    Thanks! Great vid! I believe you can view the Google streetview directly in Route Planner by dragging and dropping the little yellow man!

    You can also use it on your smartphone - which I do. And very good it is too. BUT for proper navigation you need to have the paid for version which is about £50 a year now. That obviously avoids the need for a specific Cycle GPS unit - you pays your money and makes your choice....

    just watched the two videos and you can plan a route in komoot the same as ride gps and put way points in,I found if you are getting close to somewhere that you have all-ready done it tries to route you earlier in the ride, best way is to hold the destination and draw your track until you are past the location

    Hi Adam, very helpful thank you. Which mapping tool would you use to customise an existing route? I'm starting to plan a ride of the King Alfred Way and could do with some advice on how to tailor it to my needs with regard to daily distance, places to stay overnight etc.

      Hi Sally. I actually used Komoot for most of my routes. I'd plan each day as a separate route which can be tailored around places of interest, accommodation etc. I think it also has a feature where you can plan multi day trips in one go but I didn't use it.

    Thank you. I didn’t get all that. Not your fault, I’m just old and stupid! I plan on some bike packing come spring U.K. weather, I have a Wahoo Roam and now I want to learn to navigate using the Head unit. I use Strava and Rides with GPS, at £10.99 per month for the Premium (RWGPS) version it isn’t too expensive? I don’t have a computer, but hope to be able to use my iPad? Thanks for the vid. I’ll be watching it again! Least I can do is give you a thumbs up!

    Very useful, Thanks, One question... Can you tell me how to rename the waypoints on my planned route? I have a route which includes a feature I want to highlight. But it's not a currently shown on Komoot and I would like to give it a name different to "waypoint 5" for example. Thanks in advance.

    • @AdamStiff
      @AdamStiff  Před 3 lety

      Good question. I'm not sure to be honest. To add a highlight you need to edit a ride you have already completed and then "add a highlight" but I'm not sure if you can just change the name of a waypoint whilst planning a ride.sorry

      @@AdamStiff Ah, ok, thanks Adam. Once the world gets back to some semblance of normality and I actually get to make the trip I'll do as you describe. Thanks for the response.

    Are you using the paid membership in this video? Our club benefits include a basic Ride With GPS membership. I am trying to find out how to see my current position dot on the route I downloaded onto my phone. Any ideas?

    Perhaps a very noob question, but I do not get the tools (timestamp 2:44) shown in the right pane. I am a new user exploring the features and trying to get an idea of the service. As of now it‘s unusable to me, can add any waypoints and adjust a route without this tool,pane. Any suggestions?

    I can't understand what he is saying. He has a "foreign" accent, and there is noise (music?) in the background.
