    Just bought one of these with no manual .. I'm no idiot, but honestly, although I can't think of a single use I'll ever have in my daily white trash grind for such a device, I've always wanted one. I predate computers and four banger calcs .. and the handheld power even in 2023 astounds me. I have thoroughly enjoyed following this video and 'playing' with my calc with many pauses. Honestly .. I think this is the most fun I've ever had on CZcams. Thanks dude!

    Helpful but it would be better if you explained the reasoning for the keystrokes and also if you said "to insert, a character, hit 2nd, INSERT" instead of " here is another way to change an equation, hit 2nd, DELETE"
    The first method helps the viewer learn the meaning of the key strokes whereas the second method just forces a person to memorize key strokes.

      This is a great calculator for calculus, and it is the one I used all throughout single variable calculus and beyond! You will be analyzing all kinds or properties of functions, including intercepts, intervals of increase/decrease, relative/absolute extrema, critical numbers, discontinuities, limits, slopes of tangent lines, integrals, and much more that this calculator can help you with, only when the graph is created.

    Could I get some help please? I hope you are familiar with the Collatz Conjecture. [Pick a number ~ if it is odd, then [*3, +1]. If it is even, then [Divide by 2]. Keep doing this. You will eventually reach a 4-2-1 loop.] Now, picture a chart with 0-100 on the bottom & 0-100 on the left side. The bottom row will be for the starting number. The left side will be for the highest number reached before dropping to the 4-2-1 Loop for that starting number. Can such a program be written?

    • @TutorTerrific
      @TutorTerrific  Před 2 lety

      A program like this could be written easily, and it is really cool idea! Do you really need a program? If you just want to see the graph for your particular domain and range, might be easier to do it by hand. Any odd output over 33 would be off your grid in the first step, So you may want to stop at 33 on the horizontal axis.

Understand that this is Not a calculator that solves equations for you. Is this calculated capable doing |7|=-7

    • @TutorTerrific
      @TutorTerrific  Před 3 lety

      Are you asking it to do absolute value calculations, like |-7| = 7? If so, then yes. Click the mass button and then tap the number 1 to get this: abs( that is absolute value.

      I have never played around with a test mode, so I’m not sure. How do you access it on the TI 84?

    is there a way to graph circles?

    • @TutorTerrific
      @TutorTerrific  Před 3 lety

      On paper: take your circle equation and solve for y, remembering the plus/minus sign when taking the square root. Graph the top half (the plus version of your answer) for Y1 and the bottom half (the minus version of your answer) for Y2. Then press graph.

    Can you do geometry on this calculator

    • @TutorTerrific
      @TutorTerrific  Před 3 lety

      Well, yes, but it depends on what kind of geometry you are talking about. If you’re wanting this calculator to be able to tell you if two sides of a triangle are congruent, it won’t help you there, but it can certainly be used for any of the arithmetic operations required by geometry, such as determining if two angles are supplementary.

    Very Good tutorial, but 1*5+3 and 1*(5+3) both equals 8 😄

    • @TutorTerrific
      @TutorTerrific  Před rokem

      That’s because multiplication by 1 is the multiplicative identity, no change occurs when multiplying by 1. Change that 1 to a 2 and see what happens then!

    And you are expecting the calculator first user to understand all that information in one shot? Your video besides having a whole lot of information to learn is very difficult to see what is the function or the numbers you punched in because the angle of the calculator works only for you. You need to lift the upper side of the calculator so your audience can see what is that you are doing unless l am next to you which is not the case. You need to go slowly and hold the calculator in your hands so we can have a better view of what you are doing and this way your hand won't be on the way between what you do and what we can see. It is the first time l am watching a video like this and also the first time using this type of calculator. Good try!!

      I appreciate the feedback. I’m not expecting someone to learn all this in the first try, I’m expecting you to pause and rewind sections of the video quite often. Also, I have definitely improved my filming in my most recent calculator video, which is on the TI 84 Plus. I know it would’ve been much better with natural sunlight, but I had to film this when my kids were asleep, I have very little ones in our house. If I am able to make it big on CZcams, I will definitely be spending money on proper camera equipment, because now I just use my iPhone 6s.
