We'd always just write down who took down who the moment it happens, both for battle reports and in case there is enmity, etc., or to build the campaign.
1:42 and dont underestimate ws4 as well, they often hit on 3+
7:32 The experience I had was, that mordheim is extremely fun when you play your warband like your character in a ttrpg, or even better like your npc-groups, if youve ever been the dm
I like the tip of making sure you remind people of how you distinguish your models. For my first warband I painted the units with ranged attacks purple while the rest of my warband was red. And even painted any hero versions of henchmen models teal so I could tell at a glance and could inform my opponent of that same rule for myself.
WOOT WOOT!! Mordhiem algorithm send this to EVERYONE so they will subscribe to Get Tabled!!
Huzzah!
I use to play Undead, and honestly campaigns would last until my opponents gave up on how freaking powerful my vampire would become. It doesn't take much to tip them over the edge into 1 man army territory. The worse I ever got was is I manged to get the skill to wield 2-handed weapons without penalty, sprint, and I think maybe some stat increase. But the kicker was when he got taken out, had to roll on the series injury chart....and came out the other side with the Frenzy skill. They tried playing against that once, and my vampire just tore through everything without blinking. That was the call to reset campaign was made. Also my friend played the shooting merc army, had one crossbower that always did super well and got promoted to a hero. Managed once to take him out and on the serious wound table it got stupidity. Next game he failed a stupidity test, walked out a 3rd story window and was killed off for real. Just in time for my Necromancer to then cast him back as a zombie for my side post game hahaha Amazing game, good memories.
Greate tips! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
The nice way to start playing without spending a lot time and money it's Tabletop Simulator (Steam). Thats how i learn mechanics in game and try some warband before build them.
That is a great point. I had forgotten about that when I was writing this video. If I make a video in the future, I may mention it.
During the game I mark all earned XPs by an single line / or \ and after the game for counting this will be marked as X For every "update roll" I mark it with an arrow as long as I didn't roll for it. So I know exactly if the XP was counted on the roster and if I made all rolls after my game.
Great video! I've recently gotten back into Mordheim after 20ish years and look forward to more videos from you.
Welcome back to the city of the damned!
Love these
Thanks!
To help distinguish the models I usually go for different size bases for heroes and henchmen (28-25mm), sometimes I go with 32mm for the leader. As for my goblins and skaven I just go with different colors for the details (Some clan rats will have purple rags, some other dark red, and the main color of the warband on both their robes).
These are great ideas.
Until we see your face I’m living in a reality that you ARE Eric from Eric’s Hobby Workshop! 😠😜
🤣
Lol I think he is more baritone than I am!

Awesome! Thanks so much.
That drawing a line thing is genius 😂
Sometimes the best solution is the most simple.
My favourite Mordheim channel 🖤🐀🐦⬛☄️🏚️
Wow you're so kind! I'm trying to do something different with these videos. There are a lot of channels that talk about and/or play Mordheim, but they don't dive as deeply as I would like.
Saw some poster bills on your terrain walls. Is that something you did or is available somewhere to print?
I think I just looked up Mordheim posters on Google and found a whole sheet of them.
I really like your style of videos. Do you think you’ll make videos explaining Frostgrave basics and such?
I was thinking of keeping the channel Mordheim related for now, since it is really the only game I play. I have played some Frostgrave in the past, so I may talk about it. I had some interest in making a Mordheim vs. Frostgrave video with another creator. Maybe we will visit the idea again.
"Go into the game expecting something horrible to happen" This is the best description of Mordheim I've ever heard.
It really is a comedy of errors lol
Play to win but expect to lose is such a good advice in wargaming in general, and in Mordheim even more so. Thanks for yet another great video!
Thanks for watching. Mordheim is full of so many ups and downs, it will be impossible to enjoy yourself if you go in with a hyper competitive mindset.
Great video. Thank you for making this and covering this game. It’s new to me and totally stoked to design 3D printable terrain for it and play.
I'd love for more designers to make more terrain for Mordheim! I am thinking about making a video that goes into what makes a terrain piece good for Mordheim.
@@GetTabled that is a great idea for a video. Looking forward seeing it when you make it. My first video is going to be Streets and alleys. I’m still in process of printing them. Once done, should be in a couple of days. I will then either do city walls or dive right away with buildings.
@@Slurgical_3D_Terrain_Channel Awesome. I'd love to see them.
The best thing about mordheim is, when you find models inside ruins when clearing the table after a game.
Especially when it is a metal model and it clatters to the floor lol
Nice video, always love more Mordheim content (although Night Runners can’t have halberds)
Thanks so much! You are correct, but he's got Weapon's Training :)
Don’t mind the longer vids at all 🤘🏼 And solid advice. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Subscribed for the channel name alone lolol. Great video!
Lol I have been tabled in Mordheim, maybe even more than once
I love this game, - but have noone to play it with anymore😢 So now I'm JUST doing the digital version (Mordheim, City of the Damned) on my channel, - and I only concentrate on ONE warband - 'The Firing Squad', - and I LOVING & NERDING it like crazy 😂 Thx for sharing your vid 🤩
Thanks for watching! If you are interested in skirmish games like Mordheim, you could try Sellswords and Spellslingers, or maybe Rangers of Shadow Deep. They are good solo skirmish games. I am also working on a solo Mordheim mode, but that is a long way from complete.
@@GetTabled Thx for sharing that 🤠 I'll look into those, - I've played solo before, - with many games like Magic, The Gathering, Chess & even TT-Mordheim (grew up as a single-child, so I'm used to playing games alone 🤣) See you, - cuz I'll be back FOR SURE 🫵🤩👍
Thanks for the video. I remember playing undead back in 2001, I would split my team into 2 groups; the Vamp & wolves, and everyone else. The zombies were super useful being a screen for my other models, while my 'blitz squad' would tear down the side of the table and attempt to flank. My opponent had to decide whether to focus on the big slow horde marching up the table... or tangle with the vampire and his puppies
I do a similar thing. I send my vampire with the dire wolves and have my ghouls protect the necromancer.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I will try.
Great video!
Thank you!
So .... as an attempt at addressing burnout in a campaign..... What if halfway thru the campaign you let the bottom half if the table reroll a new warband, with an adjust starting money and/or maybe from expanded bit more unbalanced warband list? Just to keep it fun?
That could be a good way of dealing with it. I have tossed around a few ideas like that, but it takes time to test things so its hard to know what the best route is.
Looking forward to seeing more of these videos. We played our first four scenarios the other day and were surprised at how easy it was to cause a rout. Not sure if we were missing something in the rules or not. My friends Reiklanders caused my undead to rout by just shooting at them as I tried to approach. My vampire was only Ld 8 and I failed first attempt at a rout test every game after my guys got repeatedly pummelled with guns trying to advance. We had a lot of terrain down, but I couldn't always hide. Not the best start D: Loved the warband management elements though.
Yes against Reiklanders it is important not to allow them to shoot at you too many rounds in a row, otherwise they will eventually land some hits. Remember there is the hide rule, which is great for advancing while avoiding enemy fire, even if it slows down the warband a little. As long as you have cover from all enemy models, and you did not run, you can declare yourself hidden, which prevents anyone from shooting at that model. Rout tests can happen quite suddenly once the action unfolds.
Good thing undead can't run 😊 @@GetTabled
So happy I found your channel! What mini is that Plague Cart?
Happy to have you! it is the Wizard and Wagon by RAFM miniatures. I replaced the driver with a nurgling from Gaspez Arts.
@@GetTabled Awesome. RAFM has some great minis. Thank you!
Can’t wait to play it
That is great congrats. I’m currently designing terrain to 3D print for Mordheim and making videos about it. Already got two of them on my channel
Awesome! I will have to check them out.
@@GetTabled I got hooked but SummonLesserMaker Roll4Terrain challenge. So far I rolled Smithy and the Alchemist Laboratory…..now I’m hooked, should check his channel, it’s pretty cool.
Well I have already failed tip #1 a lot. I haven't gotten to play yet, but I have painted eight Warbands, working on the ninth and I have snot goblin terrain on the way. Once it's all ready I will play. Hopefully my friends will be wowed and enjoy it enough to keep playing.
Good luck and I hope you get some games in soon. In my own experience, I had to find players outside of my friend group, since none of my friends play war games.
Mordheim content!!! thanks
Thanks for watching! More to come soon!
Hey it’s the bean game! Is your’s in German too? Excellent tips I need to work on tip #1, but I’ve played 5 Parsecs from Home so I’m confident!
I love the bean game! So many arguments with my family lol. My copy is in English, for I am in the United States. Jump into Mordheim as soon as you can! You can try it out solo too and it is still a good time.
great video, liked your point about playing asap. i havent tried the game yet, but have all ready build 3 buildings..
Get some models on the table and go to town!
@@GetTabled yeah I will do!
How did you print your rulebook like that?
I got mine printed at an office supply store about 10 years ago. They usually have a few options for binding. I would recommend getting a spiral bound copy rather than a perfect bound copy like mine. Spiral bound allows the book to lay perfectly flat while it is open, making it easier to read as you play.
Very good video! I started playing Mordheim when it came out, then after a long break, trying again a few years ago, but for me the rules are too complex. I really love the world of the game, I play it today with my group, but with other rules, simpler and more accessible.
I love the setting and the lore, but yes, the rules are certainly not the most simple to learn. But once you play a lot, you start to learn them by heart. Thanks for watching.
I like
I'm glad you like!
I don't mind long videos, but keeping a consistent upload schedule is beneficial for your channel growth so I understand 😉Looking forward to part 2! The part about playing to win but expecting to lose is a great point. I probably need to play skaven to be able to keep this mentality 😂 I'd get too invested in my Dwarfs or Middenlanders.
I love my skaven. Having 20 models on the table feels awesome while you are swarming your enemies. Just don't let yourself start taking rout tests before your opponent, because the low leadership of skaven will come to haunt you lol.
Hey, thanks for the nice videos and advice. Will try to play a game with random stuff soon ! What is the usual length of a game anyway ?
You are very welcome. Most games are around 2 hours, especially for new players. But with experience and/or luck, you might have games as short as 30-45 minutes.
awesome game
I agree!
I've recently gotten into mordheim because of my friend and I'm loving it. My bretonnian questing knight has been taken out by squirrels twice now. An elf ranger sniped two models then failed to climb down a building and proceeded to knock himself out. Fun times
awesome that you play bretonnians, are you using the original version or the bretonnian chapel guard?
Sounds like Mordheim is treated you about as well as one can expect lol. It really is a comedy of errors sometimes.
Timestamps: 1:30 Tip #1, play the game asap 4:29 Tip #2, have the rules on hand 5:21 Tip #3, play to win, but expect to lose 6:46 Tip #4, don't sweat it 8:06 Tip #5, the 'round down' rule 9:39 Tip#6, remind and inform each other Thanks for the great vid!
thank you for the video :) life is never balanced so more real. things don't happen as they do in movies.
Thanks for watching. This is very true. Some people are born into royalty, while most are not. Why should are games be balanced if life is not?
Love the game.. working on my “Carnival of Chaos” 😈but it is true.. Games workshop make lovely figures, when you come to play the games.. they can be very boring.. just lots and lots of dice 🙄and not much tactics.
Carnival of Chaos is a fun warband, for sure. I think Mordheim is the best gave GW has ever published. The heavy reliance on luck that comes with a D6-based system is perfect for the setting and tone of the game.
"Garage Sale at an insane asylum" 🤣🤣🤣
