With Kobe's death it was specific though - because Kobe died estranged from his parents. They never approved of his wife Vanessa and they had a huge falling out - even ended up in legal battles of them selling his meromabilia. Paul Pierce seeing that I think saw how horrific an early death was leaving their family "unhealed" and the parents to have to live with that the rest of their lives wanted to make sure he didn't die or have his father die - and have similar regrets.

I love Kobe but i have to
admit, this kind of death has added to his legacy. I rather he had not died but in terms of his legend, he will be more remembered now than he would have died of old age. His story is stuff of legends. This is crazy.

I 100% agree. I will say though if Kobe were given the choice "become even greater and go out like a legend" or "die of old age with your family healthy and surrounding you" he would have chose the latter without thinking.

Once again my condolences go out to Kobe Bryant, his daughter and the Bryant Family and the Families involved in this unfortunate tragedy. My prayers go up to all 😖🙏, and I Pray that God will see everyone through in a time of of need & comfort. We all have differences within our families and our friends, just like my mother stated before she passed away give me flowers, while I'm living, because life is too Short. Kobe Bryant was Loved on and off the court, and will forever be cherished. May God continue to Strengthen, Unite, and Heal the Families, along with Support. Blessing S. 🙏

L.A has really been hit hard as of late.. that community probably hasn't even process the loss of losing Nipsey Hussle so early in his life. Now throw Kobe in there and I'm sure it must equal the pain. I'm from Detroit and even I HURT when we lost the young Kings. 👑👑

Why are you comparing a gang member that promoted black on black violence to a stand-up person like Kobe? You would be from Detroit 👎

@dee4560 "Hussle wanted to focus on "giving solutions and inspiration" to young black men like him. He denounced gun violence through his music, influence, and community work. He spoke openly about his experiences with gang culture. Affiliated with the Rollin' 60s, he often performed and worked with rival Bloods-affiliated rappers to set an example."
Soooooo..... where's the part where he was promoting BOB violence? 🤔

I have to agree that Kobe’s death is different. I have never seen a world mourn a person’s death like what happened to Kobe. His death has changed many people for the better and hoping everyone can be a better person, God fearing, hard worker, great father/mother, creative and many more like Kobe.
He set the standard for not just basketball but on how to live life. He wasn’t perfect but no one is. Only one person was perfect that is recorded in history. His legacy and spirit lives on and someday, we will meet.
    God Bless,
    Mark
