    Printed your pattern out just to check against my own... the sizing is way off

    • @SachisStudio
      @SachisStudio  Před 5 měsíci +5

      If you print from your phone or iPad, printers sometimes change scaling automatically. In order to check the scaling, you can measure the bottom of the triangle, and it should be 3”. 3” x 8 (8 pieces to complete the hat) =24” is the finished circumference at 100% scale. This pattern does not include ease, meaning if you have 23” head measurement, you should aim for a bigger size, and how much bigger it should be depends on how you want to wear the hat and how thick your outer & lining fabrics are. I thought I mentioned this in the video, but I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear!
      I’m sure you can just use your own pattern, but I wrote this mostly for other people who need help with similar sizing issues. Thanks for bringing this up!

    I made this hat. I should have made it a size smaller but I wanted the tops of my ears to be covered. I love it! I need to finish the band a little differently for the prick stitching showed and I want to add an additional layer to keep it from slipping down. I am going to make a smaller one when I have more wool scraps. this was a great tutorial!

  • @emmahaslam1905
    @emmahaslam1905 Před 7 měsíci

    Very nicely done! I'm thinking of attempting a hand sewn version of this using the ' English stitch' which is a way of sewing 4 layers at once while enclosing all the seams. Technically it could turn out to be reversible if it works....

    • @SachisStudio
      @SachisStudio  Před 7 měsíci +1

      wow “English stitch” sounds so interesting! I have to research about that ❣️😳

    • @emmahaslam1905
      @emmahaslam1905 Před 7 měsíci

      @@SachisStudio there is a You Tuber called V. Birchwood who made a lovely demo video on the technique. Basically you sew 4 folded layers together to incase the raw edges sew 123 and then 432 , 123 ,432 skipping the last layer on each side till you get to the end of the seam.
