- This song is dedicated to country legend, Dottie West, and all victims of child abuse. Dottie West was an incredible woman. What many don't know about her is that she had a very traumatic childhood-- she suffered years of sexual abuse at the hands of her father, resulting in a miscarriage at age 15. When she was 17, and her father threatened to move her north with him, far away from Tennessee, she had an emotional breakdown and told her teachers at school all about what she had been through; thankfully, her father was finallyput in prison. A few years later she married steel guitar player Bill West, and they traveled to Nashville every weekend to help her make connections in the industry. As talented as she was, she was repeatedly turned down by record label after record label. But she never gave up, she persisted and worked her butt off-- and at the right time, with the right people around her, (Chet Atkins and Jim Reeves to name a few) it paid off in the end. This song doesn't do her strength justice, but I hope it encourages someone in some way.
This is just an acoustic recording, but I'm thinking about releasing it. Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments! :)
As always, thanks for listening, and be sure to follow me on social media!

Beautiful song
Thank you very much! 🙏
Wow. It's got hook and traction. Deep (not cheap) lyrics. Melody is just right. The high soprano rings. Thinking acoustic is best approach.
Thank you so much for that! I take pride in my melodies and writing lyrics that have having, so i appreciate you taking the time to comment 🙏❤️
Should the title be Dottie's Daddy's Radio?
