You'll love Philadelphia. It is a great city with lots to offer. I know Temple well. Two degrees from the place. My T-shirt reads "Could have gone anywhere, could only afford Temple"
@@andreeaioanas7137 Hopefully Covid will be behind us soon and you can enjoy some of the indoor venues. If you are into outdoors, the park up in the Wissahickon Valley is superb. Actual wildlife there. West Mt. Airy is a great section of the city.
@@nonewherelistens1906 I hope so too because I’d like to enjoy some more things! I do really miss nature and wildlife, so I’ll have to check that out! Thank you!
I’m a TU Alum and a Philadelphian native, so 1st welcome to the city. And just so you know a lot of the schools on TU are newly built. They were not there in the early 2000’s
At 7:38 I recognized your videoing up Master Street from Broad. I lived 15 hundred block of Master after being born at Temple hospital 1942. The building with the Moose head was the old Moose lodge/hall/club just down Broad street from Master. My older brother had his wedding reception there in 1956. I think a mask keeps germs/microbes out of my mouth/nose the same way a chain link fence keeps mosquitoes out of my yard.😀😀😀
Well you probably know by now this video is 10 months old, Temple university is a beautiful campus and a great school, but be warned! it’s not in the best of neighborhoods so not travel off-campus at night alone make sure you’re with a group of people I grew up in that area and you could find yourself in a very dangerous situation, Things have approved somewhat but not that much that’s still in the heart of North Philadelphia just be careful.
Thank you! I definitely know not to travel at night, and if I absolutely have to I call a Lyft! Things are still pretty messy there, but I’m enjoying it in Philly!
@@JohnSmith-ct5jd Philly in general has a high crime rate. I'm saying this as a Philly native who loves Philly regardless. I love my city, but I wouldn't pretend it's heaven on earth like everyone else in the comments
Curious how things are going for you now that you've surely been exposed to the real city by now. Philly's got a lot to offer but it's really no joke. Best advice is just to respect people and not be one of those transplants who thinks they know everything. Btw what's with the chain lol
Things are going great! I enjoy living in Philadelphia, and definitely had a lot to adjust to and learn, but I've come to love it a lot! There are pros and cons to Philly, like any big city, and sadly you get used to and desensitized to the negative aspects. I really tried to take advantage of the fact that I'm in a new city and explored a lot of Philadelphia, really falling in love with the history, variety of cultures, the food, and people (this took some time). The chain is my personal style!
@@andreeaioanas7137 That's how a lot of us dressed growing up because it was the culture, so it always looks funny to me. Especially in Philly. It's basically a Philly look originally, to an extent. Anyway, glad to hear it's going well for you. Yeah there really is a lot of negative but it's just important to always remember where you are. The community around Temple feels unseen and unheard and powerless, and they grew up violent. It's not your fault your campus is swallowing their community but to them it's as personal as personal can be. If you never forget the situation and always keep your head about you, you'll be alright. There's plenty of people from Philly worth getting to know if you get on their level and see them as human beings while respecting the differences. But like any group, there's plenty you want to stay as far away from as possible. They're pretty easy to spot, and they exist across all racial, ethnic, and other boundaries.
The ignorant people, homicides, armed robberies, car jacking, heroin epidemic, horrible public school system. Best decision of my life was leaving killadelphia.
I couldn't agree with you more, I moved from Philly to Sarasota, FL almost a year ago. I don't want to go back to visit family, they can come visit me.
🙏 it’s a ghetto dump. Drugs homicides homeless people and the fakest people you’ll meet. I left years ago. There’s nothing this city has to offer and some people will find out the hard way.

Night? Do not even be on campus at night. Even during the day stay on the campus. It is very dangerous there.
