I really appreciate the work of this person. I looked for tutorial on flat cap making, but none taught what this video did. No youtube channel tell as to how to take measurements and draw on pattern like this. Big applause for making nice cap with limited resources and sharing the skills.

I've made hundreds of outfits and hundreds of costumes over 48 years. I was taught to so when I was 10. I strongly believe you can wear absolutely anything you want if you like it. The length of the first piece is 12 inches - but how wide is it - I don't think I ever saw a measurement for that side.

This is what I understood: The arc from ear to ear is 10inch, so then she makes the first part of the pattern 8inch and the second part of the pattern 2inch thick.

I found this video useful yet frustrating. There was too much freehand work. Their numbers did not match what they were stating with the numbers on the screen vs what they were doing. I get their general principal of hat making, but I feel that this video was a mere guide on how to get there and not 100%.
