Great info. I'm 58 and would love to get a light playbike so that no trail intimidates me. I've done some crazy stuff on my WR250r but it's not fun picking it up or riding scary hills.
Is it ok to run the 2 stroke mildly most of the day without fouling or the like?
Bikes that interest me are;
KX112
YZ 85 LW and 125X
KTM XCW 150
maybe even a Sur-ron Ultra Bee
Surprised how many taller riders are using KLX 140 or even CRF125FB and having a ball.
I 100% understand not wanting to pick up the heavy bikes haha I've had my fair share of big bikes but for the super tight stuff we've been riding lately you just can't beat a smaller bike. if the bike is tuned properly and you're running the proper gas to oil mixture for the type of riding you're doing that day yes you can lug the bike all day and have no issues, and all of those bikes are good options, personally if I were to get something bigger I would love a 150 XCW or 125X as my next bike, problem is there the same physical size as a 250 which is what I sold to get the 100 haha so it's like what do you do. personally I think if you're trying to ride tight stuff a lot the smaller seat height bikes are the better option, it's just easier to manhandle them. my 100 has over 100 hours now with zero issues only routine oil and filter changes so they are a great option and if you just don't feel like dealing with pre-mixing and tuning then the CRF or the KLX are also bulletproof options. You can't kill those trail bikes,I've tried lol
Whats your air screw position? My 2021 kx100 idles with screw position at half turn from fully seated which is weird.
I don’t remember the exact position I have mine in, it’s super weird because it seems like it always changes, some days it idles great some days it doesn’t, I got it pretty close now where it pretty much idels all the time but there is some days still where it’s weird.Definitely a tricky one but I’ll check mine one of these days and get back to you🤙
Have you replaced crank shaft seal? If leaking 2 strokes will play funny buggers. They can blow out black mess in mag or suck in no mess at all but crap running bike. Also worn rings or possible air leak around reed gasket crank case. Spray carby cleaner around these joints while running. Next is piolet jet and mixture screw.
Bike has done it since it was brand new last year, my brothers 85 which is also a 21 was doing similar stuff when he got that, float height was way off which was a huge portion of the issue and they don’t list a spec for that so we pretty much just guessed, it’s pretty decent now though only time running changes is between cold and hot which is normal And can be changed quickly with slight tuning
How tall are you? I plan on getting my first bike idk if I should get the yz125 or kx100
I’m 5’11 150lbs and it’s on the smaller side for me but that’s why I like it because it’s easier to man handle in the rough terrain I always ride so depending what you plan on doing with it the kx is a good option

How many hours till it blows up I'm stuck between a crf150r or a kx100 this will be my first bike I just want it to last for like a year before I have to rebuild the top end. So witch one you think would be a better choice?
Mine has like 80ish hours and still runs like new,as of anything if you take care of maintenance and don't beat the crap out of it,it will last. As far as rebuilds go a two stroke is way cheaper to rebuild but really comes down to personal preference which one you like better And again if you take care of it you won’t really have to worry about rebuilds I’ve had two stroke dirtbike’s last five or six years and hundreds of hours without needing a rebuild with the type of riding I do, mainly woods stuff, track riding or sand pit where you’re always beating on it always requires you to do rebuilds sooner so that all comes into play

@@xposex1052 no problem,Just need to keep up on air filter and oil changes and proper fuel mixing and don’t beat on it 24 seven and they last a long time
@@Adaptive_riding ohh ok any tips on witch oil mixture to use cause I saw on one of you videos your bike wasn't running right cause of the mixture and what ratio should I mix to make it run right
@@xposex1052 Mine wasn’t running right because the type of oil I was using, both my bike and my brothers 85 run weird on castor two stroke mix, I’ve just been using yamalube 2s oil and a hotter plug and it’s been great ever since,And the mixture I run depends on what type of riding I’m doing, if I know I’m going to be doing a lot of low speed technical stuff I run 40 to 1, if I’m going to be doing a lot of revving it out in sand pits and stuff I run 32 to 1
Always redo the float hight and redo your jets
Kawasaki doesn’t give a float height in the manual so you have to guess until you get it right ,and I’ve never had to change jetting on a new stock bike you can always tune it for your elevation with needle height and air fuel screw. This isn’t my first rodeo this one was just a bit more of a pain compared to the few other new bikes I’ve gotten
is this bike the big wheel version?
Kx100 only comes in one wheel size,the 85 has smaller wheels

it all depends on how you ride it, if I'm being gentle on it,lower rpm stuff through tight technical trails it's really good on gas. we bring extra gas with us and never do we need it and that's even after a handful of hours riding
How tall are you?
Im 5,11 150lbs the bikes on the smaller side for me but that’s part of the reason I got it,it’s easy to man handle in the nonsense we always ride haha
@@Adaptive_riding okay awesome. So i am 178cm (think that is 5 ft 10inch) and 165 lbs. Just bought myself one with V-force reeds and a pro circuit pipe. Hope to have it as a good intro bike and to learn. Seems like the power is good enough. Im new to MX bikes. Super excited.
@@roomekirsten7980 yea should be a good bike for you then especially if you plan on riding rough and tight terrain that’s where surprisingly this bike shines it lugs great and plenty of power up top to have fun, enjoy the bike man🤘
