    It's hard to say what the best thing about Mordheim is, but the stories really do tell themselves just by playing the game and putting your warband into the crazy situations that unfold

      It is remarkable how little input it takes from the player to actually create a story around the warband.

    Love this video. I'm playing a Mordheim game with a group of 16 in Ireland and it's got elements of different campaign types you mentioned. It's primarily Narrative but it's got a bit of limited structure to it too. The game's campaign development is brilliant.

      Sounds like a blast! I haven't played dwarfs before but I recently finished a Chaos Dwarf warband to run as Sons of Hashut. I hope to make a video on them once I have played a few games with them. Thanks for watching!

    id add that when youre doing a map based campaign to be careful it doesnt devolve into continuously playing against the same foes because youre next to them on the map - can really kill interest level from the players who just end up fighting over and over

      The thing about fighting in Mordheim is that each day is a new foray into the city. Unless you are absolutely suicidal you don’t stay in the city overnight so when you are “taking territories” you could be said to be staking your claim and saying this is my turf for wyrdstone hunting. So there is no reason to be limited to only fighting people near you as each day you could visit a totally different part of the city.
      When you are playing an army level campaign across a map of the old world then thematically it may not make sense for an army to fight one round in tilea and the next in Kislev but Mordheim is such a smaller scale then there’s no reason you can’t use a different gate each day and explore disparate parts of the city.

    • @GetTabled
      @GetTabled  Před 4 měsíci +6

      When we did our map campaign, we picked a target location in order of highest to lowest WR. This represents a larger warband being less agile than a small one. Then, if two players pick the same location, they can choose whether or not they want a guaranteed fight with one another. All other players who are not having a guaranteed fight in their location are assigned opponents randomly. So, even if you pick a spot to travel, there is no guarantee that you will fight there. This represents Mordheim being a huge city that is impossible to map accurately, and warbands could get lost very easily.

    What do you think is the optimum number of games to play in a campaign? Let me state that in our case, the goal of the campaign is for players to bring their warbands up to a appreciable level of advancement but before one or two warbands start to run away with it -?

    • @7nineofspades5
      @7nineofspades5 Před 4 měsíci

      In my experience there really isn't a limit, if any particular warband starts to pull away from the pack you can have a couple of weaker warbands gang up on them or put them in a scenario where they get ambushed with their warband spread thinly across a large area. In my current campaign (with 16 warbands split into 4 alliances/factions) we have those with the lowest warband ratings pick their opponent each round, and they can opt for multiplayer if they wish to take advantage of the existing faction alliance or making a temporary one to take on a common enemy. We're just over 6 months into this campaign and it's likely to carry through for at least 18 months.

    • @GetTabled
      @GetTabled  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Anywhere from 6 to 8 games is more than enough to see decent progress. We recently tried a 10 game limited campaign with 6 players using the Mordheim Map, and we felt a little burnt out playing the same warbands for 10 games straight.

    Hi Mate, thanks for the booklet campign. I am runnung a limited campaign with for friends of mine.
    I found a single problem. How to determine who wins. I choose for the major value of the warband at the end of 6 match. And the sudden death option finding "the eyes of Numas".
    Anyway I have not a clear vision on how to determine who wins a limited campaign. Any idea or suggestion?

    • @GetTabled
      @GetTabled  Před 4 měsíci

      You could determine the winner by figuring out who had the most wins, who has the most gold in the bank, or who has the most wyrdstone at the end. Since you are already in the campaign, I would say the winner is the player who has won the most matches. Or you could have a multiplayer battle at the end to determine a winner.

    • @massimilianoausili6666

    • @GetTabled
      @GetTabled  Před 4 měsíci

      @@massimilianoausili6666 Sounds good to me. In my campaigns, we never make a big deal about deciding who the winner is. At the end of a campaign we usually like to share stuff about what our warbands did really well or crazy things that happened to them. The story is more important than the ending.
