    Just received my Cab King 8V-1 machine. sad part is the motor mount was cracked in shipping. very sad it was a Birthday present and I invited my NWG&A Rock club members to watch as they were very involved in my choice of machines. Cab King of Illinois, will be shipping me a new motor hopefully soon, took 1 and 1/2 month to receive this broken one, hope its not that long for a unbroken one to get to me.

      @lapidarydave  Před 4 lety

      salalaos howdy there :) on these cab king machines you can have the drain holes be on the back of the machine instead of the front of the machine because of the way the pans are designed you can have them in the front or the back which I don’t believe I showed off in this video but one cannot have them come from the sides which would be very cool

      I totally know what you mean the industry is not making it easy for people to buy their machines they are definitely making so much more than the machines are worth by charging so much there is a clone of this machine being sold by two different companies when is called Hans lapidary the other is called Jewels & tools I think they are selling the 6 inch for around 800 bucks but even that is a little expensive for a lot of folks so I always suggest shopping for a used machine I bought a used two wheel 8 inch Lortone machine for $80 at gemshow in Colorado
      They can do absolutely everything the big fancy ones can one just needs to have a little bit extra patience and swap out the wheels whenever you need a different grit

      Hey there my friend 850s are fantastic machines It’s the first machine I started on and in my opinion there’s nothing that the captain can do that your machine cannot do with a little patience to remove and swap out wheels

    Thank you for showing the assembly process 👍 I just bought one and love it. It’s very quiet too considering it’s almost 3’ long with all the wheels spinning. I attempted to retrofit a smaller grinder with arbor extensions and was nowhere near the length requirement for all 6 wheels. I had no idea the Cabking motor was that large compared to a standard bench grinder either, but, like you mentioned, the Cabking runs true. I was nervous to turn it on but once it’s up to full speed it just hums very quiet. I have spent probably 4 months trying to piece together a makeshift cabbing machine and finally surrendered and bought the right tool for the job. Fantastic quality construction! Best wishes Dave and I’ll share some pictures of my work when I complete some. Do you have a webpage that has pictures of your cabochons? Or do you sell yours? Anyway, your positive attitude is appreciated as well as your straightforward approach. 👍😎🇨🇦

    I noticed that your drain tubes are in the front. You can turn the pans around so the tubes are in the back, out of your way.

    just got one. water feed taps and tubing were missing completely. drain hose is substandard design and flimsy, can't securely seal. and the assembly of the left hand shaft leaves some of the end wheel unsupported, very confusing.

      @@lapidarydave thanks; what is the arm guard? you mean the hand rests? I do have those. Just no plumbing. You seemed ok with the drain hose design.. dont you find it difficult to see how it would seal? the plastic hose doesn't push on far enough to engage the clips.

      @@makkyd123 So I do mean those little foam things that go in front of the water trays to protect your hands that’s what I meant By the armrests
      The drain tubes are bad I’ll pull them up all the way against the water tray housing and then I actually bent the metal clamps that came with my machine to be tighter than they came out of the box you put those over the water trays little drain ports

      Aaron Schaekel So since I cut thousands of pieces a year I end up replacing my wheels three times a year on average back in the day are used to have a A bit of a sponsorship and I did not need to pay for wheels at the time of making this video so I change them three times a year now I am paying for my own wheels for the first time in a long time and I am using about two sets of wheels a year the casual hobbyist or the artist who is just cutting to make his or her pieces for their jewelry could probably get two years or more out of a set but I often tell people to expect to replace them every year the Wheels at this machine come with her a bit generic and can probably last all year if you were cutting something soft like turquoise but if you were cutting a variety material such as jaspers jades in quarts I would say to expect to replace the cab king wheels sooner than later I often buy the premium REZ Grand wheels which are Are tied for my favorite wheels in the industry between them and Johnson brothers they are highly aggressive and last a very long time as soon as I got my cab king machine I actually put on a fresh set of REZ wheels because I knew the cab penguins were not going to be useful for me I often tell people when they buy their cab key machine you can go ahead and sell both sets of wheels that you just Got with your calving machine and you could sell them and buy a high-quality set of wheels and power we have a little money left over
