The stock turret and 100mm is actually the ideal setup. Better turret armor that can actually bounce your own gold rounds minus on the smaller cupola is great.
Stock turret, 100mm, reverse side scrape to the left will actually make the armor work with 90mm sides, I've bounced T95s and T30s this way
This is how I played the tank. Aim time is insufferable but if you get lucky you can make it work
This. Also, the stock turret is lighter so you get slightly better power to weight.
This tank is almost like a IQ test, if you see anyone with the "top" turret, like QB here, you might be able to infer that thy didn't read the little characters explaining what scam it is.
At least this tank is a good transition after the trash that is the AMX M4 45, a little better but still flawed.
@@sylvercloud6631 Unfortunately, while the stock turret is more "comfortable" to play, it is NOT the most competitive way to play the tank. Given how bad the rest of the tank is, the alpha damage is a must-have on the vehicle. I 100% marked the tank and I tried all the combos. The stock turret with 100mm is the second best, but it's still not as competitive as the top turret with the 120mm is, even if it's more comfortable.
So despite your cocky, arrogant comment, you're still wrong.

I would unironically play this tank with the 100mm and the stock turret, as this is a way smaller target AND has better armor. you just have to sacrafise like 10m view range which honestly both arent good at so I'd say its a good deal

And yes bad tanks can easily give u an ace mastery, I was also playing with my A-44 where i got an ace tanker for delivering 3K damage with a little assistance to my teammates
Couple years ago A-44 and Ob 430-2 were very good tanks to sidescrap. Strong sides, turret at the back, but some day WG destroyed them completely by making snipers from them.
I still love my A44. Sort of play it like a brawler. Up front, punchy gun, great mobility, flexible turret.
A44 is one of the better tier 7 medium tanks.

I think that VK 45.02 A deserves it's own video. I have it in my garage and still play it from time to time. It feels bizzare looking at the opponents I'm facing that are somehow on the same tier as me :p

I used the stock turret and the 100mm on the 65t and it was basically a discount Liberte, which is workable against lower tiered opponents. I somehow finished with a 54% WR.
The TVP VTU, on the other hand, was painful regardless of the matchmaking. I don't miss playing the AMX 65t, but in my opinion the TVP is worse.
The saving grace is that tier 9s are excellent; the AMX M4 51 and the Skoda T50 are among the strongest tanks in their tier.
Been playing with the TVP and I agree with you completely ! 6 degrees of gun depression. No armor but worse you aren't even that fast. The gun is reasonably accurate but thats about it. Penetration is low and if you use the 100mm gun your gun handling is horrendous. Can't wait for the Skoda T50.

@@lifeinjersey9846 Yes the T34/100 was another dog but the gun at least packed a punch at t7. Most mediums at t7 have low alpha and low pen so 170 pen and 240 alpha was quite good at t7. So while it wasn't great I could grind through pretty well. But the TVP... I just don't know how to make it work. I am considering using the 100mm gun but its penetration is just tragic.
Panther 8,8 deserves some playtime. It has one of the wors win rates in tier 8 but I believe that since the buff it is an absolute powerhouse if played correctly
Have one, still meh tank. The alpha buff makes it fire a bit slower, although it increase the dpm by slight bit. In my opinion panther 88 needs mobility buff more than fire power, could be increase in engine horsepower hence increasing acceleration and traverse and increasing power to weight ratio, or top speed to 50 km/h

@@diegozinedine514 The fire rate of the Panther 8.8. stayed the same. It was a huge dpm buff. Has most of any tier 8 medium now.
I love playing my underdogs, cuz of that feeling when you outperform both teams is just so unique.
Doing well in bad tanks feels so much better than doing excellent in good tanks.

truly a memorable experience
I just about finished the grind through it with a 56% winrate, not using any blueprints and only using a tiny bit of free experience.
The funny part for me was finding out that the stock gun is... actually probably the best gun? The top gun has absolutely atrocious dpm, so you don't want to get into a lategame situation with it, while the 100mm is really, really bad at long range engagements but you lack the armor to take it close. The 90mm has okay gun handling, managable pen, okay dpm and - most importantly - okay gunhandling compared to the other two guns. Yes, the alpha is terrible, but you can at least provide servicable supporting fire with it without having the standard "i can't freaking hit anything even fully aimed" 100mm experience.
Apart from all that, I think that this was by far the least enjoyable tank I have played in a long time. The tank just has so many bad things about it that even if you play it to its meager "strengths", it feels like you are actively self sabotaging. The rare games where you get to do something good don't even come close to making up for the games where you actually don't get to play the game.
And remember: this tank used to be WORSE. SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE. Even after the arty nerfs, you regularly get annihilated because your weakly armored hull is GIGANTIC. Can't imagine how bad is must have been before those nerfs.
How would I fix the tank? Well, either make it faster (so it can actually hide its hull somewhere without getting transformed into swiss cheese on the way to its destination) or give it the TOG treatment and give it an enourmous HP pool. Both would go a long, long way to making it BEARABLE.
Finally, this is the only tank I've ever played where upgrading the turret felt like downgrading the tank. You probably need to do it because of the significant viewrange boost, but it still doesn't feel GOOD and I often thought about foregoing that boost and reinstalling the base turret. Yep, it's THAT bad.
Final verdict? If you're not a masochist like me, skip the tank. Seriously. It was not worth it. Just blueprint the tier 9.

Both the TVP VTU and the AMX 65t are the 2 worst Tier 8 tanks, with the lowest marking requirements of any Tier 8's... But the AMX 65t does have slightly lower requirements than the TVP, so technically the AMX 65t is THE worst Tier 8.

I feel like you could stick this tank at tier 7 and it would just be alright. This thing is worse than an fcm 50 t in almost every way, and the fcm 50 t get preferential matchmaking and is OK
I'm playing this tank now. It essentially IS a tier 7 tank. I have to play it as a -1 tier at tier 8+ games.

I have this tank since maybe a year or sth in my garage. Still 0% win ratio. 0 times did my team manage to somehow carry a single win with me in the match

I found this tank a bit more bearable playing hull down with the stock turret and the 100mm, one of the few vehicles where the stock turret is the better choice, lower dpm and hp aside
I'm mid grind on this tank and used blueprints for the first time ever to decrease the amount I have to play this to get to the next tank.

This isn't a joke. The stock turret has better defence, because it is way smaller and thinner with a smaller weakspot. Also it has 2° more gundepression.
The only downsides are the view range of 350m, that's 20m less than the "good" turret, slightly less dpm (-100) and more aimtime (0.19s).
You are trading dmp and aimtime for extremely better turret defence and 2° of gundepression. One of the most important things in WoT are turret defence and gundepression so I think the stock turret is the way to go.
My most played tank is the Rheinmetall Panzerwagen. I like playing the Panther 8.8 and the Jagdtiger 8.8 too. I am a masochist. But this one, even I skipped it.

I am using the stock turret. It has a much smaller weakpoint on top. The downside is that you would only get 350m of view range, and a slightly lower DPM. But still I think it's better than the upgraded turret.
I tried grinding up the French heavy tech tree, and got to this tank and stopped. I either had to use a massive amount of free XP or play through loss after loss.
I sold this tank few months ago, I can't compete here in the Asian server where most of the Tier 8 tanks in the match making are premium tanks. There was this game where there's only 3 of us out of 30 who brought tier 8 tech tree tanks in the game and this type of games happens a lot
Perhaps do a review on the Jagpanzer IV? I don't see a lot of guides about it.
It's pretty good, especially if you know how bushes work.
I first thought this tank was the turtle before the turtle went in the game, but after you learn how to equipped it, it s breezy to play with for tier ix in the tree

I remember playing the Caernarvon, when the top gun was the 84mm 20-pdr gun. It could not overmatch the armor of the high tier Swedish TDs, so it had to use HE against them-- 84mm HE. With some angling by the target, it could not pen the sides of a VK100.01, let alone the front. This was back in the bad old days when the T-54ltwt was a tier VIII light tank. My stock Caernarvon, with its 17-pdr gun was face-hugged by a T-54ltwt, and, to my horror, in every way that mattered in that close engagement, that light tank was better than my heavy tank. It had a bigger gun, with more penetration, mounted in a turret with much thicker armor. I managed an average of a little over 900 damage a match, and still earned the first Mark of Excellence. The Caernarvon was bad in tier VIII matches. In tier X matches, it was little more than a target.
In my dreams, WG apologizes to everyone who ground out the Caernarvon in that environment with "Lord Caernarvon's Revenge", which replaces the turret with the turret of the Centurion Action X, the gun with the 105mm L7 gun, and the Meteor engine with a flight rated Merlin.
3 marking this was one of the worst experiences I may have ever endured.

The stock turret is my way to go on this tank. The turret has massive armour and a small weak spot that you can hide easily. The view range isn't really that bad because it's a heavy tank and its view range is going to be tragic either way.
Please make a video with the 110 as well. It was an OK tank 5 years ago, but I can't imagine how much it's been powercrept since.
Ive had this tank since it was released, and to this day i´ve only researched the tracks :D I play like one game per several months and then i need to mentally recover.
This tank needs the pike nose removed and give it 100mm on the upper and 90 on the lower plate , along with turret armor capable of bouncing its own tier and higher tier opponents. Keep everything else the same as a balance factor because the line is already focused on the Armour and the pretty good gun.
it still, for some reason, bothers me when QB complains about the view range of heavys (or TD's) these days...
For me it is still the moment they killed one of the best rock paper scissor elements this game had.. that and corridor shijt maps.

If ever there was a tank that should have been a Premium vehicle, it’s this one. The AMX M4 mle. 48 Liberte is the canonical Tier 8 for this line.

yeah the 50 100 has suffered from powercreep over the many years its been in the game now.
sure you can burst ... but the pen vs the new tanks is a joke and the new tanks fuck you up before you even can empty a clip.
This is one of those tanks where stock is not a bad option. Stock turret is the same as on the premium, so is the gun it can use. It bounced more for me at least, and I took that over more HP and more ROF. Much as I did on the TVP with more gun depression that made it work better on the stock turret and 88.
I’m free to play and the first line I went for was the French armored heavies and my oh my I thought I was bad at the game when I got to tier 8. But I got though it and I’m loven the tier 9

To be truthful the 100mm, with the stock turret combo is one of the better loadouts on the tank, but everyone forgets that your gun handling and damage output becomes nigh nonexistant.
A legitimately decent loadout is actually the stock 90mm with the stock turret. You get better gun depression than with the top turret, better armor, and also actually can boast decent handling and reload speeds at the cost of low alpha and relatively low penetration for a tier 8 heavy.
If you're going to use the top turret. use the 120mm, it's not a great gun, but it's genuinely decently solid, and works very well for peekaboom. You're already sacrificing so much to use the top turret, you may as well use the top gun.
I like to see more of these 'bad tank' games like playing a stoke Churchill or t1 heavy or kv4 with the old version of 122mm gun with 175mm pen at t8 :D

See your AMX 65t and raise you TVP VTU. No armour. No gun depression. No mobility. No gun handling. But the tier 9 Skoda 50t is a gem.
When the AMX was introduced for the first time, I hated so much the unfair burst damage of the French autoloaders (I still hate them and think they should be Thanos snapped) that the only French tech tree I accepted was the HT line (I didn't want the "ez win" MTs or the "bullshit scout" LTs line), and to avoid the auto I chose the other line. When I had enough losing every time because of the autoloaders, I decided to get only 1, so I looked the AMX 65t and I thought it had the auto because of the name; the moment I found out that it hadn't an auto gun and it was the worst tank in the French HTs line, I switched to the AMX 50 100 and I'm waiting to play with that tank.
You should use the first turret which is the same as the AMX m4 49 premium tank

I played it before the new equipment came along. I would say, with the stock turret its playable otherwise its just painful.
Stock KV-4 makes me cry everytime
Kv4 is dayum near unplayable, I sold it years ago because of how trash it is even fully upgraded
@@KillerSniper142 Upgraded KV-4 is a beast, my favourit T8 tank. Yes, it's slow and have poor depression but you can have 1970 HP, 6,8s reload with 289 mm of penetration (2,7k dpm+) and good armour. What do you need more for a heavy tank?

I actually enjoyed the 65t, I had way worse experiences with TVP VTU and Object 416

Used upgraded turret and 120mm gun and it wasn't certainly fun tank to play, but somehow managed to 3 mark it while grinding the t9. Overall not the most terrible tank (atleast for me/my playstyle)
Funny thing is i can honestly say i enjoyed it more than is3 as an example XD
TBH I didn't think it was a bad as I expected though I used the stock turret and smaller gun. I was glad enough to sell it but I was expecting worse.

I actually found it amazing stock, aswell as fully upgraded when I had it.
Idk why but I felt like it was very good, might have been rngjesus but I felt like I was very dominating at tier 8 in most of my matches and average in tier 9

I have played this tank with 120 mm gun. For me, only reason to take it over amx 100, is that gun. Plus, because you have so bad armor, you also have to trade HP, for which 120 is better. Even soviet IS with 175 mm pen, can with np pen your upper plate armor on hull.
Also, I would put Vk auf A as one of the worst tier 9, alone with that tank and O-HO.
That ace tanker badge is not a saving grace, it is a solatium.
People said the tiger 2 was useless back in the day before it got buffed. But i liked it and managed to get great results with it anyway so dont assume the worst before you have tried it
TVP VTU and CS tier 8 are the worst t8 tanks.
CS53 is fine. T34 is even worse than AMX.

In my opinion the TVP VTU is worse. No gun dep, no armor and no pen. But its just my opinion.

In my experience, win rate on a tank often depends on when you play it.
I had 2,5k dpg on the 103b (not great, but not terrible imo) and had a 34% win rate. On the other hand, when playing the amx 13 105 (which I aaaaabsolutely suck in) I am currently on 62% win rate.
I think the small sample size on particular tanks lead to drastical changes in the win rate. Without at least 150 battles you can't really tell if you are good in a tank or not. Just one good streak can change the average winrate on a Single tank.

The liberte should have been the tier 8. It's a great mix of the m4 45 and the tier 9 monster.

play it with stock turret and it actually has turret armor without the huge tumor, and besides its a smaller target
I would argue o-ho is just as bad a tank its huge, slow, bad dpm and pentration on both top 100mm and derp gun, blind like the amx 65t and has armor that everyone can pen at same tier or higher with standard ammo. And did I forget to mention that if tanks face hug or go up to the side of it, it cannot depress its gun low enough to shoot them.
Just for insult to injury, Wargaming should put the original stock ARL 44 turret on this thing.

Bought that mf tank since its release to replace AMX 50 100. Still regrets till this day. Back then, blueprint didn't exist yet, so the only grace to the monster tier 9 are enormous free exp and tremendous amount of gold.
That tank is unfixable, it needs more than holy water to cure its horrendous design and stats.
I just got done with this tank playing it stock and progressed to the tier 9 a week ago. One of the most miserable experiences of my life. Went from 40% win rate in the 65t to over 60% in the m4 51 lmao

It's terrible. I got bloody 33% WR on mine and while I'm no unicorn, I'm not bad, either. The tanks is every bit as horrible as QB says.
I actually like this tank tbh, you just use the stock turret for extra depression with magical bounce, equipped with the 232 mm pen gun and if you're daring you can try to reverse side scrape. Just don't use the upgraded turret, it just looks uglier and have that big capolla to be shot at.
I still don't understand why he uses the 'upgraded' turret on this tank. It's armour is worse, it has 7 degrees worse gun elevation and 2 degrees worse gun depression. All you get is 100 dpm, 20m view range, 100hp and .2 seconds aim time. It's far less painful to play with the stock turret but he always argues it's worse for some reason.
You have to use the upgraded turret to be competitive. The view range is beyond abysmal with the stock turret, you lose DPM and HP... And worst of all, you lose access to the 120mm gun. I tried all the combinations when I did the 100% mark on the AMX 65t, and the stock turret just isn't worth it. You need to have access to the 120mm to be even slightly competitive with the tank. Plus the tank's characteristics are so bad that you can't afford to run Optics on the tank, so having 350m base view range is just putting yourself at a massive disadvantage.
You can actually do the same thing with the TVP VTU, you use the stock turret to get 8 degrees of gun depression along with the tier 8 8,8 mm gun, and it pretty much change how you play the tank because your basically now playing a glass cannon medium tank

Furthermore you are saying that you lose hp. That's wrong! Both have 1050hp.
And than you are telling us that you lose dpm, but at the same time you want to play with the high alpha dmg gun THAT HAS EVEN LESS DPM.
Stock turret with tier 8 gun: 1915 dpm
Big turret with tier 8 gun: 2018 dpm (+103)
Big turret with tier 9 gun: 1813 dpm (-102)
So in conclusion: Yes 350m is shit, but you contradict yourself!

the power to weight shouldnt be the issue, same engine as amx 50 120 but its the hidden statistics are ruining it, i say this is on par with the mobility of old löwe is someone else remembers how slow it used to be
