I didn’t paint my bed divider board yet but you certainly gave me the idea! The wedges I use go between the top of the 2x6 and the bottom of the tie down rail. A little bit inconvenient but at least the board doesn’t rattle and move. And yes I really like my Santa Cruz. 👍 By the way I used metal L brackets to connect my 2x6 and plywood, that’s what makes American ingenuity so great. You can choose what ever works better for you or make your own design!!

In my tacoma, I have a sheet of plywood. It has one by two trim and handles. When I go to the dump or take food to the food bank, I can pull it out some and load it. It then makes it easy to get what you need. It amazes people when you have a truck full of can goods and the ladies look scared on how we are going to get it out. Then the smiles come. Someone told me about this and I copied it.

I've been thinking of buying a Santa Cruz too, so I enjoy watching your videos and hearing your unbiased feedback.
Your divider wall is both clever and useful. Thank you for giving your 'cut dimensions' to make the job easier for the rest of us.
I would improvise on your design concept with the following.
1. Instead of a 1" x 6" wide board to lay in the left and right side slots/notches, I'd put in a 1" x 8" (to eliminate 'free play').
If an 8" board is too wide, then I'd have it 'rip cut' to size.
2. Perhaps gluing inexpensive carpet strips or foam furniture bumpers to the 'contact surface' of the board might make it quieter.
3. I see why you chose to cut the divider wall short (to fit between the wheel wells in the back), but to solve the 'gap issue' when it is placed in the
notches/slots closer to the tailgate; I'd cut and install 'hinged wings'.
4. And, like you said, adding 'hooks' to hang grocery bags is an option.
5. Your idea of painting it to match the color of the bed liner sounds good.

I'm glad you did that. I've been thinking of how to do the very same. But watching you have me the way to go about it. Only thing ide do different , is after t paint it use put Velcro under the ends. The roads are so bad where I live it would bounce all over the place.

I liked the Velcro idea to keep the board/divider from bouncing. (I originally thought the weight of it and gravity would be enough.)

Nice addition. I would definitely put something in to fill the gap and it will slide back and forth as you speed up and brake. That would be annoying after a while.

This is still a wonderful concept to prevent the spillage of the grocery items in the bed while driving 🏡 from your errands.
