The Cushman purests are absolutely losing their minds watching this. I love the new modifications.
I just read an article on these little bikes in a recent issue of Farm Collector. So cool :)
Cool old Cushman. I have a couple Tote Gotes that I got running last year. Put a 3hp in one and a 4 hp B&S in the other. Thirteen is my maximum speed. I also have to put the engine on some iso pads. They both vibrate something fierce. But they’re fun over at my property out in the woods.
Great job Taryl.
you done touched on everything
I can already tell it's going to be really nice when it's done! I can't wait to see it completed. Nice work as always Taryl!
Awesome buddy , look forward to the build.
Great project! Can't wait to see the rest of the build episodes.
Cool, can t wait to see it finished.
can't wait to see the finished
I swear yall make the best vids. Keep up the great work man.
Very cool Taryl ,love that military front tire. Can't wait to see the progress and finish.
A new Taryls Toys project; my prayers have been answered.
Hey taryl!! I just realized that I also have a Cushman trailster! Mine is a rolling frame but solid. I'd appreciate it if you could make a few step by step videos for a complete rebuild on one. Or at least point me in the right direction but I'd prefer you to do it because....well..... you're Taryl! Please get back to me as soon as you can.
So cool, babe magnet for sure!
I seen that thing in your shop, was wondering when you'd do something with it. This will be a nice, fun project......for you to do......and me to watch.....which is easier than working.
great video mr. taryl i look forward to more . you and taryl jr. have a great week sir
Very Cool ! Can't wait to see it finished .
This is gonna be a good build, nice work so far Taryl!
That is super cool man. I really like it. I would like to find one like that too.
love the video. you make learning fun.
the comet CVT is really a super way to go..
BEST CHANNEL CURRENT FAVORITE!! AND THERES YOUR DINNER
rusty nail thanks fer watchin Rusty!
My barber (you should think about getting a barber!) has a Cushman but he got bogged down with the electrical system and has never finished it. I got him a copy of Fred Haefele's "Rebuilding The Indian," which inspired him . . . but not enough.
I love it.
Taryl, You Told me at Portland IN. 2021 show that I did not watch the Trailster being built and I find 3 build videos? I must be getting old
Great video .
I bet that is gonna be pretty cool Taryl. Hey, I just noticed you went over 20k subscriptions! Congrats!
at 4:04 is that another bike there in the background with an Opposed Twin briggs
Love it,😀
I want to know what's up with the bike with the opposed twin in the background. that thing looks awesome!
That's gonna be a cool bike Taryl
Have you thought about the Tecumseh 12 hp OHSK120 with the balancer inside? THe alternator and starter fit the same engine....Super smooth
another great video I look forward to Sunday's now to watch y'all instead of NASCAR now that it sucks with segments can't wait for other videos
cant wait
Cool videos man. Always hated Tecumseh engines; they were all noisy and rough as hell. Carb problems to boot as well.
Your the man Taryl! Great videos! Tell Slippers what's up! What's your thoughts on mini bike chain tension? Do you ever use them?
In 1965 I was 14 and Cushman were clunky old bikes with torque converters.
Taryl if you put that gun scrabbard back on there then I fear for Ronnie's life!
nice
Where can we find a Hi Lo shifter box like this uses?
How you set the valves on kohler with non adjustable valves with hydro lifters? There are no clearance at all on the valves, that is causing the starter to stop? Also was told since I took pressure off the hydro valves the no I have to bleed them or it will bend the push rods?God bless Kroiler and there over thought rundant designs that they change eventually down the line.Shew.
tammygosnell the lifters are known to go bad in those. to bleed them, you have to remove the lifters from the bore with a magnet (think the head has to be removed to do it, been too long since I serviced one to remember) put the lifter in a vise with brass jaws and use a small socket on the plunger end. try to compress the plunger slowly and see if it will compress. if it won't, the lifters need replaced. I usually just replaced them as they are fairly cheap.
Iv been seeing that thing in the background of your vids. I even went looking in your old vids to see if you had a special vid just on it.
Last year I was helping a friend clean out an old barn that his family has owned for 65 years. He gave me a yellow trailster that looked just like yours. It had been in the barn for well over 35 years. I thought it was so awesome when I first seen it and I thought it was easy worth 1000. I ended up selling it for 300$ that was the best offer I got after having adds running for over a month. It didn't run but I thought it would be highly desirable just as it was because it was complete and in decent condition. What's one worth in non running condition?
my 60ah. 500w ebike will do about the same speed as the original 2hp. you had.. lol. wind burn.
What do you think of honda engines? They tend to be pricey. I think that they make a very good small engine which you be great for a project like you cushman. They tend to be smoother than some other brands.
Nice work. You could do a vid where a gang of cushman purists come to the shop and you run them over with your modded cushie. There's no rift not worth widening.
I need the parts to convert my 10hp techumis I just need the flywheel and starter, I don't care for the charging bits!
Where do you get a brand new tecumseh motor?
Taryl, I think you have to many other things to do and you need to ship that Cushman to me. LOL
Where did u bye the Tacoma's
your fast taryl
do a Briggs and Stratton
Don't let that mufkin light you up, Taryl.
All I ask if you part it out I need a two speed trans
I'll buy it
Very nice, can't wait to see how it goes. Keep it away from Ronnie.
TECUMSEH PUSH MOWER !!!,PRIMER WON'T WORK !!!,REPLACED BOWL GASKET & PRIMER BUBBLE ?
PLEASE HELP ????
THANKS ED
ED EDMUND clean the carb otherwise buy a new one!
Great vid as always Taryl and an unusual little bike, but be careful you all don't start throwing furniture and tools about and acting like a bunch of spoilt kids totally unused to having money!
What ever you do, install a kill switch you can get to it fast... the 8hp engine and low gears can easily overpower the brakes. And there is no way to disengage the clutch. SO... when the throttle sticks wide open... ( as it did on mine) The Thing Will Try To Kill You ! A positive kill switch on the handlebars, as well as the engine cowl can save your hide ( or your life). Any crash on a trailster is going to me nasty - go ahead, ask me how I know.
Do ya thing, make it scream
how much was it?
when's part two of the Cushman coming up
Ed James Next Sunday at 9 am central time!
Why not do quite Briggs and Stratton home made lawn tractor there's a challenge for you taryl
ps sound effects are wicked
Tote Goat,,,,,,?
My Dad had a Cushman Eagle I believe 1959/1960, could be wrong on the Date. He would give whatever kid 5 cents that started it, The pedal was strange , you would have to pull it back up after jumping down on it over and over again. It looked like crap and smoked like a mosquito fogger truck, But somebody liked it, cause it was stolen. He bought a 175 Lambretta, Yee Haw.
Never fear I called 911 or is it 119 oh well Ill call someone. Whats Slippers number again???
i like your videos and work, but why on EARTH would you use a tecumseh of all engines?
Taryl, vibrating probably because flywheel you took off was balanced with that crank rod and pistons snd flywheel you put on with ring gear is not balanced with the rotating parts
I thought Tecumseh was out of business
I thought Tecumseh engines went out of business.. I never did care for their engines..
tecumseh was a great warrior, but a crappy engine. go briggs, or go home!
That is hands down the ugliest bike I have ever friggin seen.
nice
