    Use the flood damaged car. It’s in better condition than the other one. Easy fix for you. Swap them Mark. Great job

    Why dont you fix the flood damaged car and use the first fiesta as the donor.
    Swap engine and box, ecu, etc

      Yep, swap interior and scrap that one instead.
      Could even leave the higher mileage engine and box and keep the low mileage one

    STOP and re-evaluate. i'd be stripping that interior out, seats carpet then drying it out for a day with a heater. if it runs and drives it could just be interior flood damage and not engine.
    Too good to scrap it.

  • @trevorjarvis3021
    @trevorjarvis3021 Před 6 měsíci +5

    Don’t be too hasty making your decision to scrap the flood damaged Fiesta Mark - it looks to be in better condition than the first one!!! Remove the seats and do one of your super cleans on them, same with the belts and all carpets. Sort out the reason the water got in and it will be well sorted. 😊

  • @charliecoco2115

    Mark I think it’s time you invested or trialled a Go-pro and attach it to your head or chest so you can be totally hands free when showing us the detail work.
    It’s a pleasure to watch all your projects and to see someone doing the right thing giving us all faith in the honesty of mechanics, once again thank you Mark.
    If you fancy an unusual project I’ve got a 17 year old Mercedes SLK 200 compressor fully mot’d but with shocking bodywork lol.

  • @fiestasiphil
    @fiestasiphil Před 6 měsíci +4

    Save all of them 😎 you should be able to find an interior fairly cheap, do your usual cambelt water pump and service on the flood damage one, top work as always 😎

  • @stevenc5227
    @stevenc5227 Před 6 měsíci +4

    Either take the interior out the flood damaged and clean it or swap interior with the damaged car, use the damaged car as a donor, makes sense and less work needed, you are probably going to service the cars whichever one you use, flooded cars normally have a bad smell, if not then it must be fresh water that's entered the car somehow, plug it in and see what errors come up, don't think this car has been flooded, but water has leaked in, Its been sitting around for quite a while i think, that's why its mouldy, there is no mud inside like a normally flooded car.

    You’ve had a right touch there with the flood damaged car! Sometimes Copart surprises you in a good way 😂 A new interior, thorough check over and it should be good to go. They are known for leaking water through the vents and holes around the rear lights but these can be resealed easily. Just done one of these myself, 2009 in Avalon Blue, great little cars.

    These leak from various places. Vents behind the back bumper. 3rd brake light seal. Rear lights seals. Rubber grommet on rear wiper. I had one in just the same condition. Stripped out the interior. Jetwashed it and coated it on Valet Pro Enzyme. fixed the seals and put it back together. Never had a problem since and that was 18 months ago.

    The ka looks good but watch the gearbox its common with them copart alot of people who have dealings with them haven't been happy because of the listing on the auction has been different when they come to pick the vehicle up and there cars haven't been cheap like they used to be so be careful it's been on many times on u tube people complaining and fair play to you for helping someone out with a car but you still got to make money as well mate

  • @MrPabsUk
    @MrPabsUk Před 6 měsíci

    Flood damage can mean a lot of things, it might have been left outside with the windows/boot open in the rain or something.. I` d swap the interior from the crashed original one (complete, carpets, soundproofing, belts etc), sell it to your punter cheap, then use the original one as a donor. (I don't believe in toshing up cars with pillar damage anyway, as a lot of the energy in a crash goes through the A-pillars).

  • @DR.N2STY
    @DR.N2STY Před 6 měsíci +2

    You said there on a tight budget surely it's gonna cost a lot less to fix the flood damage car just pull all the interior and give it a good drying take what's good of the first car scrap the shell I'm sure you can find a project for that engine

    Use the first one to repair the flood damaged one. even if you swap the interior . engines and gearbox easier fix than the first one, Also it'll be up and running and MOT in a couple of days,

  • @carlevans285
    @carlevans285 Před 6 měsíci

    I'd carefully use the first fiesta to sort the flood one, swap the interior over and whilst doing so just check all electrical connections for moisture and spray them with some cleaner. Then give it a good service and it would be good for your customer who is on a budget. Then just sit on the first car until you find the bits for it and clean the flood interior up to go back in the first. The car as probably just been sat in some low standing water, nothing too drastic.

  • @9310151
    @9310151 Před 6 měsíci +2

    its very rare i comment but dont you think it would make sense to clean the flood car up after all the customer only wants a cheap run around so they wont be botherd about the mileage and by the looks of the air filter its proberly had a recent service the decision is yours good look

  • @mikeymike3634

    Nobody's said about just lifting the carpets in the front and rear footwells to see if the insulation under them is wet. If they are dry and by the looks of it I think they will be It's just the old Ford Fiasco leak into the boot problem. sort that out and then break the other one with the pillar and roof damage. much cheaper

  • @peteredwards9147
    @peteredwards9147 Před 6 měsíci +1

    Keep to your original plan, just use the flood car for parts, the engine may run, but it's high mileage. Remember all the running gear has done the same high mileage. The interior has no value, all the electrical wiring and components will need checking and drying out. I'm not saying it can't be done, but the time and extra expenditure it will take to put and three cars back o the road I believe wouldn't be worth it. At the end of the day, how much is a 2009 ford fiesta with 120,000 worth. But good luck with what ever you do.

    Flood one may have just had back end into water somehow or some other odd reason for water in boot. Do your usual thorough checks, maybe drive it for a few days and then do it up.

  • @bigphilswheels
    @bigphilswheels Před 6 měsíci

    I'd check that everything works on the flooded car, then completely strip the interior and inspect it for water and rust damage. I'd then hit the car with the power washer to see if it leaks inside, confirming where the water got in. If everything looks OK, I'd valet the life out of it and rebuild it. The sale will then finance parts for the damaged one, helping his budget out. Even if it needs interior trim parts, they're so cheap to buy as they don't normally sell. Good luck.👍 👍

  • @jimgardner9044
    @jimgardner9044 Před 6 měsíci

    Check the front seatbelts, If they work as they should then it aint too bad. If they got wet they swell up and won't turn. Looks like your lucky day. Clean it and give it to customer see if they can handle it for a month or so. You can always fall back on plan A.

    Obviously the 09 fiesta has or has had a leak, put some " tiger seal" around the joins at top of tailgate where it's probably leaking from, remove the interior, give it a good clean, as your selling a car to someone you know , fit a timing belt kit, water pump and thermostat, oil and filter change and other filters, then you don't have to worry about the lack of service history, refit interior and move onto next project. Simples.
