.

    Q. At 0:29 we are told that the batteries are being charged by the green lights flashing. If that is the case why is there no charging lead going into the back of the case?

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  Před 3 lety

      That particular case has the optional battery pack attached to it, charging the aids from there.

    If the aid is pushed into its charging point in the opposite way. Will it stay, or charge or neither?

      Sorry it will not go in.. Will be stuck and the hearing aid can be damaged

    I Finally have my ba
    tteries installed in the recharging case. They are alternating & each one flashing separately. Is this how they should work?

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  Před 3 lety

      Yes, that is perfectly normal. Once fully charged the lights should remain solid green while in the charger.

    I heard of a hearing aid exploding in a patient's ear. Why did that happen?

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  Před 4 lety

      I have never heard of anything like that. Headphones, yes but nor quality hearing aids.

    I have the rechargeable and the model that uses the 312 Zinc Air battery. I prefer the the replaceable battery model. They both work well when operating with fully charged batteries, but the charge on the rechargeable hearing aid usually will not last the whole day. I get about 12 hours before needing a charge. My Audiologists says it’s because I stream a lot. I don’t stream at all but I do use Bluetooth for phone calls. However, last visit to Audiologists, I had her turn off Bluetooth to see if it gives me more battery life.

    I've just receive my fathers rechargable hearing aids these also have batteries I need to get them recalabrated & new moulds or can they be changed to the domes I have them on my other aids he also gave me.

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  Před 3 lety

      Depending on the model/brand of hearing aid you have, there is a good likelihood they can be adapted to use slim tubes and domes.

      They might not be the B model, but rather marvel. Press and hld the donw volume button for 15 seconds and then place in the charger to retry. There is a software update available via your hearing care provider to fix this.

  • @steriovo
    @steriovo Před 2 lety

    YOU HAVE NOT COVERED INCREASING THE VOLUME PROPERLY , WITHOUT THE MANUAL ITS VERY HARD TO FIND OUT YOURSELF FOR AN ELDERLY PERSON , IS IT ONE QUICK TAP OR WHAT ?

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi steriovo, If your audiologist has enable the volume control for your hearing aid (it's usually on by default), then it would typically be a quick press of the button to adjust the volume. Since there is only one button per hearing aid, which button you use does matter. A quick press of the RIGHT button will increase the volume, a quick press of the LEFT button will decrease the volume.

      The battery on these is rated to last 5 years and can be replaced with a normal repair
