- WHAT IF... a K-pop idol member that I'm reacting to suddenly appears in front of me...?đČ
We once again brought together our guests who reacted to Blackswan on our previous "[Blackswan] Can Koreans find NON-Korean members in a K-pop group?" video!!
!But this time! Not knowing who's waiting for them on setđ€«đ€«
What would be their reaction when they meet Fatou in real life?
If you're curious, check the video out!!đđđđ

It was so unforgettable experience to me! I was touched by Fatouâs warm-hearted reaction and now I become a big fan of Blackswan.
Thanks for watching this video!
You danced to Ring Ding Dong so well!
I loved the video
Yeees! Blackswan is amazing!
I hope their next comeback to be really successful, they are debuting 2 new members, itâs going to be cool.
Me too
Trust me emma gonna roast three of you! Am a fan of Korean culture from India đđ»ââïž but at the same time emma obsessed with roasting too! I might soon end up debuting as a roaster on CZcams and three of you gonna be the part of my content đœđ€Č
Her face when they compared her to Jessie I can't đ
I came back several times to see her face. Very funny the facial expression she did.
I made the same face! đ
đ ikr đ
I would've done the same
Time stamp please lol
Fatou having a lot of patience pt 2
I swear this comment section needs to stop being so accurate caz I can't like everything.
Ong sheâs much better than me lol
Iâm really glad they made this ep. Iâm not sure if they really meant what they said or not but at least they were all able to be in the same room and talk and see how she really is instead of judging her by her skin color and stereotype placed on black people.
Agreed.
Agree!đŻ
Yess
100% agree
True
they get to meet fatou for free.. iâm so jealous âčïž
Sameeeeđ
Me too!đ
Ikr!!!! Can a REAL fan actually meet her lol
They don't even deserve to meet her smh
Nahhh
You notice that the stereotype is still there when he compares Fatou to Jessi. The two have different personalities.
i canât believe they didnât apologise to her for those comments. even just an âiâm sorry i shouldnât have assumed you were like this and thatâ instead they were just trying to explain themselves cus she was in the room. comparing her to jessi even though they are not similar in any single way, and saying she probably got stared at cus sheâs pretty isnât the complement they think it is, itâs dismissive. but this is a step forward at least. sorry fatou we luv u!!
Exactly man! I was thinking the same! One of the guy said that "We said many things while watching your video, hope you'll try to understand us and fatou simply nodded with a smile but honestly if I would be in her place , I would say a big "NO" right on their face! Why tf they wants her to be considerate for their stereotypical beliefs! Don't you think you guys should be considerate of your fu*king mentality đ§đ»ââïž
I agree but I genuinely think they didn't realise the harm behind what they said. They did try to brush it off quite a lot though, I think Fatou dealt with it quite well. People obviously aren't going to admit what they've done wrong if they aren't entirely sure and I feel like Fatou explained to them quite well. Korea is still a very closed country and a lot of things are normalised because they're never shown to be an issue, and Fatou explained that quite well and tackled the stereotypes without antagonizing them for something they may have not known and honestly probably would have taken less of what she was saying on board if she did
@@arianafernandes1497 because if you disregard people who are trying to learn, they will never grow. She doesn't have to understand why they said those things, but it's good she was explaining to them why stereotypes are bad and to think more critically. These people have now learned not to stereotype certain people because they were able to learn.
She's so patient, i guess she's getted used to it sice she live in Korea, and in my experience as Hispanic with Koreans, most of them just don't know anything about respect other cultures, and don't know anything about other cultures tbh just stereotypes, they can be so rude and not understand why they're wrong, i think it's their culture what it's not right developed
@@GmmBeast they didnât learn anything lol did you watch the video
I'm glad that this channel did not just brush the whole situation of their first video off but actually took a moment to try to understand Fatou and to break stereotypes about black women. Thank you for sharing your platform with Fatou
They did brush off the whole situation tho and those Koreans were trying to cover up what they said because she was there letâs stop lying to ourselves
@@itzysarah9835
exactly lmaooo
@@itzysarah9835 đčđčđč
@@itzysarah9835 yup I can smell the cap from lightyears away
I'm glad that fatou is breaking stereotypes on that kpop idols should not be black or non korean. She's proving many people wrong with this, love her for that
Lol it seems like they were back tracking their views instead of making it a learning experience ...She was graceful
I think that type of growth is a process. Perceptions don't just vanish when you've been socialized into seeing things a certain way. This was a good start.
If they compare her to Jessi one more time..
Lol
Exactly when jessi style is from black woman
This is proof Jessi is a cultural appropiator and a racist
When Jessi is full East-Asian Korean on both sides of her family! That woman has been blackfishing so long most people don't even realise she's just pretending. đ€ŠđŸââïž
@@Aniram789 jessi is naturally tanned lmao, she aint blackfishing
I lost it at them comparing her to Jessi. They haven't learnt anything.
I mean like she canât be rude to them but this video is kinda BS đ they went from backtracking what they said to invalidating her experiences to âwe were just jokingâ đ you canât change ur biases if you canât admit you have them. Itâs nice that People are willing to come to the table but dang.
Exactly. They donât seem to really care about what they said. How can you make such rude comments and just brush them off as âjokesâ?
I know!! I wish they would show them the original video of her reacting to what they said. Because theyâve theyâd get to heew what she said when they werenât in front of her, and they need to hear that. itâs got to be Incredibly tough for her to be given the job of correcting Koreans and their stereotypes about black people, like sheâs just a girl, an idol, itâs not even her job to do that
When did they say it was a joke?
just shvt up and talk abt AAPI first..most offenders are Black
I like to see Fatou destroy all stereotypes. Black people are able to sing too. It's true that best rapper are black people but they are able to sing too. And 2 much people think black women is only sexy but it's completely false. Thank Fatou for your impact â€â€â€â€đđđđ
@peace rap originated from black communities in america so obviously for some black ppl itâs natural to them, but ofc not everyone
I hate when non-black people do this. This isn't just a Korean thing but others also completely dismiss what you've went through and why. She got stared at because she was black not because she was pretty. Shes getting on my nerves. A white man kept starring at me. I mentioned it to my "friend" who's a polynesian woman and she said the same thing. He had a confederate flag on his hat....
EXACTLY that comment pissed me off
People can also stare at you if youâre pretty too. Itâs a mixture of both.
She actually said people stared at u cause u are beautiful not blacks u guys are teaching people not to be stereotypical but u are been one now
i think they couldâve just been suggesting another reason as well. Korea has a significantly lower amount of black people than the majority of other countries, so itâs understandable why black people peak the interest of pedestrians there
I was expecting them to apologize for the racial stereotyping they did to Fatou
Me too but Iâm not surprised
Even if itâs stereotyping literally everything they said about her was true except the one with comparing her with Jessie that was weird af
@@90sflower95 it doesnât matter if itâs true about HER letâs be real they stereotype basically any black person they see when she first walked in the guy literally said âI got a little swag in meâ when all she did was wave lmaoo
@peace what does that have to do with these people stereotyping her đđ yâall pull anything out the ass what does the stop Asian hate movement have to do with this video
@@ayannadaws8480 did u even read my comment properly
I just wish they talked more about the stereotypes, it was just like a brief talk
Yeah it was kind of pointless
@@shenhe1928 tbh yep
I was thinking they would go more in depth about the stereotypes part but this was still a great video.
I really love fatou, she's really well spoken and calm so I do hope something came out of their conversation.
The guy on the right was kind of annoying to me, and sometimes just like fatou said, it looked like they were just great talkers. The other two looked more genuine and it seems they were really trying to understand her.
I dont really know what to say but after the first reaction that video just felt good to watch.
I found this man in a light blue shirt inconvenient, and he didnât act politely.
( the guy on the far right) He was kinda pissing me off and being over bearing with trying to copy her and trying be " cool" but idk it seemed like he was patronizing her and I could feel it through the screen
She's just amazing every time I see herđ
Sheâs pretty thatâs a fact but they were staring because sheâs Black letâs not get it twisted! Korea isnât the kindest to foreigners especially if dark skinned
@LUNARIS still rude
Thatâs why Fatou brushed off their fake compliments đ
@@bbbbbbbbbb0 exactly!!! They were trying to excuse their ignorance and sounds like they haven't really educated themselves and are making excuses due to the comments they received
@LUNARIS yes but I'm sure they have access to the internet and watch movies with Black people
@LUNARIS ok and? i have family members who had never seen any ppl who werenât somali before coming to countries like the UK, US, Canada etc and they were shocked but learned not to stare and make ppl feel uncomfortable. why is it always excuses with yâall
11 minutes of korean people gaslighting a black woman about the prejudice and harmful stereotypes they said about her...
Isn't this a bit much...?
@@aribloomfield4527 no, itâs a daily experience for many black ppl so they know when they see it. they didnât apologise, just tried to explain what they were saying instead of seeing how it may make her feel uncomfortable
@@angel127_ COMPLETELY AGREE
Korea is one if the world's most homogeneous society on earth.im sure their intent isn't to harm.
Fatou we love you Queenâ€đ I can't wait for blackswan's next comeback it will be awesome.
Not to mention they added two talentful, hardworking, strikingly gorgeous members, I really can't waittt
@@homeland1128 me too
@@homeland1128 right! ahhhh iâm so here for it!
this video genuinely disgusted me, being a black girl myself I relate to how people always expect you to be "hip, cool, rebellious, and disrespectful". Everybody acting like this video is solving all of the racism and stereotyping that is still in the video clearly seen. Fatou gave her intro as they were all sitting down and then immediately began to call her cool and compare her to Jessi, JESSI đ€Šđżââïž the woman that steal from black culture, black women, and made the infamous line- "diamonds blue like a CRIP" so we can add glorifying gang culture to the list as well. These people will compare a woman saying hello with a smile to Jessi who perpetuates things about black people as it is obvious she wants to be black đ€·đżââïž and the thing that angered me the most is how Fatou had an entire interview explaining how you should stereotype black people as cool and hip because we're just like any other person, we aren't clones with the same personality. Yet they did it here.
I 100% agree. Going into this, I was hoping for every stereotype they thought & said in the last video to fully be addressed and discussed in detail, and for them to learn/educate themselves on why everything they mentioned before was so fucked up. However, in the end this video was pretty disappointing. The moment they mentioned jessi I couldnât help but roll my eyes.. I love fatou though, and I hope as time goes on, as an idol sheâll continue to educate those with such gross mindsets and prove them wrong.đ
I agree with you but honestly I feel like this enough for Fatou and for us black women in general. Itâs mentally draining enough that we have to do stuff like this. But I do hope that they gained something and Iâm glad that the channel actually took time to use their platform to address this issue rather than delete the original reaction vid and brush it aside.
Yup. Agreed
You all need to chill. No one said this one video would solve racism in korea. Just view this as another gig for her mehn. Like the video and keep it pushing, that's what Fatou would want yall to do instead of these essays.
@@datbiii2676 so your mad that I'm pointing out the blatant stereotyping in this video đ€ good to knw
The stereotypes of black ppl in Korea is a good reason why there should be more than eastern Asians in Korean media. They should be more diverse. Ppl hate on America alot but itâs actually one of the most diverse countries and has the most diverse celebrities. And although a lot of these racist stereotypes do come from white American media now in 2022 we have much more representation for black ppl in the states thatâs breaking those stereotypes. Thatâs why Kpop needs to be more than just Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai ppl. Ppl like fatou are very important in K-media. And Fatou doesnât choose to be or probably doesnât want to be that advocate for black ppl or mixed babies in Korea. But she can unintentionally break stereotypes just by being herself
Agreed. This comment should be more noticeable and pinned.
I dont like the implications that she is not bubbly or feminine
Iâm glad we can all agree in these comments that this definitely wasnât itâŠ. Like at all. There was no accountability taken, no apologies and a whole lot of dismissiveness. You can tell Fatou was being polite and nice cause if she actually spoke up on this and told them how she felt theyâd label her further as âtoughâ, âaggressiveâ and so on.
The idea to have the segment where they address their stereotypical and Iâm gonna say racist comments was a smart one and I thought itâd be very educational but the execution and their response was absolutely terrible. And the editing style and âhappyâ music as youâre addressing this was also very distasteful and really downplayed the situation. They learned nothing from this and even watching themselves back saying those ignorant comments, they had a smile on their face.
I donât care to hear the comments of âthey smiled cause their nervous/embarrassedâ cause I canât image how Fatou felt. No oneâs taking her feelings into consideration and she felt more uncomfortable in that room than any of them. Im also done with the âthey didnât mean any harm/they didnât know any better đ„șâ narrative either. Cause at the end of the day the internet exist, they can do research and they probably havenât encountered many black ppl in their life so I donât even know why theyâd have this perceived notion in the first place.
And yes we can say itâs from films but I myself am black and growing up as a kid all I saw were Asian fighting films and yes I had a perceived notion but as soon as I got access to the internet (as a kid turning into teen) I learned for myself. And I found out and educated myself about my ignorance and what stereotypes are.
We are in the year 2022 we need to stop excusing this behavior and the âthey didnât know any betterâ cause its definitely coming from racist talk in the household/from elders, their school and taking what they see from movies and running with it. When I thought we could all have the common sense not to take what we see in movies and think itâs real. Definitely says a lot about the film industry and how they portray black ppl tho, thatâs another conversation.
Iâm fed up and itâs tiring, and if I feel like that just as a fan then I cannot IMAGINE whatâs going on with Fatou rn. And how much discrimination and ppl with negative/racist perceived notions that shes encounter by being in this industry.
Do better PopKorn.
They did not apologize for the comments they made , invalidated her experiences and still used stereotypes against her , even people in the comments did that . Also never compare her to Jessi , they are different in their own ways . This video was like a 5/10 because I don't really know how to feel about it. P.S.I'm black so I have a right to have an opinion about this just like the people trying to justify the ''Jessi ''comment .
WHY DID THE GUY BUST OUT INTO JESSIđđ
God theyâre pissing me off..they arenât even trying to learn theyâre just back tracking so they arenât embarrassed or something and that girl said âUsually members like that are more feminine and cuteâ and she goes âThats just how I thinkâ indirectly saying shes not those things and they didnât even apologize for what they saidâčïžBut thanks for trying to discuss these at least đ
The guy on the right was soo weird and was giving bad vibes.
I don't think he and the girl were respectful in anyway. Example: compering her to jessi. That's still stereotyping.
Not once did they apologise for the things said in the previous video
I'm sorry but I did not like this at all
Fatou as always with her bright uplifting happy-vibe personality.
Their reaction after meeting her is superb .
More of this from Fatou and Blackswan please
So they got to meet her... Ok.. that's cool, I'm very happy for them đand not jealous at all, not even a bitđđđ
No I love seeing Fatou in videos like this. They're fun, bring more exposure to Blackswan and she seems so relaxed teaching ppl to unlearn stereotypes about Black ppl. GO, FATOU!!!!
Idk what this was but itâs not what I expected. They couldâve watched her video calling out their stereotypical comments. I also wouldâve liked to see them apologize to her for their small minded views.
When they compared her to Jessi I really cringed , Jessi a cultural vulture woman who has copied black woman style and even stereotype who is very loud and aggressive and inappropriate to someone like fatou who is very shy and intelligent and is very quiet is so weird for me
Yeah, Fatou found that comparison cringe too. And so did I.
I agree but each of them have their amazing great unique personalities and style
You just completely making fun of Jessiâs personality while trying to uplift another woman is disgusting. Jessi and Fatou shouldnât have been compared bc they arenât the same at all. But you feeling like you can bash Jessi because of that is nasty
@@bigfoodstyle5531 exactly. It's ok to not like Jessi but to completely degrade and insult her in the same breath as uplifting another woman is just wrong. Fatou and Jessi are way too different to be compared
@@skiyline idgaf about jessi, if she wants to trash us black women then why canât we do the same?
eh this video was a bit too bright for something that couldâve been a real learning moment, esp when they compared Jessi to Fatou đ.
Them comparing her to jessi weirded me out
Iâm glad she educated them too during this video
4:49 not jessiđ
Fatou has a incredible presenceđ€©
Iâm so glad they came back with a follow up video so that Fatou could explain her responses, and listen to the questions and help explain some of these stereotypes. Fatou does have a air of confidence about herself and she was very humble and understanding. Iâm appreciating the love that they showed her! Thank you Be Unique, Saranghae Black Swan!
Boo tomato tomato đ for the comparison to Jessi. Just dont have her on this channel if you're going to exploit her for views.
They were trying so hard to be nice to herđ§đ»ââïž.
And that girl....she was trying her level best to make her fake compliments sound real!
I'm thankful for this channel for allowing fatou to be part of this content but what I'm getting from this content is these people didn't change their ideologies. They lost me when they compared her to Jessi and we all know why these comparisons are being made. Jessi constantly mocks black women's mannerisms and lingo. I wish they would've dealt deeper with the topic but then again it's not Fatou's responsibility to educate Koreans.
This was very calm and entertaining and also educative. I really loved their interactions and I had a smile on my face throughout lol
The girl in the middle looked nervous when Fatou said she watched their reactions bcz she was on some racist bs đ. Notice how all the videos was of her? They didn't even try to apologize seeing that they've met her and she's not the stereotype they thought she was. Just went and made it worse by comparing her to Jessi đ¶
..... really.... Jessi? Alrighty
I had the same reactions as Fatou-nim when watching the previous episode. This was conversation that was needed to be had. Thank you.
The most accurate thing they said was when the girl mentioned still being stuck in stereotypes. There is still a long way to go. I'm glad Fatou has the grace and patience to deal with all this and still stay positive.
I want to be here so bad to talk with her đ
I am a black teen teaching myself Korean so I can travel there. I've always been obsessed with language and culture and hope I can study the language in South Korea one day. I've also had the dream to become a black K-pop artist ever since I started listening to k-pop around the age 9. I never thought it would be possible since I'm not Korean nor do I live there. But once I heard about Fatou and other k-pop idols who aren't Korean, I've been making plans to travel to Korea to learn the language, take dance classes, and to practice singing. I believe if you really want something in life you can achieve it, so I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone to achieve something I really want in life. Chase after you dreams every and remember to stay positive!
good luck, â€it wonât be easy
Fatou shouldn't have to constantly validate her right to exist. She shouldn't be this posterboard for "solving" prejudice against black women in the kpop industry. She should be able to just EXIST like almost every single kpop idol. instead of fighting for herself and her right to be there. She is gracefully and patiently enduring these things. She is immensely still strong, special and unique and shouldn't come with a warning label.
The guy was so animated
The way they switched all the way the fuck up face up faceđ€
