I was going to say “I don’t get it, there are so many other ways to play these games already”, but the fact alone that you can use Evercade carts on these makes these make a lot of sense! Not for me, but a smart move to basically release a budget Evercade in time for the holidays.

Taito and Capcom have both said no to cartridges. I bought the Taito one for that reason, I can get all the Capcom arcade games I want for peanuts on Steam. I also like the Taito colour scheme more.

Yeah, I'm happy with the Taito too so I bought the Gaelco arcade cart and Renovation cart to plug into it. I love the toy mixed with collectable aesthetics of these units, us gamer nerds will recognise the branding even if we're unaware the products exist before seeing one. Cute, cool and genuinely comfy to slot in jeans pockets they're just fun products to own.
have them both pre-ordered, kinda deep into the evercade ecosystem, seemed like a no-brainer. Glad you are liking them, excited to get one

Hell yes , pre ordered both of these.
I was thinking to get the Capcom one but then I realised those are the classics I always play... at least their first stages. And then I saw that the added Puzzle Bobble to the Taito one. Sold!
Nice to see a review on these. I love what Blaze has been doing but didn’t feel it was worth buying their more expensive devices. This is a more attractive entry point to give the ecosystem a try. I’ve already picked up a few carts on sale in preparation.
While I have all the Evercade consoles, I planned to skip this one.... But now I think I'm going to buy one.
You can just sense the capcom edition is going to probably sell out pretty fast
Only want the Taito model as EXP has all the Capcom stuff.
Really nice design on those, the menu and UI also very nice and clean.

Weird. The one at Amazon (Germany) has 17 games in the Taito version. Puzzle Bubble is missing. Or maybe that game was a last minute addition that hadn't been added when they made those product shots.

I preorder the Capcom super pocket and they pushed the release date to mid November. They were supposed to come out at the end of October. Excited to get mine.

I'm in the same boat honestly. I've got an OG Evercade and an EXP, but these systems still look pretty tempting to me.
I tried these out at a trade show and there excellent..I can’t believe they added evercade compatibility ,that means there competing against the more expensive version.
Only games it couldn’t do were the first person shooters but they did tell me they were working on firmware updates so all carts will work.
The screens are great,the buttons feel good and responsive and it doesn’t feel cheap..well worth the money

Loking forward to getting my hands on these as the screen aspect ratio is perfect for most of these games unlike the Evercades which are widescreen and end up with black borders.

I have totally bought into the Evercade products. Own the original handheld, the Handheld EXP version, And the founders edition of their home console. With all of the cartridges that have come out so far too. So I guess I have to grab both of these as well. 🤷♂️

These seem like a really cool cheap way to get into the evercade ecosystem for people interested in that without buying the higher end evercade devices.

Bought both, really like the Capcom color scheme, and well I like the games from both, pity that back buttons are not easy to press so any game like street fighter or forgotten worlds that require those buttons is a bit of a pain, anyhow im happy just having both to collect them

Dude Yes. I love this. I’m so happy I preordered the Taito one. Gonna be a long month to wait now that I’ve seen the new presentation. No way I’m not gonna like this better than my EXP. That white EXP looks kinda… medical? Or like a K-12 learning device in person.

It’s done via arcade dip switches. It’s going to be added to the Evercade firmwares.
Or maybe it's just automatically selecting the lowest game difficulty settings on games that offer it.

What irks me is the games only being available to play on these handhelds, they definitely should have made capcom/taito cartridges for us VS users.
Licensing issues most likely causing issues where this is the best outcome (consoles with ip best games in 1)

Probably. They work on OG and EXP models of the Evercade. The “home console” license is what Blaze didn’t get with the Namco collections so I’m guessing the VS has some software inhibit coded in.

There’s a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom.
