  • Evolving Beings - EBTV with consciousness expansion teacher Evita Ochel and returning guest Tom Campbell (my-big-toe.com) in a dialogue about the practical applications of MBT - My BIG Theory of Everything.
In this part 1 of 5 topics revolve around life, work and money, touching upon the political, economic systems, as well as morality and integrity.
Tom is a leading researcher and authority on consciousness, reality, and out-of-body experiences, which he has been studying for over 30 years. He is a physicist, lecturer, and author of the My BIG TOE trilogy.
PART 1: Life, Work & Money
    1. As everything comes down to perception, how can we increase our perception to be most in alignment with our true nature? (2:40)
    - An explanation to understand that perception includes 5 different components.
    - Tom explains what those are and how they each limit/constrain or expand our perception.
    - How the size of your awareness is related to the size of your reality, and to the size of your perception.
    2. Many of us are stuck on right/wrong, and morality issues, how can we make sense of what is really right or wrong in light of the bigger picture of MBT and a virtual reality? (13:45)
    - Understanding what constitutes a right action according to MBT
    - An explanation that it is not about the action, but about the intent that makes it right or wrong
    3. In our productivity, goal and success driven world, there are a lot of "should's" and "have to's" in people's lives, but based on a virtual reality model do we really have to do anything? (21:15)
    - The importance of being versus doing
    - What we really have to do, and why
    - The distinction between intellectual-level action versus being-level action
    - The importance of personal change on a fundamental level of being
    - The error of focusing on the problem versus the solution, for example with weight loss
    - The fallacy of following what "feels good"
    4. How does our work/career choice impact us and the system on a greater level, and why does it matter how we choose to fill most of our days? (33:00)
    - Understanding how what you make of your job is more important than what your actual job is
    - The importance of your state of being, versus doing within your work
    - Learning to balance personal aspirations, and not getting caught up in status or Ego
    5. How to deal with having a job or position that does not hold the greater good in mind? (40:00)
    - An understanding of integrity and morality choices within one's life
    - Learning how to be part of the solution versus part of the problem
    - Understanding how to work with the rule set within this reality and how to make the best of it
    - The futility of trying to make or force others to change
    - The importance of focusing on personal being and action with respect to what one does, or how one does it
    6. How to make sense of money and our economy, which is still a struggle for many as good versus bad? (48:12)
    - Tom explains how to understand money as a tool, and how we dictate the meaning it receives
    - An explanation of different political/economic systems and why they are not the problem, but rather the people populating them
    - The importance of evolving the quality of our consciousness to have the most efficient change within society
    - Being able to see the system as a representation of us
    7. How do we not negate what is within our systems (politics, economics, consumerism, healthcare, etc), while not being used by it, or kept "asleep" by it, or having our personal growth stunted by it? (55:00)
    - Tom explains that it is always about personal accountability and intent-no one or no thing can force change upon us, or enslave us
    - The importance of being the example ourselves, being the change, being the solution
    - How to make peace with the current system and rule set in place that constitutes our "neighbourhood"
    - An explanation to understand how the people in influential positions are not any different than us
    - Understanding how the outer world is a representation of our inner world, macrocosm versus microcosm and knowing that we can only change ourselves

I have read My Big TOE, and generally love what he has to say, but when he gets to politics, I hear him going off the rails.
I'll stick to one of his statements, "Money is not the problem, You are the problem...Money is just money, a way of exchange...people need to change, not the money"
Then he throws out the word "utopian" for people that challenge our monetary system.
What he fails to realize, is that Money in our system is not a fair way of exchanging energy because when money is made to pay for things like Human labor, that money is lent out from a Central Bank, with interest having to be paid back to the private bank. So, the people that run the bank, make money from printing money, while the rest of us have to work for our money, as well as pay interest on the money we were paid. This is slavery, not a fair use of money for exchanging energy.
It is not utopian to suggest that 99% of us should not pay for the use of money, while a few make billions by charging us interest that they print, as if it is their money.
As Tom said, if we had leaders that came from Love, we would have a fair system, but we have corrupt greedy people that screw up monetary systems.
He is correct, and those types run our banks and profit form our labor, not their own labor.
The more Tom and others become more Conscious, they will have to admit that our money system is slavery, and that is not an "ism", it's just the facts, but many people have a hard time understanding simple things.
To say our money system isn't evil , that it's the people that need to change, is like telling factory chickens who complain about having their beaks chopped off, before being stuffed 4 to a cage, and are so traumatized they attack and/or eat each other, that the cage is not evil, it is the chickens that need to change. When they stop attacking each other, the beak chopping will stop
Chickens ar3e not cannibals at their core, but the extremely unnatural environment is too much, and a Loving being would not subject another to that.
Sure, being a slave is a good test at being the most loving being one can be, but being a slave owner or a beneficiary of slavery is a test for that person to see if they wake up to their part, rather than telling the people, the cage is not the problem, just work harder for your money.
Well, Tom, even if we make billions, we always have to pay interest on that, so we are always in debt.
I am not into utopia any more than Canadian Lawyer Roco Galati that who is suing The Bank of Canada for their practice of charging interest on loans to the government.
You tell people to leave a company that uses child slavery, as we are here to be loving conscious beings, but when it comes to government agencies, you say, we can't change everything, better to stay with the evil company and be a ray of light on the inside.
Well Tom, a real ray of light would be fired from any so-called evil company or government position if they stood up and told the truth, and there are countless examples.
Edward Snowden is an example of one, but maybe he is just a Utopianist or socialist, or an ego-maniac, or a traitor, or in a lot of fear, but it seemed to Many that he was doing his best to be a loving being, and so he didn't keep his cushy government job, like the many that support our criminal monetary system.
    Thanks for listening.

    • @rodciferri9626
      @rodciferri9626 Před 7 lety +5

      Tom says the
problem with government and money is that bad people control them.
However, it doesn't matter who is in charge, the systems of government
and money are both designed to plunder.
He calls those who want to operate beyond those systems "utopians."
      It's
funny how someone who recognizes the necessity of having a skeptical
open mind can resort to name calling because he just can't bring himself
      to explore these possibilities.
Then, again, maybe not so funny - and certainly not unprecedented:
"If you suggest a doubt as to the morality of these institutions,
      it is boldly said that
      “You are a dangerous innovator, a utopian, a theorist, a subversive;
you would shatter the foundation upon which society rests.” -- Frederic Bastiat, "The Law" (1850).
I find folks of Tom's generation practically incapable of imagining a world without government and "central bank" money.
      Very sad.

You are framing the problem around money printed by central banks. This money will not last when cryptocurrency takes root. The evolution of money has already happened, but not many people know about it yet. You are currently free to send money to anyone in the world without a fee using crypto. The possibilities are endless.

I have been watching Toms videos for a while now.. a very brilliant man, on the forefront of merging science and spirituality, yet so practical! I think too that the most important thing is to take responsability for oneself first. Yet there is a crucial point that has been talked about in this video, which was about the "working in an inmoral company".. In fact, I think there is more to it than Tom said here.. There are a variety of projects and start-ups which are on the cutting edge of bringing new possibilities and capacities to the world, of how we can expand our patterns of value creation, defining currencies new, interaction and colaboration with each other.. one of the most promising I found is holochain. They are creating a decentralized, peer-to-peer pattern based on biomimicry as the new internet, which will run without centralized servers, allowing people to self host their applications.. which will basically supercede amazon, facebook etc and bring privacy and data integrity back to the people.. and eventually completely reform our money system, which is the true vampire in our world. Thats the point where I disagree with Tom, the money system is indeed a very big problem alongside the poor spiritual developement. they go hand in hand, we have one because we have the other, changing both may be quick enough to turn this ship around in time.
For example money is a one-dimensional construct which works basically around the emotional scale of greed and fear, it allows us for example not to make the enormous value of honey visible that it has for the whole ecology and our O2 production...money was in fact historically invented to bring barter to societies which before lived peacefully without it (studies of David Graeber), and it successfully managed to split these societies into shards. Further than that since the abolishment of the gold standard money is backed by nothing of real world value, basically a thin air-bubble which creates debt intrinsically by its design through interest on interest... all the countries with 300% and more of debt.
In this case it has nothing to do with the attitude of how you use it, you can do a lot of beneficial things with it, like some people proof.. Yet on large scale the money system has by far not enough flexibility to create and depict the values that we need for global change objectively.
anyways, thanks for doing your work, the world needs it badly :)

In my experience one does not live as an example before others and I have found that I project my own place by not flow but rather force upon myself, doing the very things that I despise. At one time I changed myself by flow and this promoted happiness for me and people that I associated with. Then suddenly I went backward into force and this produced stress which landed me in the hospital. Now that I am back home nothing has changed. I am going backward again in stress from force. I am forcing my self to do a gig that I hate. This reflects on the people that I come in contact with. When they ask me how I am , I respond , I am as grumpy as I have ever been.I forced stress upon myself. One doesn't live their life as an example before others. People are going to be just who they are.Hate hurts as well as self loathing.

I agree about him saying to change what you can, about oneself, yourself. But by doing this, is changing the world, one step(individual) at a time, of which is the ONLY way. You have to have patience, faith, courage in the truth of consciousness/humanity.
That is the key, if everyone, at least the majority changed themselves to align to what they know is right, and to what they know they need truly, then we all as a collective evolve in consciousness, a quantum shift in consciousness of which is what we all truly want deep down, but we all don't know how to let it happen. Too many people think they have to push others,or force others, in order to get our quantum shift, but the opposite is true, to only worry about if you yourself is doing everything that you can to change the things you don't like about yourself, and you will eventually inspire your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same after seeing your success. This is how you "force" others to become like you want, show them by example. But be patient and never stop trying, when you fail to change the immoral things you blindly obey and enforce, fund, and support, then you failed on oneself, and you will not be influencing anyone to walk your shoes. If they walk your shoes in this case, it would be because they used fear and ignorance to make that choice. Give them your proven success story, and you influence the world to walk those shoes. You don't want to just sit there waiting, and trying to force others with :laws" you and your bribed politician made up, waiting for them to become a success just so you can say "see, that is what i am talking about, be that", DUH, so that is precisely why you need to be doing it yourself, now, and stop sitting there waiting for someone else to set the example, for someone else to make a change in themselves, all while you sit there and change NOTHING about your selfish self.
If the majority truly look inside themselves and aligned to the truth of consciousness that they for oneself have, then all the people who do this come back out with the SAME philosophy, the same principles, the same ethics. It means they AGREE, they all agree on what is correct, and incorrect, right and wrong,etc... there is no opinions, because everyone , or at least the majority know the truth of consciousness, is moral(correct and good). You don't look for right and wrong from the external world, you don't look at a bribed politician for what is correct and true, you look inside, and what you find there, every single other individual with a consciousness will find inside themselves too. There is no doubt.

Very sweet :) Thank you. But as a serious side note, the more we live from a space of love towards ourselves and all others (including all life forms), the more we emanate love from our entire being.

    • @EvitaOchel
      @EvitaOchel  Před 8 lety +4

That is a very good question, and the reference to all life forms includes them too. Moving into lower states of entropy means understanding the purpose for all life and not waging war against anything. Most bacteria (over 95%) are helpful and necessary to our survival. It is unfortunately a misrepresented view of them driven by the chemical, pharmaceutical and medical industries that has destroyed a healthy balance here, and now has most people in fear regarding them. Not realizing they are destroying their health and our Earth in the process.

    • @EvitaOchel
      @EvitaOchel  Před 8 lety +1

You are most welcome :) And great questions and points for reflection. Technically there is no "punishment" but, yes, there are consequences for every action. This is what spiritual traditions have sometimes also referred to as Karma. I believe that balance is very important, as nature shows us, and I feel this is very similar with all systems. It is also safe to say that we will *feel* the consequences of our actions when we return to the LCS (upon death) because we merge with the "all" and this helps us also evolve spiritually.
It is hard for anyone to say with certainty what happens, and we have to remember as Tom himself shares, that these are his theories, perspectives and understanding of things based on his consciousness. It is hard, if not impossible, to know the system from within itself. Either way, we should never fear what may be after this lifetime, for again, there is no punishment, especially in the sense that many religions have tried to create. We just become able to fully SEE and FEEL, and this helps us and the LCS learn and evolve. You may also enjoy what Jurgen Ziewe shares about life after death and consequences of our actions, which he covers in some length in the latter part of this show: czcams.com/video/kAzCXlkznlI/video.html

Tom refers to systems of politics or economics that people want to fix, or overthrow, or eliminate as sources of tyranny, and he says, its not the system's fault, its you, change yourself, be more docile, be more complacent, don't fight the system, just be peaceful and lose your ego, lose your fear of the system and its ill intentions. However Tom also refers to the greater system of reality, of consciousness that we live in, i.e. the Universe, and how its all just virtual, and not real, perhaps he misses the idea that the problem is not with the smaller scale of systems but the overall larger encompassing system and its ruleset which governs all of life.

he doesnt explain how our intents are all developed based on a false view of reality, and therefore the true view of reality is necessary to have non distorted intentions and expectations. Expectations do not arise when the right view is present. Expectation is based on the idea of an individual self that is separate from its exterior reality. The fact of Not-Selfness is a necessary realisation, to be able to rid oneself of fear, sadness, anger and greed.. the paid education, employment and monetary system does not permit sentient humans from being able to penetrate ultimate reality, due to the fact it forces us to see ourselves separately as individuals. The religion of individuality is the door of the prison. If humans were enlightened, then we would no longer need a college graduation (paid for), to get a job which will take 50 years to pay back the college education you needed to GET the job, to keep paying for things with.. that is what stops humans from perceiving the true nature of reality

I have followed Tom off and on for a year or so now. So far my perception of his “TOE” has been that of a well thought out story linking together mysteries in theoretical physics, his OOBE experiences at the Monroe institute. and the current literature on the simulation hypothesis. May or may not pan out. Where is the evidence? Wasn’t he working on obtaining evidence? Or is there any mathematical proof? What type of experiment would prove or disprove this story?

But there would be inequity and upper and lower classes of society. There would be those who have resources and those who do not - if Tom's theory is true. That's because those of low awareness yet good intentions who currently hold almost all the resources on Earth intend to "cull the herd for their own good," leaving less in the hands of the herd and more in their own hands. Not only that, but those of dim awareness yet good intent evolve toward becoming love more rapidly in the course of their mass murder because, again - if Tom's theory is correct - it's only "being" or "intent" that matters, while actions have no moral consequences.

The real question is how the hell is my life ever going to change under the current monetary system. Your life will change when you take responsibility for it, be more lucid and cooperative with your intent, but as well be more disciplined with your effectiveness, which points to study, credentials, work, thrift, entrepreneurship, and giving back. Your only path to changing society is to change yourself. Waiting for someone else to change the monetary system, is a trap of ego.

Fear and ego seems more like a product of the rules of our PMR and how the evolution of life has adapted to them, than the fundamental inhibitor of consciousness evolution.
Fear, for example is extremely useful in a natural earth environment, fear is what prompts the gazelle to run away from the lion, just like it prompts the drug dealer to run away from the policeman. If you do not feel fear in dangerous situation your body does not dispense adrenaline and thus you won´t be able to flee as speedily as you may need to in order to survive.
Ego on the other hand seems to be intricately entangled with earth life´s mating process, having above average skill and ability will enable you to survive, but if you cannot show them of, then their value will be unrecognized by the other members of society, and that inhibits their chances of reproduction since nature, with most species has arranged a situation where females are dependent upon a strong skillful male to survive, and thus has to pick a capable specimen that is why even human girls(or males for that matter) are generally more attracted to the show off´s than the humble folk, its just natural instinct.
When fear gives you the extra boost you need to run away from the machete swinging lunatic who has just escaped from the insane asylum, or stops you from ingesting a dangerous substance, then fear is a good thing. When it disables your ability to size opportunities and take calculated risks in life then fear is a bad thing.
When ego help you get a nice loving wife and 3 children, or makes your boss recognize the hard work you have put in, then its a good thing, when ego disables your ability to recognize flaws within yourself, and consider the needs of others, then its a bad thing.... Am i wrong here?

I think it's naive, at best, to assume that if we all simply choose to "grow up" and mind the rafter in our own eye (in the words attributed to the messiah) instead of the speck in the eye of another, everything would simply take care of itself and society would function the way we all agree that it should.
There is a big difference between concepts that are based on empirical evidence and concepts that are based on other concepts.

But Tom also says, Money in itself is not bad." I say, if I want to be financially wealthy, then I can be, it does not harm anyone, right? while you are right about the money system, I would agree with rubarbcheese that it was individuals who created the money system, and I don't think they all had a positive intent in doing so. We, as individuals must renounce their money and start using our resources to represent true wealth. So, the money system is the cause of most of our societal ills, but it was individuals who created it, and it is individuals who must dismantle it, it won't take care of itself.

He must know that our current type of money isn't neutral. Makes me extremely suspicious of him when he says it's just a way to not have to barter. Also, that's not how societies without money work. They're mostly about doing each other favours and remembering what people have done for you.
You could say that he just doesn't have an open mind, but he analyzes much more complicated systems all the time. To him it should be intensely clear that our monetary system isn't neutral. HIs attitude here is very, very suspicious.
The stuff about doing your job seemed very suspicious as well. It would be much more logical for him say "follow your heart, quit your job, and see what happens", I'm getting a bad vibe from him now. Maybe I should write to him and ask for some clarification.

Evita Ochel isn't that exactly what he's saying? the most important part of his speech that rubbed me off the wrong way was that we somehow should be 'of service' to people nevermind our life situation. why do I really should give a damn about other people (excluding my family and friends ofc) since they obvioisly don't care about me?
I'm pretty sure that you're going to answer with something like 'That's exactly the lesson you and many people on the planet have got to learn in this lifetime' but that just doesn't work for me and definitely never will.

    • @EvitaOchel
      @EvitaOchel  Před 6 lety

I fully understand and empathize with you, in that when we are facing a life that appears random and/or chaotic, and is full of stress and pain, it is challenging to see things any other way, and even harder to care about others. However, others are not separate from you, they are an extension of you. This is not about lessons in this lifetime, this is everyone's lesson in every lifetime of a physical incarnation on Earth > to understand and know themselves as ONE.
All spiritual teachers have been trying to teach us this for thousands of years. Today, modern science confirms that everything is connected, from one source of energy, and all separation is an illusion. So whatever we do to others, we truly are essentially doing to ourselves. As long as you hold love back from others, you are holding love back from yourself. Doing the right thing is not about what others are doing or not doing. It is about YOU, and what is the highest potential you are capable of? How will YOU define yourself: as a loving being or as a selfish/uncaring being?
It all and always comes down to US. This is why Gandhi shared what he did in his famous words: be the change. Not be the change, if others are nice or doing what you want, but be the change you wish to see, period. And this is also why Buddha taught that the greatest source of suffering are our own attachments and aversions to having things as "we would like". No, life is about us learning to go beyond all circumstance, no matter how positive or negative with love, not about lowering ourselves to the energies of separation, fear, anger, hatred, etc.
And today, we also have health science to back up how much our health and wellbeing suffers when we do not choose love toward the self and other. So please know that being kind and loving is not something you do for others, but something you ALWAYS do for yourself.

Your last choice of words is right on: deal with it. This is one of Tom's main messages, to learn how to deal with the challenges in our lives from a love-based perspective. If you don't however resonate with his work (there are more videos with him I have that touch upon how to deal with challenges), I can recommend instead this video class I gave that can perhaps help you further to see what options are available to you at this time for making effective changes that will bring about more relief, joy and inner peace from the inside out: czcams.com/video/X-pvP4ZUbUk/video.html
