  • FIRST NIGHT IN MALAYSIA Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is known for many reasons, however, the food scene in Kuala Lumpur is one of the best in the world! In the next videos here in Malaysia I'm going to try much of the local food, but in this video I went to the Jalan Alor food street and ate the first foods I found! Many more videos to come from Malaysia!

@@TravelEscapesDetour Not sure if you've found his favourite laksa. He had his favourite laksa in Sarawak and that laksa is called Laksa Sarawak. Sarawak is on the other side of Malaysia. In Borneo island. Although it is possible to get Laksa Sarawak in certain parts of Malaysia but if you mention Georgetown, a Malaysian would think you have Laksa Penang since it is a Penang dish and it is completely different from Laksa Sarawak. There are many types of laksa in Malaysia so make sure you are spesific when mentioning laksa.

@@TravelEscapesDetour There is a great food culture in Malaysia, Penang, Port Dickson and many other towns and Islands are great. There is a small Chinese village on stilts, raising fish in the SW not a long drive from Singapore. Yummy fresh fish and Authentic Chinese cuisene, better than China. I bought stingray skins for tanning there and in Bangladesh, good eating too. Skip the Jelly fish though.
It is nice to drive to singapore exploring the places. You would like a hidden gem for banking and business on Labuan, Federal Territory, Victoria... It is a kind of paradise for companies and Banking, a quiet "Singapore" but better. I almost took my old company there from the US 30 years back. Still had huge possibilities but never a giant. Good fishing etc.
I started watching your chhannel when you first arrived in Manila and love it. You are so good at it. Had an office in Cebu, B'kok, Denpasar, Kaohsiung and Bhavnagar, and Mumbai, I miss the friends and close business ties very much. Great people everwhere. Kl is far away from east coast islands and borneo islands. That is why they are not crowded. These are some east coast islands:
      1.perhentian islands
      2. Rawa island
      3. Kapas island
      4. Redang island
      5. Lang tengah island
      6. Tioman island
      7. Tenggol island
Ken abroad only touched perhentian islands.

I definitely ate a lot of local food! I ate Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Indian food, Thai food, Chinese food, again more local food... Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines.. These other countries bring their authentic food with them, so you can get some of the best food from all over Asia all in one place!

Very touristy prices ! ...locals don't go to Jalan Alor ...coz it's dominated by non locals.... none of the vendors are Malaysian...besides fruits , none of the food sold are Malaysian food. Jalan Alor is meant for tourist to sample the other ASEAN countries fare.
