This 1971 Real Deal Boss 351 was repainted in its factory Grabber Yellow Paint and its beautiful Black Knit Vinyl Mach 1 bucket seat interior. This Boss has a ton of very nice options on it including power windows, traction Lok differential 3.91 gears, ram air, 4 speed transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, AM FM Ford Radio, Power Antenna, rear defrost, fold down rear seat, dual exhaust, delayed wipers, front and rear spoilers, tilt steering column, rim blown steering wheel, and is ring on a nice set of Magnum 500 wheels with wide oval tires. Its grabber yellow paint has been repainted and has a great shine on a very straight body. Its black interior is absolutely breath taking and with all these cool working options it makes this car a real pleasure to drive. It runs and drives great down the road and is ready to jump in and enjoy!

If I could afford any muscle car it would be the Boss 351. My dad owned a 71 convertible with a 351 C under the hood when I was young, so while lots of people don't like the 71-73's, I love them.

My best bud bought one new from the Ford dealer in Medford, Orgon. It was red and had ALL the options. He was very generous with the keys so I got to drive it quite a bit. If I ever win the LOTTERY I will buy myself a BOSS 351! The greatest Mustang ever made. And I have owned a 351ci Mach 1, and two '65 convertibles, (all with 4-speeds) at the same time, so I am not just blowing smoke. I just sold my '98 Z28 and currently own a BMW 3.0 Z3 and a Triumph TR6. I would sell them all for a "71 Boss!

This might be a car I know. Way back in 2000, Memory Lane Auto, in Sun Valley California, had a '71 Sportsroof for sale, Ran & Drove for $3,250 (the Seller had no idea it was a Boss). Upon checking the vin I learned it was a REAL Boss, like the emcee mentioned "1 of 1,806." I ran the Marti for it, (3) options from the factory; Power Steering, Rear Spoiler, and AM Radio--that's it! Was originally a Seattle car. How incredible if this were the same? [EDIT: according to Driver's Door Sticker, the DSO is '84' which is the Home Office Reserve a.k.a. an order by a Ford Executive.] The owner of the yard in Sun Valley said the Seattle car was 'FAST.' Fun to see one FINALLY in motion. Cheers to every Mustang Fan!

Were the exhaust tips coming through the rear trim piece optional for the 1971 Boss?On every other one I have seen they turn down under the car without chrome tips.

Those lower door bubbles are not paint bubbles.. that is rust working its way out from inside.. you will need to cut a piece of the outer skin sheet metal off of the door and weld fresh sheet metal in and do repair on the inner door shell and maybe replace that metal too...

The Boss 351 was a separate trim level from the Mach 1. The Mach 1 was available for all three years this body style was in production, 1971-1973. The Boss 351 was only produced in 1971, but in 1972 the detuned Boss 351 engine was available as a 351 HO.

Does it still have the 4 bolt mains? Anyone who has ever driven a vehicle on non-radial tires knows they are scary to drive on any highway with tire grooves or tar snakes. Coker makes tires that look like bias ply but are radial. Power window lock comes on every car with rear power windows. Was a federal safety requirement that arrived same time as rear windows that did not fully roll down.
Any installed option upgrade that does not appear on Marti report is not a factory option.
Its a nice car, but consumers are much better informed than you are giving credit for.

That was my question too when he said the block wasn’t original. I recall back when older Mustangs were starting to become popular as collector vehicles, the were comments here and there about discovering the reason the Boss 302 you just bought didn’t really run very well was because the block was replaced with a low comp 289 short balcony cause a precious owner was cheap.
