Katie's apartment is great! I know my daughter does not miss old and moldy Sally with the horrid carpet and cement block walls. We put her in the same type of off campus housing and she had a great time picking out her decor and making it exactly the way she wanted. It really is funny how the boys don't really care as long as there's a bathroom, a bed, a TV and internet. It is more fun moving the girls in for sure.

i’ve had the same issue at my house before with the water bc i have well water. i agree with the other comments that you should let the water run for a little bit in order for the smell to go away. i also recommend using a filter in the shower bc well water can make your hair turn colors if you have color treated hair. i also highly suggest using purified/distilled water for things like drinking or brushing your teeth. it’s definitely an annoying process but you’ll eventually get used to it
As someone who just finished their college apartment days (for now) this makes me so nostalgic! It’s a great time and you learn so much about yourself and the world during these days!
Jill you are an amazing mother to those kids! To help each of them clean and set up their dorms just goes to show how much you love and care for them. Btw it came out amazing! ❤ Major props to all the effort you put into making your kids lives easier and more comfortable. You always have a positive attitude and energy that I truly appreciate.

Jill, those facilities are probably on well water. Due to stagnation over the summer break hydrogen sulfide gas has accumulated in the plumbing. Once those facilities are populated it should mitigate the problem. Run the water from all the faucets and Make sure you aerate the apt. Use distilled/purified water for drinking, cooking, dental hygiene. If the problem persists contact the building manager/engineer. Hope this helps.

What a great and beautiful mother Jill is and has always been.
My gag reflex is bad with smells too. Take the heads off the faucets and set them in CLR or if you cannot remove tie CLR in a bag to the faucets. Also, pour CLR in the drain in case it is the drains creating the smell when it is getting wet. You could have an issue with the P-trap if it had gotten dry over the summer. Could have had old stuff dried in it.

I have a weird educational background, I have degrees in Mechanical, and Computer Engineering. First Mechanical, I had a private room all the years I attended. And each new semester room had that fresh pine scent of newly shampooed carpet, everything spotless. Brennan, I always brought my own pillows. 😊👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
A suggestion for Katie’s mirror…use a hot glue gun to keep the shells on or gorilla glue! You two did a beautiful job decorating!♥️ Also, GO GATORS!🐊

Also another glue option could be E6000 glue, it’s really strong crafting glue that a lot of people use too

I hope the sulfur water situation has been resolved. It’s probably bacteria related. I would not use it at all. I’d also let the water run for awhile before using it, after it’s fixed.
Out some baking soda, vinegar and warm water down the drains it will clean them out and the smell will be gone

*palpable (you can really see it/feel it/almost touch it) not palatable (you can almost taste it). Not meaning to be harsh here, just wanted to note the difference.
Is it the water or is it coming from the drain because if the trap is dry from the summer the sewer gas will vent up until you fill the traps back up with water.

My oldest brother lives in Idaho and they have well water. Their water softener smells like sulfer. It's horrible!!! I refuse to shower if I'm there because it's like taking a shower in fresh peeled hard boiled eggs... the water the water, the more it smells. I can't stand it.

@itsthedonnellys unfortunately they do. But I can sure smell it on their clothes. I don't think I could get used to it! When I come home from his house, I can't eat eggs for a while, and I love eggs!
