    My KX100 is my fantastic trail bike - flywheel weight - largest front sprocket - tuned lean on pilot - it will chug all day and never foul - but still soars at WOT - ( I am a mechanic/ tuner/ so I have modded the powervalve to open slower/ custom reed mods)

      Smoke is cool till your smoking up the whole track, my friend who take terrible car of his rm85, he runs his bike way to rich with 2 stoke oil and I don’t know what oil he buys but it stinks. And he had is 85 for like 3 months and didn’t change his oil ones. And the only reason I knew is because he was riding with me and I told him I have to change my oil.

    Ok quick question. I’m coming off 4 stroke bikes and looking in to 2 stokes, and from what I’ve heard there basically the perfect bike for me. The one thing that got me second guessing was how u guys say there’s constant rebuilds with the engine, and I’m just wondering if I should be of concern with that

    • @TeamWaxOffroad
      @TeamWaxOffroad  Před rokem +1

      well the KX bikes in particular are built for the track, they're made to be ran as hard as the rider can ride them for shorter periods of time. and most racers will go a few races and do some maintenance on their bike, which can involve rebuilds. with that being said, trail riding these bikes like we do can involve running the bike all day long. it will last quite a while, but a four stroke can go years and years and years with no rebuilds necessary, a two stroke bike like this might need a rebuild within a couple years at the latest. it wouldn't be a constant issue, just something to keep in mind in the long run.

    • @ncopp4358
      @ncopp4358 Před rokem

      If your doing trail riding mostly, you can get a lot hours on a top end than if you hitting the track. The nice thing about 2 strokes is that they are easy to rebuild. Top end don't require a lot of money or special tools to do. If you freshly rebuilt your top end on a 2 stroke. Break it in gently for about 1/2 to 3/4 tank of gas then you can rip it hard to do the final seat on the rings. My biggest piece of advice for trail riding a two stroke is to absolutely make sure your bike is up to temp before coming near that powerband. Slowly ride and feel the radiator every so often, once its warm to the touch, do quarter to half throttle pulls and let the rpms build up slowly into powerband and let off once it starts to make power. Keep doing that until its hot and then your bike is ready to go. Side note, once you getting it started, you should immediately pop it into gear and chug around, don't let it sit and idle. You can get 150 hours of riding on a topend with minimal power loss by properly warming up. And then at that point, rebuilds are just pre-cautionary maintenance. Its all about patience. A buddy of mine would always get impatient and not properly warm up his bike before we rode and would rip through top-ends. I rebuilt my kx after 2 years of hard riding and the cylinder bore, piston and bearings still looked new, minus the rings.

    Nice explanation and pros and cons. You are years my junior but have more knowledge for sure!
    Oniy criticism is if you're going to stand the camera that far back you need a portable mic attached to your collar or something thats the standard youtube has made with so much competition. Like all channels are like my audio needs to be perfect so I don't get unwarranted dislikes.
    If the mic is not a option you could either lower the begining part of the vid's audio or boost the part of you talking. Search volume normalization on youtube and google. Hope that helps.
    Some great points you made here, appreciate the vid, thumbs up, watching from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    • @TeamWaxOffroad
      @TeamWaxOffroad  Před 4 lety +1

      I know my audio is not the best, I have been researching other cameras I could use for these videos with better audio, or at least one I could get a good aftermarket mic for. GoPro has terrible factory audio and aftermarket mics are way too expensive, I have to buy a high dollar mic adapter for it as well. So I would rather buy another camera with good audio and camera quality. But thank you for the feedback, I do appreciate it!! :)

    • @shifty277
      @shifty277 Před 4 lety

      @@TeamWaxOffroad The camera quality is fine imo I just watched it on 1080p on my 32" absolutely fine.
      If it doesn't have a external mic plugged into it try that first (imo). The Rode VideoMicro Compact is £50 here on Amazon UK maybe 60 or 70 dollars in the state.
      But before you lay out any cash watch a few videos on youtube there are pros out there that have done tons or trial and error for the best solution. That mic would work perfect on an older go pro (i think not guaranteed). When gopro made their cameras waterproof without putting a case on it had a knock on effect on the audio quality. The go pro wiki page is a great base for reading too.
      Once the editing, video and audio are top notch the world is your oyster, there are tons of people around the world wanted content about off road bikes.
      All the best dude.

    • @TeamWaxOffroad
      @TeamWaxOffroad  Před 4 lety +1

      @Ryan I plan on improving the audio when editing the best I can with what I have, and I use the Hero 7 Black. So I have to buy an adapter first, which goes for about $60-$70 in the U.S. Then I can buy the mic like you recommended, I’ve been researching some more and one of those mics would be much better for what I did in this video and many others as well. Again, I appreciate your feedback! I’ll do my best for sure buddy!

      Have a look at "The Loam Ranger"'s channel.
