Some characters I missed:
The Mayor- idk how I missed her, she’d probably be mid-high b tier
Al Gore- he definitely would have made sense to include but I forgot, low A tier
Mickey Mouse- probably high B tier
I knowingly didn’t include dogpoo because he doesn’t have much prominence
Could you explain why Pip is terrible?
@@DerpDerp3001 he just is
Mickey is amazing
You also missed Skylar and his band. You briefly mentioned him as “Shelly’s boyfriend” in “Cat Orgy”, but they reappeared in “Timmy 2000” with Timmy being brought in as their frontman and the band being renamed “Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld”
Small tidbit too, but Karen McCormick first appeared as a small, non-speaking role in “Best Friends Forever”, where she is shown going to an amusement park with her brothers Kenny and Kevin
@@DerpDerp3001 bc he sucks and he is boring he was just a punch bag like butters but he is much worse

RIP Isaac Hayes, Chef was incredible, we deserved more episodes and scientology killed him
That damn Super Adventure Club always ruining people.
On August 10, 2008, 10 days before his 66th birthday, Hayes was found unresponsive in his home, just east of Memphis, as reported by the Shelby County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office. A Shelby County Sheriff's deputy and an ambulance from Rural Metro responded to his home after three family members found his body on the floor next to a still-operating treadmill. Hayes was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08 pm. The cause of death was not immediately clear, although the area medical examiners later listed a recurrence of stroke as the cause of death.
-wikipedia
@@ANDROLOMA is this supposed to be an "uhm acktually" moment or smth? I will always believe Scientology was a major factor in Hayes' death, even if it wasn't direct.
@@BigSexyBlackMans Scientology doesn't cause strokes, despite how fervently you may desire such fiction. Correlation doesn't equal causation, unless you deny logic like most religious fanatics do.
@@BigSexyBlackMans oh his son came out and even said it was scientologists who made him quit the show, so I agree that scientology had something to do with it

Yeah but he likes john alway
Kenny is definitively my number 1. He's absolutely hilarious with everything he says (if you understand him) and I love the running gag where he dies. But, the main thing is the heart he has. I love the relationship he has with his little sister, and I swear I nearly cried at the end The City Part Of Town episode, where it was revealed he spent all the money he made from working to buy his sister a doll. I absolutely love his character.
Nah Cartman > Kenny
@@RealitaetsverweigererDerAmpel Look hes funny, but kenny's unexpected death and being at the edge of your seat waiting for him to die is wayy better. [In my opinion]
@@nicetrystealingmyinfo69420 are you 10?
I think its Kinda Sad, that hes Not that important Anymore
@@Klo-papier yea, I'm very sad, I love Kenny
Cartman Is one of, if not the greatest fictional character. The fact that they’ve kept him so good for 25 years consistently is wonderful.
I think that is why he is one of my favorite cartoon characters in general. He is a really consistent character. He's terrible and we just can't help but love it. He's the trainwreck we all love to see
Cartman was a character who slowly transitioned to the series antagonist. You get to see how bullying made him pure evil.
I would love to see an interaction between him and Roger the alien. I see so many similarities between the two it would be entertaining.
@@ultragare Cartman would destroy Roger.
The thing i love about him is how when a plot is given to him he is always proactive and drives the story, making storys about him almost always rly entertaining.
Not only does Jimmy have a stutter that affects his stand-up timing, but you missed the legs aspect. STAND-UP. He can't stand unassisted.

Bro
he’s the worst one in my opinion. Maybe not the worst but definitely not top 10 at all
@@katiekakes721 whoosh
I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but pip is actually one of my favourite characters.
Jimbo is also a really good uncle, very caring and emotionally involved in stans life. In Season 25 he acts as a replacement for Cartmans dad so they can beat the teenagers in „help my teenager hates me“
imo bloom should of separated jimbo and ned due to his growth in the later seasons but i still love the placement of them
I think Jimbo and Ned deserve to be a lot higher on the list!
Wish i had an uncle like Jimbo
This is a solid assessment.
Didn't he commit cannibalism in that Cartman's mom part 2 episode?
All time favorite Mr.mackey moment is when cartmen feeds him the cupcake and he just keeps going "oh its bad"
Can somebody get me some paper towels?? m'kay
That episode was wild. I love it
He put a LOT of arbys horsey sauce in those.
"Wow man it's like, you go through life thinking you're an individual m'kay, but we realise we're more than that m'kay, we're just part of one big individual m'kay".
You forgot to mention the hummle episode where Stan and His grandpa take down that one farting lady who was controlling everybody in the old folks home like some sort of Mafia boss, I personally think it's Grandpa Marsh's greatest moment when he beat her with bag full of hummles in the end of the episode and took over as the new boss, It was also the episode that had the best story arc for his character. Just wanted to point that out. I'm pretty sure it was episode 6 of season 21 or 22
"thats how we do shit in the old folks home!" his best line ever 😂
I love how they developed PC principal into a character with more depth than a stereotype.
But one thing you didn’t mention was that his other main personality trait is that he’s a stereotypical frat bro which usually aren’t PC in the real world.
They make these 2 diametrically opposed traits work so well together in a way that isn’t annoying and still funny.
His best moment is beating the crap out of Cartman whilst the latter tries to frame him for raping Butters, but the reason for beating him is using words like "spokesman" and the phrase "capisce"
Funny underrated moment is where all his friends have chicks in their rooms and hes going round room by room 'Have you got your concent forms bruh?' Before his friends have sex
Frat boys usually act like woke and PC, so they can get some l*btard p*ssy 🤣
yeah I think any time you are writing multiple episodes with a character you will have to develop them into a more fleshed out character or you will kill the joke. South Park does a reverse Flanderization where characters begin as one note and then grow into something more fleshed out over time.
Cd😊😊😊😊z😊zzz😊z😊z😊😊X😊😊
The reason I think Cartman is so well written is because he completely shatters my theory on what makes characters unlikeable. My theory is that what makes a character unlikeable isn’t only their terrible actions, but their ability to get away with them. For example, characters like Micah Bell from Red Dead Redemption, or Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter not only commit objectively evil actions, but they are consistently infuriating due to their constant avoidance of consequences or justice. Cartman, however, regularly commits horrible actions and is also rarely punished for them, yet he is still a very likable character. This just stumps me for some reason.
Not only is he rarely punished but he also rarely shows any remorse for his actions
Because when he does get what he deserves its satisfying as fuck. It also helps that a majority of South Park is fucked up
What an interesting thought. I also think what matters a lot is genre. RDR and Harry Potter are serious works (not comedies), so when evil characters do awful things to the characters we like, we feel annoyed and angry, because there are actual consequences within the fictional universe.
On the other hand, South Park being the type of comedy it is, terrible things happen to all of the characters all the time and we're cool with it, because we know everything is going to snap back to normal by the end of the episode with no lasting harm done.
That’s so true
it’s because the characters we see as evil or unlikable are most of the time misunderstood. Cartman, however, is not misunderstood, just pure evil.
"his only real character trait was his urge to die" same
Oh how I would love to have pip back , I liked his backstory how his parents are dead and his sister basically abuses him everyday , I think if the writers didn’t hate him so much he would have potential and be a fun character he’s way underrated
there are many characters that could have an interesting plot in south park, estella, ze mole, rebecca, gregory, damien thorn, satan and many more.
@@Damien_-Thorn christophe would have an interesting appearance for sure, but all of those deserve to be brung back to the show, especially the foreign kids
@@Damien_-ThornDamien would be interesting since cartman is practically see as pure evil
Pip death wasn't really intentional
In my teenage and younger adult years, I found Mr. Stotch to be hilarious. I'm now 26 years old and I cannot comfortably watch an episode where he has a prominent role. His abusive behavior towards Butters stopped being funny and instead became a reminder to me that someone, somewhere, actually treats their kid that way with no humor intended.
I'm also still convinced that Mrs. Stotch is only an abuser because of her relationship with her husband. In the few moments where they do show genuine care, it's most often her.
Bad opinion hes still very funny
Wouldn't that make the whole show unfunny to you then? 🤔
@@serpentsound the rest of the show is so wildly over exaggerated that it makes it less realistic. Mr. Stotch is just a rather realistic depiction of a child abuser
I think it's interesting that a lot Mr. Stotch's negative behaviors and his abuse towards Butters is based on his closeted homosexuality and everything that comes with it. You can tell he resents this part of himself and projects this on his son, leading to abuse
So happy to see Kenny get the high-ranking he deserves. He easily became one of my favourite characters after the Mysterion arc. Him and Butters deserve SO MUCH better than the horrible parents and home lives they have 😢
He’s one of the main characters he’s not like “underrated” lol
They should do more with Kenny in the new seasons
Everybody loves Kenny you NPC
agreed but he is definitely overrated
Kenny is nice and the thing with his sister is really wholesome, but most of the time he’s just horny and dies all the time imo
Butters is the perfect representation of abused children. The kind of abuse that is usually "socially accepted", but, as research has shown, can have devastating effects on development.
This in addition to him still just trying to be a good kid makes him so endearing.
But despite being often abused he tends to be the most happy. It’s very sweet :)
Nah Ike in S tier is wild 💀
Every canadian in the show is S or A
Kenny is definitely my favorite character! Especially seeing his backstory how horrible his parents are but still manages to be so kind to people and be the best brother ever to Karen!!!
Also when everyone is grown up trying to find out how he died in one of the specials he blames his friends for Covid because instead of sticking together their friendship broke apart which shows how deeply he actually cares about his friends.
Out of everyone I’m just drawn to him most!
He’s someone I’d want to be friends with!
Like just makes me want to hug him.
He’s encountered death multiple times and he has to deal with the fact nobody ever remembers.
He even literally told everyone in a mysterion episode and shot himself to prove that he’s telling the truth and not pretending.
He spends his money from working on his sister and even tells her when they are in foster care that he’ll never leave and will always be there watching over her.
Like I honestly get emotional over his whole story.
His story is so tragic and he deserves better.
That’s why he is my #1 character:)))
I would wanna be friends with Kenny but I'm a girl. Instead I would stand within a ten mile radius. Sadly I'm not flat tho. Although if I somehow did manage to end up flat I would travel to the farthest place from Cartman. Even in the real world, if I saw a fat kid dressed up as Cartman I would book a flight to Japan.

The thing with Mephisto and Kevin is that Mephisto is a spoof of the title character from The Island of Dr Moreau, a movie with an infamous production story. Marlon Brando, who played Moreau, reportedly became obsessed with the little person costar who was often seen next to him during film. Him being a spoof of Moreau is the reason Mephisto appears at the Marlon Brando lookalike convention.
I literally laughed just when it was time to rank Mephisto and Kevin.
It’s initially a book, not a movie, actually probably far more known as being a book than being a movie
I love Timmy. I used to work with a kid who has cerebral palsy who looked exactly like Timmy but with glasses. Loved that kid…

massive respect for putting Cartman at 1st. All I knew going in was cartman and randy would be in the top2 and this is the most important ranking decision. Cartman is just so funny. When you go back you realise just how funny he makes the show.
Cartman is literally south park. South park has a great cast and the show would be worse without them, but he's basically the soul of south park that truly defines it
Personally I think Randy is funnier but Cartman is more of a complex character. Which I mean, he's a sociopath. Of course it's not gonna be purely humorous

Butters will always be my number one favorite character. He's so sweet and kind... I see so much of my self in him. I even painted a pair of high tops in his likeness :)
Butters kinnie (same)
I don't love any fictional character the way I love Butters, he's a special creation
the mantequilla episode alone... pure gold
Butters got a huge upgrade in character status. I don't think he was ever Dogpoo level, but he started out to be a B or C nothing character and quickly rose to the ranks of high tier popularity after a few key episodes. I honestly don't know why they did it, but they made him matter. I guess they just wanted another interesting character to be able to shove into an A plot scenario besides the four golden boys. It's also a lot of fun when Cartman and Butters are kind of co-starring in the main plot, especially when they're on relatively the same wavelength of thought. I guess that could go for both if they're avidly working together or diverge in their alliance at some point.
@@CodeguruX dogpoo isn’t a character
16:17 we totally did have a wealth of evidence back in 2006; it was just purposely obfuscated by energy companies
Honestly my favourite character will always be Butters. I always find myself rooting for him and laughing at every scene he's in.
Second would probably be Cartman and third would be Randy. They were both my number ones at different points
I actually grew up 24 blocks away from Casa Bonita. It was part of my childhood, and the south park episode was not my first introduction to it. It should, however, be noted that Mexican Disneyland is a good summary of it.

I would place Stan’s Grandpa in B tier for the fact that he played a HUGE role in the ManBearPig special
He also played a pretty big role in that Hummels episode
And the Cash for Gold Episode
Plus that episode from the first season when he makes Billy try to kill him is so memorable for me
He also played a big role in the contortionist sisters episode when her wooed their grandma. Lol
The thing about Cartman is not only is he an amazing stand-alone character that can be the star of his own episodes, but he brings out the best in every character he interacts with. He brings out the best in Wendy, Butters, Kyle, and Stan. He’s easily my favorite character in the show.
No craaaaaab
The moment you mentioned crab people i started chanting the crab people chant because its an ongoing gag with me and a bunch of my friends so this list made me happy
I will say that Stan protecting whales and dolphins was probably one of the few times he does the right thing for the right reason
I love how Kyle also has diabetes but all the kids ignore it and rip on the other kid instead💀
(kyle's mom confirms this in season 4 episode 6)
I honestly feel kinda bad for Pip just because of how he was treated lmao. He got ripped on because he was a nice British kid, and he just ends up getting crushed by Mecha Streisand because the writers probably forgot about him and needed tie up the loose ends
The writers didn't forget about him, they just hated him so they decided to just kill him off the show.

@@staringcorgi6475 no. Pip is better then butters
@@ThisHandleIsRarefr though,pip is seriouely under-rated
I think one thing that makes Cartman truly great is that he is a true antihero. He's absolutely not a hero character because he's way too flawed to be looked up to, yet he's not a villain because he isn't a driving force for the protagonists, but a *driven* force in the show. His flaws may be exaggerated on purpose, they're still relatable. Mostly because of his mom, but also because of how flawed everyone else in the show is. South Park is comedy that overdoes literally everything, but when you look at Cartman through the lens of "he's a child surrounded by the other characters in South Park", he honestly doesn't stand out as particular degrees of evil to me, but rather a realistic depiction of what a 10 year old with this environment could be.
i agree. its a very accurate depiction of what a 10 year old would do in such an environment. what child wouldnt turn a guys parents into chilli and then feed it to him, and then kill hundreds of thousands of people with the help of a dark god

18:01 I find it so funny how Kenny's siblings just appeared so late in the show. I had always been under the impression that he was an only child due to his reaction to his mom wanting a baby in Cartman Joins NAMBLA.
Kenny has siblings at least as far back as Chickenpox from season two. Being a big brother is very different from being a little brother, though, and I should know, being an only child myself. Maybe they asked him because of the different relationship dynamics, or maybe they just wanted to inform him and smoothe over any resentment by giving him the illusion that he had a say in it.

Randy can’t be number 1 simply for the fact that he didn’t become a prominent character until like around season 6. Cartman has been the backbone of show since day 1.
@@Chillboyhaad even later than you think, Randy didn't truly come to prominence until Season 9. And also, Stan was meant to be the main character in the early days. He is the straightman of the group, the one who most of the time is just along for the ride. Even still, the series premiere is literally named after Cartman, and Cartman's name shows up in more episode titles than any other character (10). So you're definitely right in that he was always the backbone of the show.

I feel like I’d agree a lot more with Randy’s placement if it wasn’t for the newest seasons. Since Tegridy Farms came up, he’s been at the front and center in every South Park episode and taking up a lot of well-deserved screen time for the main four boys and the rest of the kids. He still has a lot of enjoyable antics but his character is so overdone in a show of SO many characters that his screen time has become insufferable.

I love the list. You never fail to disappoint. We have the same top 5. I love Stan. He’s definitely the most relatable character for me
I think you ment "not to disappoint" unless you found the video disappointing
my favourite thing about this entire rank is that when you brought up “the hall of super best friends”, moses is literally master control program from the first tron movie, and it makes me laugh every time.
Gerald having that secret side to his personality put him higher for me.
Actually having a way to get out his stress from working in a crazy way.
I mean, trolls we encounter on the internet, while we will imagine them as discord mod bods, are just regular people.
There is no better “frenemy arc” than Cartman and Kyle. It’s so iconic
Every single time I see Butters take the shuriken to the eye I can't stop chuckling.
Every time my wife and I are out and about and the number 350 comes up on a bill, receipt or just in general we look at each other and just laugh.
What’s funny is my love for this channel and all your analysis, yet I have never watched a single episode of South Park
“two celebrities will be included on this list because their characters are in several episodes and are distinct from their real-life counterparts”
Tom Cruise wasn’t distinct enough from his real-life counterpart lmao
Without a doubt, Cartman is a unique character and from time to time he presents something of pure insane, but but and but Randy is just an absolution of the description what insanity is, so for me both of them are the most essential part of the series.
