In better hearing, in noisy enviroment? Definately!
But in focussing on Rechargeable models? Not at all!
Rechargeable batteries die out. Just look at cellphones. Plus if they loose power, its not a minute, to change the batteries. No its half a hour, without proper hearing!
      Simply not good enough...
And if you need a health trackers, you get a smartwatch anyhow...

The focus on speech in noise is what I care about most. I'm glad to hear that Phonak are concentrating on this. To be honest I don't want health tracking in my hearing aids - I doubt many people do. There are already other devices for that.

Hi again, Matthew! Thanks for answering my question on CZcams.
We're looking at the Phonak Audeo Lumity L90 R.
I've watched several of your videos, which are outstanding by the way.
I think you mentioned that Phonak's pattern for releasing new products is about every 2 years?
Since the L90R was released in August of 2022, I'm wondering if they will be replaced anytime soon? Wondering if we should wait maybe?
Do you know if they've been able to correct the microphones on the hands-free thing that can pick up additional voices and noise other than the hearing aid wearer's voice?
Thanks a million Matthew for whatever help you might lend us! And thanks again for all the great videos!

    Well... No.
I did the Hearing Tracker quiz and there was not a mention of frequency loss which for many people is the main cause of having difficulty in noisy situations - it;s amazing what a missing "s" or "sh" sound will do to sabotage speech comprehension in noise (or even in calm situations when you think about it. But, whether or not they know it people will simply reply that they have trouble in noisy situations simply because that is most often how the question is posed. All of this makes one yearn for the day when one can simply hear their wive's voice without having to buy a new expensive set of HA's every three years.

@@HearingTracker Hey Matthew. The fitting went very well, thanks. I have the L90RT and they are very nice and an improvement over the Widex Beyond 440s, but I'm still struggling sometimes to hear my girlfriend's voice in particular. I've already noticed that hands-free cell phone calls when in a car aren't suitable for the person on the other end of the call because they're complaining of hearing background/wind noise.
I was experiencing a lot of feedback with the Widex after my audiologist maxed them out as much as possible. No feedback with the Lumitys! I am hearing some things that I didn't hear with the Widex.
I have custom earmolds and the ones that came with the Lumity are much better than the ones that came with the Widex. These are softer and less irritating.
Changing the wax filter seems to be much more difficult with the Lumity compared to changing them on the hard earmolds that came with the Widex.

It's easy to add fitness tracking so why not? It's not the most important thing, of course, but as long as you're walking around with electronic devices on your head anyway, why not include all the bells and whistles?

  • @rushevents

Wow, now you have to bring ANOTHER charger with you when you travel. Also, should they die you have to wait to charge them. Such a deal.
Note to phonak and all the others, batteries are more convenient. They last a WEEK!!
Should they die I can swap the battery in about 5 seconds and it is FULLY charged again for another WEEK!!
Just because something seems cool does NOT mean it is.
So, a sincere message to your engineers and marketing team: F.O.A.D.

Come on Phonak time to move to Bluetooth 5 and give us aptX. How can a device be marketed as advanced when its using an 8 year old Bluetooth standard that has lower range, increased power consumption and higher latency than its modern replacement?

I can explain why they use a somewhat older standard it's because classic provides better streaming quality vs say the newer Bluetooth low energy and I can attest to that music sounds better all the same

@@HearingTracker My Charger Case Go for the Audeo Life is constantly needing resets and seems quite unreliable. Looks like they are using the same chunky charger for the Life versions of these too. Would be nice to see a range of inductive chargers as this one is really bulky and isn't suitable for just popping in a jacket pocket. It would be nice to have a backup charging option as I can see lots of people struggling with the fiddly reset procedure which is necessary to un-brick these chargers after they stop working.

Thank you, Hearing Tracker. The print was so small in the Phonak user manual I couldn't read it. These are extremely expensive hearing aids. Why couldn't the company provide an adequate user manual, particularly for those getting along in their years and wearing glasses? The company website did not provide instructions on cleaning their hearing aids; I had to go to CZcams for help. The company's plastic tools used for cleaning their hearing aids are cheaply made. And if something goes wrong with the Phonak hearing aids or they need to be replaced, the company charges $300 to replace or repair the item. This company is about price gouging and is not at all interested in their customers. Not a good company!
