We need to stay grim determined to gradually cut off their way to make money. Admittedly the time to nip it in the bud was two years ago and western lack of decisive unity has cost us and especially Ukraine. All we can do is to do as we are doing. The fulcrum point in my opinion is to get India on our side. I have been saying this for two years.

India? No way will India side with the West. They have struck a deal for oil at much -reduced rates with Russia. Theyve never had it so good.

Why? Where were Americans when India was fighting a war with Pakistan? When India asked for help, Americans decided that their natural partner was a military dictatorship called Pakistan. They provided India’s enemy with arms. Now you ask for India to help the US? In 1971, the US were going to nuke western India under Nixon. Russian ships and a nuclear submarine deterred the Americans from following through. Amazing how western people have no education in history.
Sole Bay,North Sea, designated a safe haven is home to many supertankers which the smaller Russian tankers offload. This has been a major concern for the area many years. It was government decision to designate Sole Bay as Safe Haven this could easily be reversed.

We took a ferry to Tallin, a few weeks ago, and there were three smallish rust-bucket oil tankers a few km out of the harbor. These were extremely sorry-looking vessels and looking like a few more storms might do them in.

Wouldn't you agree that Turkey has closer ties to the west by being candidate for the EU and part of NATO? Far more leverage should be made of there relationships and allow NATO vessels into the Black Sea
The black sea is off limits to combat vessels at a time of conflict.
There is the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits [Bosporus & Dardanelles]. It stipulates that in wartime, if Turkey is not involved in the conflict, warships of the nations at war may not pass through the Straits, except when returning to their base.
On civilian shipping it says that Turkey can close the straits to merchant ships belonging to countries at war with Turkey.

Not in the long run it's not, how productive is it if it funds the continued war in Ukraine then ultimately onto the European states themselves, such shortsighted thinking is how we got here in the first place, Germany in particular was far too reliant on a known rogue state for its energy security, an incredibly risky and unwise decision in the event of conflict which Russia repeatedly finds impossible to avoid, the paranoid corrupt police state mentality always fears imaginary threats of invaders and the cabal in power deliberately creates this delusion to control its otherwise restless population, NATO is a defence organisation and nobody was ever threatening Russia militarily, the failure of post-Soviet European states to forensically eject the Soviet Russian micro populations deliberately put there to obliterate their local cultures and force Soviet assimilation on them has directly led to the pockets of supposed oppressed Russian peoples Putin manipulates politically to justify his regional military forays, that this ejection is only finally happening now is astounding, when this war is finally over and the Russian state power structure effectively collapses they must be forced to give up their nuclear weapons forever and be permanently removed from the UN Security Council.
